Anyone excited about this? I know I am. :crazy I never actually thought they'd go through with a 4th season, much less make it over ten years after the last one.

And the main character changed?! I don't mind Xelloss, but I want my kick-ass Lina Inverse still as the lead :cry

Awesome! :D This was such a fun show. I stumbled upon it in high school after my friend first introduced me to anime.

I don't know if making Xellos the lead is a good thing or a bad thing...maybe the plot will involve him significantly but Lina and the gang have to go and...er do something about it? :um

I just hope that Zelgadis and Amelia join up with Lina and Gourry again. I miss all their crazy antics. Maybe, just maybe Filia will make a cameo as well?

I loved this show, my bro and I had ongoing lulz over Gourry in his "Miss LaLa" guise.

It's odd to think of Xellos in the lead, since I would assume they would follow the novels.

Xellos is popular, and he was a sneaky bastard - I'm happy as long as Gourry's there...

And Lina making it's awesome for destructive, lesser-endowed folk...

And JUSTICE for all...

And the ORIGINAL emo-guitarist!

I love slayers. It was one of the first animes that I watched. I can't wait for the new stuff. I doubt that Xello will really be the lead as he is much better as he is. Lina FTW!

I'm currently in the midst of rewatching the first series but how could I forget about the cross-dressing goodness?!?

Does anyone think that the Anime series will be related to the Knight of the Aqualord manga? I haven't read this, nor do I know much about it at all, but I'm hoping it isn't because I heard it only features Lina and Gourry and some new characters.

I don't recall where I read it, but I'm pretty sure the new season is made up of two 13-episode story arcs, and both are original material (ie, not manga/novel related).

The "Knight of the Aqualord" manga...wasn't a similar story used for one of the movies?

Megumi reprising the role makes me uber happy, Lina wouldn't be the same without her.

Slayers is probably my fav fantasy-verse anime, the spells were useful and fun, and weren't specialist ('cept for Lina's D00M-level spells).

I'm a big KKM fan too, but that has less magic.

I know! I can hardly believe they're re-making all these awesome shows. Like Itazura na Kiss (just started watching it recently), it's kind of refreshing to watch older anime story lines and humor.

It sounds like it was a joke, but I'm still hoping he might play a bigger role this time. So far there isn't any word on him being in the series, but I don't see how they could leave him out of this since he was so popular before. Not to mention his high profile seiyuu. ;)
