I don't know if this has already been pointed out, but it seems that they moved his hole from is neck to his upper chest
http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/4240/screenshot03dw1.jpg
It was pointed out in the chapter thread where Ulquiorra fought Ichigo (270)
the general consensus was that kubo wanted to make a change (ie it wasn't a mistake), just like he did with Ulquiorras mask
As for the reason why kubo wanted to make that change, that could be some fun discussion:D

wow, I wish I had an eye like that: I swear I would never notice :rotflmao
yeah, you're right...but it's just a mistake, ne?
I don't think it has a special reason
it sounds like 'Harry potter's scar place' issue xD
btw, you misspelled Ulquiorra's name ;D
thanks for the info! :D
i think all arrancar hollows move, maybe they can move them on will.
probably just to make it more asthetically pleasing... or it was a mistake and then they decided to just leave it how it is XP

Well, you know how he tends to stab people where his own hole is? I think if he stabbed Ichigo in the neck, Ichigo would be dead. By moving the hole down a bit, it allowed Ichigo to be hit there, have a nice Hollow hole, and still be alive. *nods*

He probably changed it to point out that Ulquiorra stabs his prey on the chest rather than the neck.
Shdo- they move when they become arrancar, but they aren't supposed to afterwards:p
Vaizado- thats what most of us figured, but i didn't want to say it and make people think it was a fact:D
Kaori- yeah, stabbing in the neck probably wouldn't go as well as just in the chest:lmao

We'd end up with a dead Ichigo.
Orihime: *trying to heal Ichigo* K-Kurosaki kun? Why isn't he waking up? He is supposed to wake up! O.O OMG! HE IS DEAD! HE IS REALLY DEAD!
Ulqui: Oops...I forgot my hole was supposed to be moved down more...oh well.
Producers: *mouths drop* Quick! We need a replacement Ichigo! And somebody shut Orihime up!

Uh, did you forget Hime can revive people?
vaizado- but they couldn't show him getting stabbed in the throat, too violent for kids.
Kubo probably changed it because SJ made him:hm
Kaori- lol

I liked it better in the throat.....Of course I also liked Ulquiorra better when he looked like Billy Joe Armstrong from Green Day, like he used to but meh......

um, people, it wouldnt matter if the hole was in the throat or chest in relation to how Ichigo died. Yes, Ichigo died. Getting stabbed in the heart is usually as fatal as getting stabbed in the throat :ohh
Inoue just has mad hax powers to bring back dead people
anyways, KT just decided to change it like he changed Ulquiorra's helmet.

Wait...he changed Ulquiorra's mask? I don't remember that. And I thought Grimmjow said he let Orihime heal a guy who was "close to being dead". So I don't think he was quite dead yet. Oh well...that was just a reason I thought he might have changed the location. He might have just changed it because he thought it looked better a little lower.

Ah, thanks Shadoblak! I didn't read the manga any earlier than episode 164, I don't know if it ever looked like that in the anime or not.
lol, i mentioned the change in Ulquiorras mask in my first post:cool:
Ulquiorra- so......why did your hollow hole move:hm *is a dork*

Yeah, I think that too. But I never noticed the change until I read this thread :X

Y I was going to say what Kaori said. Well, Ichigo wasn't stabbed in the middle of the heart but in the middle of the chest, and, people with high reiatsu can take higher blows, so I don't really think he was dead... yet, but he would die. But it's true Inoue can revive the dead. Anyhow, I think they changed so it would be easier to stab Ichigo ._.
Hadn't noticed the mask thing though.

your heart is only a couple of centimeters to the left of the center of your chest. Having a hand impaled anywhere near that area would indicate a stab to the heart :p
and because, Rain, i look so much better stabbing people in the heart than in the throat :nuts
although i do look pretty hot either way :headscratch

Who know I didn't care about were it was before but when I noticed it changed I thought it looked way better than in his neck I gotta say that hole in his neck made him look kinda ugly and I believe his mask was first changed in ch233/234. Also another reason I think its better than his neck is because of a theory of mine about why some arrancars dont have them.

As opposed to cannibalism, gallons of blood during the Nnoi/Ken fight and Grimm beating those two Arrancar chicks, all of which arent too violent for kids. :p

Yea, Kubo likes to tweak and adjust things till they are to his liking. Most evident of that, is the 3 main characters and how much they change from the start of the series. The mask and hole is just another to the list. I don't mind when he does it. Doing things for the greater good of the series.

If my memory doesn't fail me, didn't Chad say it in the anime (maybe in the manga too, don't remember that well) that Inoue can't bring dead back to life? It was when Yammi and Ulquiorra first came to Karakura and Yammi sucked souls from humas and then Inoue tried to heal them, but Chad said that it was already too late?:confused:
Besides, it would be kind of unfair if she could bring the dead back.. most likely she can cure those who are on verge of being killed, not those who have already passed away >.>
well she was weaker back then, and maybe its just for living 'living' and not living 'soul'
besides, Yammi also sucked their soul so there was nothing to do.
and she can res ppl, see those two arrancar girls, she healed one who got her upper torso oblitirated...thats pretty much dead in my book.

If one looks at only the evidence shown in the manga, it is safe to assume she can return the dead or heal the injured, as long as their soul isn't devoured.
As for Ulqui's hole, the reason for moving it is starting to reveal itself in his discussions with Orihime, I think.

Kubo changed the design on Ulquiorra's helmet by the time of his reappearance. The japanese volume still has the original design, but for the other language releases (which were significantly later in release) They changed the artwork to match how his helmet would look later.

Uliquiorra's hole moved from his throat to above his chest; same as Yylfordt where it was located. Redesign to his Arrancar look... Artwork improvements from Kubo :thumbs

umm i should know this but what happened to ulqi-kun's mask? And isn't the reason obvious for moving his hole? It's so he doesn't look like the biggest chain smoker in all of anime-dom
Tatsu- it has changed appearence quite a bit, most liekly because Kubo didn't nat to have to do all those details each time, or he changed something about the masks (like Nel and the crack)
Ulquiorra originally:

Ulquiorra now:

one thing i never noticed before, it was also changed how far behind his head it goes:eek: before it went down to like his shoulder, now it ends around his chin
