Damn, I was so looking forward to Grimmjow ripping off Loly's leg....they censored that scene quite a bit. But it made me laugh when he was like "Bwah!" and she screamed.

Animation overall wasn't too terrible, but it could have been better. Next episode looks pretty good from the previews.

The censorship is so awful. We've seen it before but to take out almost the entire scene with Grimm and Loly. Ishida and Szayel didn't get away from the censorship either it would seem. Hopefully the next one isn't bad. Looks like the animation is going to be same next episode.

This was a good episode in some aspect but the animation was shat. However what made it worse was I was hoping they would leave the leg ripping part in but with a silhouette style even though I knew it would be removed. Also did they use like 4 chapters in one episode? I for one hope after the upcoming fillers are over the animation will be perfect for all the episode after the cut off point in the upcoming fight. And depending on how long the fillers are I hop we get the last few episode redone before the Canon stuff starts again even though its unlikely to happen.

Looking at it, perhaps it doesn't seem that it will, but from SP we never know if they can maintain a regular animation during the whole episode, so the preview doesn't really tell much because the episodes always have it upsides and downs in animation and art quality, frequently more downs, unless it's a really anticipated scene (Fortunately, the animators still care about those (sometimes)).
Preferably, i wouldn't mind to wait 14 days for a release and see a episode 121 animated-like, than most of the episodes from this arc. :cry

Renji wasn't really a bad guy, he sorta seemed like it for about two seconds into the story, but then he turned out to be nice. Grimmjow was always a bad guy and I agree he is a lot like Vegeta personality wise.

I hope the animators weren't thinking too hard about him when they drew this. ;)

Such a grand downfall from previous episodes...

Seriously, the quality had raised like a missile, only to crash on this one...

So many unnescesary changes that lowered the quality of the chapter (Szayel being gut shot? - Bleugh... ; and Grimmjow blasting a wall next to a totally opened door... totally unscatched Lolly, I could really go on for hours...)

Also, there were some times when characters did not even look like themselves. Besides the already mentioned Grimm-Vegeta look alike, we have Szayel which barelly looks like Szayel in some picks... And god, there are times when Orihime's face is two thirds eye, and sometimes it's a normal face...

Overall, a really dissapointing chapter that does not live to the hype of the previous ones

I remember when I saw this scene at manga... I soooo wanted Inoue to "Wait... the door is opened! I can escape and heal them all! Tsubaki! *techinque name here* I reject!" = Dead Loly and Menoly and Inoue goes to heal everyone.

Sadly it didn't happened :(.

And about the "it made Grimm look stupid cuz he didn't went trough the door, unlike the manga" in the manga he blasted trough the wall too.

Uryuu is always cool, and Szayel, gotta love him also. And Renji and Ishida picking on each other was great :D. "Ok, don't screw this up" "I won't, unless you screw it".

Pretty lame episode, censors had a blast with it, productors made a fool of Grimmjow with this stupid wall breaking scene, compared to the manga it's a complete joke. Well this make the balance with Ulquiorra's appearance last week which was better than the manga.

Lol... seriously, I'm both shocked and amused at this episode... of course it's NOT funny that they messed it up, but anyway... they made Grimmjow seem like a wimp; sorry I cannot find a better word right now :p... he was a bit OOC (out of character) in this episode compared to the manga chapters; the animators "softened" his scenes with all the censorship and stuff and added lines in his mouth, which he didn't say in the manga. They also left out his line "I'm not into dragging girls with beat-up faces."

That certainly wasn't the only thing they messed up though. I also noticed the thing that Kolbertt mentioned; Szayel being gut shot instead of the arrow going through his heart/neck. Animation and art were worse than in the last few episodes, but NOT utterly horrid.

Anyway, overall the Szayel fight scene was done decently. Still, some of Szayel's expressions weren't drawn properly. Loly being nearly unscathed was a minus, too. The episode had a few inconsistencies compared to the manga... such as Grimmjow blasting a hole into the WALL instead of blasting the door open.. ><'''' It was a ridiculous thing to do, they kinda made Grimmjow look stupid like that. They could've had Loly do something else than blowing up the door open and let Grimmjow do that. And they also killed the intensity of the scene, not only by doing that but also censoring it quite a bit. Grimmjow merely punched Loly lightly and stomped on her, instead of kicking her hard and breaking her leg. While in the manga Grimmjow injured her quite a lot, in the anime they made him go a lot easier on her. I think it was also inconsistent to have Orihime heal Loly (I know she did so in the manga), who had barely been injured. They should have had Grimmjow break Loly's leg, but maybe make it a bit lighter than in the manga. They didn't censor much of Menoly being owned by Grimmjow's cero, though. Also, Loly didn't say "I won't tell anyone!/I'll keep it a secret!" unlike in the manga.

Anyway, IMO, Grimmjow didn't look like Vegeta in the episode, but at some shots he was drawn somewhat poorly. In other shots he was either drawn decently or well.

All in all, the Grimmjow stuff was totally messed up; too many changes, too much censorship, sometimes mediocre and sometimes poor art and animation... Though the art was pretty good occassionally. Overall, it was an okay episode, but still quite a bit worse than some of the previous ones. The acting was good though. Suwabe Junichi's voice = <3

I hope they won't mess up the upcoming fights... :(

The censorship in Grimmjow sucked ass, seeing in an anime other than in the manga a leg being break right in front of us maybe would be a bit disturbing for some fans but it really screwd the way it should be. I am disappointed with Szayel's fight scene even though the scene was completely off. I have no idea why they even bother change the arrow that was shot above the chest and they changed to his stomach; they really could have just kept it like the manga. Besides there was nothing to censor.

The animators also changed the way Szayel introduce himself. He was suppose to do a lady-like gesture and introduce himself as the Octava Espada. Instead they made him bow and clapped his hands, and then introduced himself, which I find was utterly boring if they never followed that manga scene. It really ruin the purpose of the story.

I don't know what to make of Grimmjow entrance... Particularly when the door is three feet away. Is funny and sad at the same time...

The subtext of the anime is even unavoidable. We know Grimmjow likes to show his package around. Just changed the 3 feet to 3 inches... Problem solved.

Anime-Loly ripped the door opened to throw at Orihime. Which Manga-Grimmjow was suppose to blast through the door for his grand entrance (who have been reduce to kool-aid man because doors don't exist and unheard of). I agree... The anime messed up big time, which makes Grimmjow's scene more so hilarious. At least it wasn't as bad where they made Ishida shoot the arrow into Szayel's stomach... I still find the scene really wrong...

They messed up the episode so bad, the creepiness lost its factor even for Quincy line (growls); the only thing I wind up extracting the audio was Toriumi Kousuke's laugh from that entire episode. Usually I have more than one (kicks the animators to death).

One thing I thought during this episode was, "... Are Lolly's boobs bigger? .__." Haha, seriously. Also, lol @ the door and tummy shot at Szayel. EHhhhhhhh, the anime was doing good, but now it's starting to fail, again. But w/e, I'll stick with it for a while since we SHOULD be getting into some good stuff now. I just can't wait to see Ichigo's craptastic mask again. I think the anime showed it in its correct black, but eh.
