Oh man, I was a huge fan of the cartoon back in the day. And then I saw the trailer and it was weird, had horrible dialogue, and looks really, really cheesy, and I'm glad that the film seems to take on the essence of the old cartoons. <3

I want to see this film like BURNING.

I just watched the trailer. I used to love speed racer. Not sure about the movie. I don't know how I feel about it yet. I need more trailers!

As long as the movie retains about 1/10th the campiness of the original dub, I'll be happy. Although part of the original's charm was that there was about 4 actors doing all the voices.

I'm glad to see someone like Christian Ricci as Trixie instead of some regurgitated actress that looks like about 15 other people.

And weren't Racer X and Rex the same person? Again part of the campy charm was that no one knew this despite the obvious name. Racer X ... reX.

Maybe they wanted to make RacerX his own character. He was my favorite in the show because he was so cool.

I saw the trailer, and though the CG looks cool, it seems ... a bit too Mario Kart for me? And Emile Hirsch reminds me of Donny Osmond. XD

Still, if I can convince someone to watch it with me, I'll probably go see the movie. ^^

I never watched the original anime and I saw the trailer. Idk, it looks okay, I might watch it. Seems kinda bland and Tron-ish, though. Tron is awesome, but the animation quality of the cars and whatnot.

We'll see, though.
