Who is your favorite Disney Leading Lady?

I didn’t do sequels, because they weren’t the original main leading lady. And I didn’t do Pixar films because I got bored XD

Will get around to the guys and the villians soon enough :D

Mulan is the only one that I can really remember.

Mulan is my favorite Disney leading lady for a few reasons:

1) She broke traditional Confucian gender roles
2) The first non-stereotypical Asian Disney Character
3) She's the first (and only) Asian leading lady.

eh, I voted Mulan which now has a commanding lead of 3, good movie that took out some sterotypes that sometimes plague Disney movies.

Last time I saw a poll like this (female Disney characters) was on some fourm (I think Gametrailers) except of course in typical unmature boy fashion it turned into a who's the hottest poll.

Belle (beauty and the beast).

She's the first heroine I ever adored. She volunteered to be a substitute prisoner to some maniac beast-type - amazingly brave.

"Who Framed Roger Rabbit" was produced by Amblin Entertainment and The Walt Disney Company (released on its Touchstone Pictures banner)

i grew up with the disney princess VHS videos, which gave me free jewerly. it was mostly arial and jasmine. I loved all them, B&TB, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White..

I think that Jasmine was probably my favorite, because alladin was cute and she had a freeekkin tiger.

I voted Mulan. She just kicks ass.
I also like Jasmine and Meg but they're tied at second for me. Alladin and Hercules are like my top 2 fav disney movies that's why.

I voted Mulan... Asian pride XD and that girl can take almost anyone else on the list any day~ but seriously, I love all the movies made after the 1980-ish, when the princesses started to have personalities (Belle, Ariel, Jasmine…etc.). I re-watched Pocahontas a while ago and I was surprised at how much it still gets me. But I agree: the sequels don't exist!

I wish we were back in the Disney Renaissance era (1989-1999) All the animated films afterwards were horrible.

This wa so hard! I always loved Belle, so I voted for her, but Mulan is another BIG favourite. She broke so many stereotypical roles, and another big fav is Pocohontas.

LOL, I've never heard of Ichabod and Mr. Toad; I feel like an idiot.

But it was a tough decision between her, Jasmine, Belle, and Ariel. They were always my favourite Disney leading ladies. :)

My vote went to Mulan. She had alot of courage to take her fathers place in the war, and she was different from some of the other leading lady's. She wasn't a princess or trapped and locked away or whatever, she was a strong girl who was thinking the best for her family :3
Plus I love the movie alot xDD The songs were awesome and I sometimes still sing them haha :D

I also voted Mulan. She's just so unbelievable stong. Although she kind of rushed into things and had no idea what to do, she was determinded to achieve her goal. And she did! The training was hard, but at the end, she was the best. The fight in the mountains was dangerous, but in the end, she saved them all. At the very end, she faught against the wohle social system and won! She really did faught for all her dreams and desires and she was so strong hearted that even the emperor accepted her (btw: I really liked him. He was a wise and kind man :))

I voted Esmerelda, because she could whoop anyone's ass any day. She was strong, beautiful, courageous, passionate...everything that I admire in a woman. She befriended and stood up for society's outcasts, fought against the injustice of the courts, and in the end risked her life -being burned at the stake- to stand up for her beliefs (all she had to do was sleep with the guy, right?) Anyway, I guess I'm biased since The Hunchback is one of my favorite animated films of all time...the message is beautiful. (What makes a monster, what makes a man)

oooh, I had to pick Ariel XP unlike Beast, who I voted for in the leading man thread, she was just as, if not more, likeable after her transformation... very cute watching her learn what everything is, interracting with Flounder and Sebastian... wow, you make me miss Disney movies a lot ; ; lol

I love Jasmine. I was going to vote for Mulan but I grew on Jasmine. She was perfect with her tiger and snarky attitude.

I love the fact that escapes the castle and mingles with a tramp. She was awesome.

If I were 8 years old, I would've definitely picked Ariel. Because she was my favourite at the time I watched the Little Mermaid.

Jane's the least annoying female so far - she's intelligent, but not snotty, and I find it admirable that she could teach and educate Tarzan so many things, and eventually fell in love with him despite his primeval upbringing.

I had to go with Esmerelda. First of all, I'm a straight female, but she was friggin' HAWT. But although the movie really wasn't that great (even though Frollo having "sinful thoughts" about Esmerelda and having a whole song and dance about it was pretty lawltastic for a kid's movie), her character stood out for me. I mean, it was one of the few times when a female could actually put up a decent fight for herself. -_-...

Pocahontas and Mulan - girls that can stand up against men and don't stay at home being normal princesses...

Mulan definitely wins this one. She's a smart, sweet girl who respects her family and can kick ass. Doesn't get a lot better than that. :fu

Next in line could be Belle because she's intelligent and kind-hearted and isn't shallow. She sees inner beauty. :)

Belle, Pocahontas and Mulan for me. I don't know who to choose. But when I was younger, my favorite was Ariel.

Gah i dunno. I like a lot of "moral of the story" characters from this.

Might have to go purely on Aerial purely because i had like every little mermaid magazine collection that ever came out this whole like land you could make and i even had an aerial doll xD

Ah youth is such a strange thing XD

I think Belle is my fav. To see beyond looks and into the heart of someone is really special and the Beauty and the Beast is easily my favorite disney movie ;)

Mulan/Ariel were great too though.. I get teary eyed when i watch Mulan especially when shes leaving the family to join the army.

These are a great cast of characters, which are mentioned. But my main leading lady isn’t listed, Mary Poppins. :(

However, from the options that are available, Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas is my choice. Due to my affinity for the innovative genius that is Tim Burton, I discovered Sally to be entertaining and morbidly cute (in a pleasant way mind you). I appreciated her inquisitive nature and naivete, which is a common trait amongst curious-minded individuals.

Irrespective of existing in a cruel environment, Sally was warm, generous, considerate and truehearted. The latter emotion was also extended to Jack Skellington, who in some ways remained oblivious to this affection. But I admired the fact, her persistence toward the stubborn “Pumpkin King” was eventually rewarded. It’s refreshing that a character such as Sally, received the opportunity to shine in a leading role.
