So here's a thread for one of my favorite Manga, BAA, written by Yukito Kishiro, if you don't know what's about, here a small summary from Wikipedia:
Battle Angel Alita tells the story of Gally (Alita in the American version), an amnesiac female cyborg. This cyborg's intact head and upper torso are found in a state of suspended animation by the cybermedic expert Daisuke Ido while he is out searching for useful scrap. Amazed by his discovery, Ido quickly returns home and works to revive her. Upon finding that the girl has lost her memory, Ido names her Alita, the name of his recently deceased cat.

The rebuilt Alita soon discovers that she possesses instinctive knowledge of the legendary Martian martial art Panzer Kunst, although she has no other memories of her previous life. Alita must learn to navigate, exist, and fight in the Scrapyard, whose inhabitants themselves live in the shadow of the tantalizingly close floating city, Tiphares. Her journeys take Alita across the Scrapyard and surrounding areas, as she tries to recall more of her past.
BAA is completed in 9 volumes, Last Order is the Continuation of the Story, ignoring the last Chapters of BAA, at the moment there are 10 volumes released. The Artwork is one of the best I've seen so far (especially in LO), very detailed and very clean, just magnificant imo. My favorite Characters of BAA/LO are (of course) Alita herself and Caella (she's got such a superb FB in LO tank 8/9, you just gotta love her lol).

Wow, a thread about Battle Angel Alita maybe my favourite all time manga.
First of all i love the protagonist of this series, Alita. A woman with an artificial body but a human brain. She is always on the search for herself. On her long journey she meets a lot of different people who are able to get an access to her heart. But her destiny does not allow her to stay with the people she loves. Some people die and some people must be left behind. But she never gives up. And on top of all that of all the bad things that happen to her, she is still able to keep her good heart. This is really amazing. She is physically so strong but so psychical vulnerable.
Of course i read the sequel to this series Last Order, too. And like Kurosaki Ichigo i admit that i have completely fallen for Caella Sanguise. ^^
Last Order do not emit that kind of warmth like BAA does. But it has an more global aspiration, to be more exact not only global, more some kind of interplanetar.
Im my opinion an absolutely must read.
