"Kyoudai. Kyoudai! Are you paying attention?" Kyoudai slowly turned his head from the large, double-paned window.
"Yes, sorry Kasima. I've been day dreaming again."
"I know, I saw you. Why have you been day dreaming so much?"
"I haven't been getting enough sleep. I've been having this nightmare..." Kyoudai looked own at the table, his eyes tracing the numerous knots. His eye raced along the dark brown line, twising and curling, and then it hit the knot. Kyoudai followed another dark brown line, and watched as it cascaded from the table...
"Kyoudai, you're day dreaming again." Kyoudai's mind snapped back into focus, and he looked up again.
"Oh, sorry."
"Tell me about these nightmares, Kyoudai."
"I don't really want to talk about them Kasima."
"I'm your friend, talking is why I'm here. I'm worried Kyoudai... You aren't talking to me anymore." Kasima sighed, looking at Kyoudai. He looked unkept... His hair was slightly greasy and tangled, his eyes droopy and big purple bags underneath.
"Okay, fine... One starts out with me training with my Zanpakutoh. I finally find out its name, and call it. But when it appears, is shows up and the Soutaichou. He laughs at me, and tells me I'll never be a captain, and that I weak." Kyoudai looks down at the table, although now he is uninterested in the knots and dark lines.
"So you are having nightmares about being weak? You aren't weak, Kyoudai. You're the strongest person I know. You have to be sure of yourself if you want to become a Captain."
Kyoudai looks up at Kasima again. "I'll never become a Captain. I've been training for it my entire life, but I'm still nothing compared to the Vice-Captains, let alone Captains."
"If you're that worried about it Kyoudai, I can help you train. We'll do this together, you and I. I'm you friend Kyoudai, and I want to help you."
Kyoudai looks away, near tears. "Would you really help me?"
"Of course. I'll help you become Captain."
"...Thanks Kasima. You're a real good friend."
