I am a musical theatre fanatic, and I've seen that some people have some musical CD's on their lists and put down lyrics to musicals in the "lyrics of the day" section, so, what are are everyone's favorite musicals? Movie musicals can count, as some have gone from screen-to-stage, and vice versa. Productions filmed live may also count. If you don't have 15, well, just put down as many as you can ^_^
I'll start, of course ^_^
[1] The Phantom of the Opera
[2] Roméo et Juliette, de la Haine Ã* l'Amour
[3] CATS
[4] Autant en Emporte le Vent
[5] Wicked
[6] Rent
[7] Mamma Mia!
[8] Beauty and the Beast
[9] Cindy, Cendrillon 2002
[10] Into the Woods
[11] Les Misérables
[12] Jesus Christ Superstar
[13] Starlight Express
[14] Sweeney Todd
[15] Sound of Music
All but 4 of these musicals I have seen live, and have been highlighted ^_^
Other musicals I have seen on stage are:
Chicago; The Lion King; Camelot, and My Fair Lady.
I've only seen Phantom Of The Opera and Beauty And The Beast, so I don't quiiiite have 15 ^^; Definitely loved Phantom way more... have the soundtrack too and I listen to it at least once a week ;x No one ever wants to go with me to any shows though ._.

Aw! I have the same problem. My sister only likes POTO, CATS, Wicked, Rent, and Mamma Mia! My mom doesn't want to go anywhere, and my dad is to old to sit in a theatre chair for 2 1/2 hours plus intermission.
We all have the same problem it seems : No one else we know is interested in these sort of stuff. I've never seen any live acts since I'm the only nut one in my circle who enjoys musicals :(
My fav' film musicals :
1. My Fair Lady
2. Singin' in The Rain
3. An American in Paris
4. Anchors Aweigh
5. Grease
6. Kiss Me, Kate
7. High Society
8. The Wizard of Oz
9. Annie
10. Seven Brides for Seven Brothers
:p I'm also a Gene Kelly nut fan :p
boo, I's jealous ; ; It's so nice going out to see a show... who wants to go out a few nights a week to see musicals?! I can get to Times Square or Broadway in like an hour o.o

Are you SERIOUS?! I'd be in NY every weekend seeing shows! XD
But I do understand that Broadway tickets are pretty pricey...unless you play the lotto. National tour tickets are like $80 and below.
well, the money thing wouldn't be too much of a big deal... it's more... going to a show by myself and no one to talk to or enjoy it with kinda takes away from the experience x.x Im starting a new job soon though at Macys near Bryant Park so I just might try to see some shows XD I've kinda wanted to see Lion King for a while now ;3

Eee, well, I hope it's better on Broadway than it was on the National tour. It's probably my least favorite stage musical...my sister even fell asleep during the first act.
But Oh! Bryant park! That means you'll get to see a lot of the Broadway in Bryant Park shows they have every year.
I don't think I've gone to a show by myself, but if it came down to going by myself or not seeing it, I'd go XD I'd just sit in my seat during the intermission, or go to the bathroom (and wait in the long lines) or go to the bar and get a drink.

Um... musicals?
1 - Moulin Rouge
2 - Phantom of the Opera
3 - High School Musical (The First One)
4 - The Wizard of Oz
I think that's it. I hate Grease, so I'm not adding it on the list even though I've seen it.

Well Luhy, I'm in the NYC area too, so I suppose I'd go take in some theater. :p
Actually, to be honest, I'm not a huge fan of musical theater, which is insane, considering I was in a musical theater conservatory for five semesters... What can I say, I'm weird.
Anyway, no order in particular:
1. Rent
2. Wicked
3. Young Frankenstein (saw it with the fam a couple months ago ^_^)
4. Bat Boy
5. Jesus Christ Superstar
6. Into the Woods
7. Pippin
8. Company
9. Sweeney Todd
10. The Producers
11. The Rocky Horror Show
12. South Pacific
13. Spring Awakening
14. The Lion King
15. Notre Dame de Paris
I haven't seen Spamalot or Avenue Q, which I'm sure would be on the list if I had.
I strongly dislike a lot of Broadway standards, especially a lot of Sir ALW's work, like Phantom and Cats. Although, as you can see, JCSS made my list.
Also, you may be wondering what Notre Dame de Paris is. I don't know if they've done an English version yet, but I saw a performance of it done in French several years ago at West End in London, and it's quite incredible.
Imagine some of the most beautiful music you've ever heard, the most gorgeous sets, and stick in some Cirque de Soleil acrobatics, and that's Notre Dame de Paris. If you're ever in Europe and have a chance to see it, you should.
