Awesome manga, albeit slow when it comes to releases >> lazy ass hirano...

Well, for those who don't know, here's a link (http://groups.msn.com/ATU-BOTI/pictures) to read up to the latest chapters. Scanlations can take a while, but at least it doesn't take as long as it does for a volume to be scanlated for the US! XD

Sadly, the manga is almost done! Or at least, according to Hirano's plan for 10 volumes. As such, since the end is near, the manga is approaching high levels of epicness. Read up and discuss!

I really wonder a) what Schrodinger did to Alucard and b) how he's gonna get out of it. ch89 really does look like the No Life King got own'd hard and that he's accepted defeat.

Also, I wonder how Schrodinger could damage Alucard from within, anyway. I understand that he beheaded himself and let himself be absorbed by Alucard and also that he is capable of being in 2 (or more?) places at once, ala Schrodinger's cat, but how did that make Alucard, welll, seemingly die?

btw, I can't wait till the OVA reaches this point. Epic fights for sure.

I thought on making a FC for this when I watched chapter 89--- Alucard had such a O-O face throughout half of the chapter... and finally looked at peace. Trust me, he is as alive as Szayel alive. According to someone in livejournal, Schrodinger made him be at "nowhere" as he is always anywhere and nowhere (confusing as hell, I know :P)


Too bad it will finish in six-seven chapters, the quality was BADASS, but as you said, terribly slow .)

Favorite character: Seras- Hands down to policewoman - though Rip Van and her insane chant has a place in my heart :3 - Yes, I have a taste for mentally unstable characters .p

Rip Van was and is awesome, since she died but also exists as one of Alucard's familiars now (I think). Dawn Rip Van ftw ahaha, she was so clueless and CUTE with pigtails XD

I've never really liked Ceras, though perhaps I'll reread the manga to get a better look at her character.

Seriously, though, since the series is ending soon (I think...? Are we into 10 volumes yet?), it'll be interesting how Alu comes back and what he does. I also want Walter to be ultimately good. I like him .__.

Rip died as Alucard's familiar in a final fire that made all the familiars dissapear... it was an added scene in volume 9 I think - But she sure was and IS awesome. First time I saw her, I remember I looked up for the opera she sung all the time just to hear the music XP

Seras was not that shocking at the beggining... she seemed to be the typical "Damsell in distress", that was until her sanity cracked and started tearing people appart like tissue paper - Her battle against Zorin was just beautiful. And it's my inner sadist speaking, eroding Zorin's head against the wall was just priceless. This is what made me like her... it was like she had a split personality problem or something on those lines.


Alucard coming back? Sure, he is the main protagonist of the series. But he will end up dead. It's his wish to finally die like a man instead of living like a monster. Very much like the Captain, he will die with a smile

Hm. I'll have to hunt that added scene down. It's been so long since that fight, anyway. Wasn't that against Anderson?

On second thought, about Ceras, she turned awesome during the Zorin fight. Pwnd the hell out of her face and the other mock-vamps. Her fight with the captain wasn't too bad, either. It's too bad that we won't see much more of Ceras/Pip, though. Speaking of which, Pip was pretty badass, too. Which makes Ceras/Pip made of win.

Huh, Schrodinger, now a part of Alucard, making himself exist nowhere in order to kill Alucard by pulling him into nowhere, as well, makes sense. Well, damn.

For sure, though, he'll come back somewhere. Maybe Integra will end up doing something that'll summon him back or what have you.

Alucard died.He is poisoned by Schrö-chan,no way,he is able to come back,and he doesn't want to it.Why?He never wants to live after his death.His "second" life was one reason:he wants to find a human person,who can defeat him.
This was the Mayor.Schrö-chan was the hand of that human.
Don't forget!(As for vampires),the death is the liberation.According to me,Alucard was satisfied with it.:)


Anyway,my favourite is Schröööööö-chaaan!:):)

He seems a very-very cute and innocent catboy,but (needless to say) all that glitters is not gold.
The essence of the matter that he is immortal(like he said):he is "everywhere and nowhere."
Well,he is poison of course and very exciting and unique character:nobody can tell a hero/warrior/or whatever with a good reason,who is able to defeat/kill him.
He is not only unsurpassed in Hellsing,but in the whole of anime-manga history too.

Other than that, his ability was HAX- There was nothing that could stop him, but at the same time, he was not really a threat (I have missed him damaging anyone besides Alucard), but him being poison; I must admit I first thought of it when I read of Schrodinger's cat in wikipedia .P


On the road the manga takes, I can see the next chapter is the Major speaking triumphantly, this is a must... but by the end, Walter will die, Heinkel will make a final appearance (or not at all), and the Major will reveal his nature as a monster. The doctor will die simply, and a Human Alucard will kill the major and die...

It's totally inconceivable.There was a chapter(Chapter 83 WarCraft) about his flashback,and we could see,that he rejected "calling of the blood",and stating that:"My heart, my soul, and my life belong to me"-It give evidence of his huge strength of mind,it is the reason (and giant difference between Montana Max and Alucard),why Alucard respects him very much.Alucard wasn't able to reject the "blood",and became vampire.The Major kept his independence.:)(Don't forget he was a respected SS-Sturmbannführer,so it was cause of honour for him,"Meine Ehre heißt Treue"...)

Okay,we watched the OVA-part 4 too.Yay,it's fantastic.Totally love Schrö-chans' voice.:DThat's a perfect fit.
I'd say it's perfect to a certain extent,but I missed that short Schrö-chan scene,when that guy kicked the face of Major.At this point he's horrifying in the manga.

As always, I love the animation and the trueness to the manga of Hellsing Ultimate. Poor Rip, though, I liked her.

The chapters were getting shorter every time or not even coming out, as if Hirano didn't want to work on it anymore.... so I think he needs to take a break or start something new (after 11 years I guess that's only normal? xD) also, the v9 cover looks weird :lmao

^ It's been like that for years and years. I never understood why Hirano got to get away with that, especially when the chapters aren't condensed or anything. Putting out half a chapter every 3-4 months is VERY disrespectful to the fanbase IMO. You don't see Oda or Kubo do that shit.

That said, I loved the series. I've been in love with it since I first saw Alucard, all those years ago. But Kohta has clearly written around a 10 volume series; I don't see how it could be extended. So I've made my peace with the news.

Alucard returns, tries to bite Integra, gets shot down, Seras runs in to check in her panties, some humor, Alucard REALLY wants Integra and Integra's saying BUT I AM OLD, he doesn't give a damn, eventually instead of saying yes or not, she chews on her right hand ring finger (where Eastern European countries-including Romania-slid the wedding ring - awkward choice to offer ) and offers it bloodstained to Alucard saying:

Welcome back, Count.

I'm home/back, Count(ess).

Yeah pretty decent last chapter, although it could've been a bit longer, but for Hiranostandards it's (sadly) pretty long, hehe. I predicted somewhat of a timeskip, and Integra is just win in this final chapter. Just waiting for the translation now, hiranomoe should be up for the task.
