Krompt = Galatea Fanboy <333

Yeah, all the fans are lurking around here somewhere, but this manga is indeed awesome, though I hate the anime with a passion.

Teresa-Fanboy, but yeah, Claymore is definitely one of my favorite Mangas (Guess it's not that hard to guess lol). But funny ecchi scenes? Veeery rare. But definitely many great chars.

Kurosaki- It's true they are rare, but I so happened to notice a few since I read 75 chapters within a week :p

As fanboy wise, I love all the claymores XD.. specifically Teresa, Galatea, Miria, Ophelia, and Clare xD... As for Claymores gone bad, I'm a Pris fanboy and I like the way Isley works =p

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Helen the only claymore it seems like that has a sense of humor, she's my personal favorite. Really any one of the fab four is great. The only problem with this manga is the long wait between chapters, also the anime until it diverged from the manga I thought was pretty good.

I'm not familiar with this manga, but I definitely love the anime.

Teresa-fangirl as well :D. And since I love ass kicking girls and blood, it became my obsession the first time I watched it :D. Perhaps checking out the manga would be interesting, since I still don't know what is Priscilla's fate.

And I really love Teresa..just mourning on the way she died...urg.

I have to admit I really loved Teresa as well, I have mixed feelings on her death, on one side she deserved more than to be suckered like she was, on the other I thought it was one of the better deaths that I have seen in manga, it was certainly one of the most surprising deaths, I remember having to read through a couple times to actually grasp what had happened.

Her death was one of the more unexpected deaths I'v seen, by the way it happened. A sneak attack was really the only way she could have been defected. Her power was so beyond that of any other character introduced at that point that only an incredible unexpected burst of power could have killed her. Also her death lead to the great scene with Clare picking up and caring her head.

Exactly, I remember in the anime how it produced so well, with the music all of sudden stopping, and then seeing the arms fly, and finally the realization on Teresa's face when she realizes what about to happen, all of it produced the most surprising and quick deaths that I have seen in a manga or anime.

I like how that moment was really built up by the entire fight. We knew that Teresa's fate was sealed after she killed the humans and escaped her first death squad, so it was only a matter of how she was going to be killed. I originally thought that numbers 5 - 2 would have simply overwhelmed her. As the fight went on and Teresa proceeded to dominate the other Claymors I kept on wondering what was it going to take to stop her.

Teresa's death is one of the WTF?! moment for me.
She overwhelmed all those who wanted to execute her, yet she died so fast that even Claire didn't have the time to be surprised and to scream >_<

The anime is bloody enough, so I'm guessing the manga has more blood in it and nice fighting angles. The anime fighting choreography is well produced, so I guess reading the manga will be something worthwhile.

This anime simply rules... One of the best anime... Umm... I meant the manga too... I like the anime very much it so good and just getting better and better... I hate it how my friends neglected to see the anime by using some stupid excuses like i hate blood or something like that...

I hate blood? That's rediculous, if you hate blood then it like excludes 80-90% of the mangas and animes out there, it at least excludes every shonen out there, I guess if you hate something like Gantz or Elfen Lied then I could understand, but Claymore actually isn't that bad, on the blood and gore scale I would give it about a 6.5. The anime is very good until about episode 22 or so where it then deviates from the manga, the ending turns into something that seems rushed, and not complete, but everything before that is pure gold in opinion.

Exactly my oppinion, as long as it followed the manga (more or less) truthfully the anime was pretty good, but that crapy ending destroyed the whole anime imo, it would have been better, if the producers had stoped after the pietaarc, without doing that Priscilla/Clare fight, perfect ending imo would have been showing the shadows of the 7 ghosts of the north(Clare &co).

The problem was that one the manga is a one chapter a month type, so it would take years for there to be enough material for a second season, I don't think they were willing to wait that long to release a second season, so they needed to end the anime in some fasion, the other problem is that they had hyped up the potential confrontation with Claire and Priscilla, so they had to include that fight. The result is a very badly made ending, but such is the world of when you convert unfinished mangas into animes without the possibility of second seasons, ex. Elfen Lied, Full Metal Alchemist, and what I think was worst of them all Gantz, that one especially hurts me, because I think they had shown what happens latter in Gantz it would go down as one of the best Seinen animes of all time, instead we have something that is widely admonished as being one of the the worst endings of all time:cry

I never bothered to see the final two episodes of the anime. As soon as I saw that there was going to be a final fight on a volcano I decided that it wasn't worth it. The anime did a good job with the fights, but they were not nearly as good compared to the manga.

Let me ask you this, do they like Bleach, if they like bleach they can take what a lot of anime give out, especially today with all the black blood that seems to the norm nowadays. Do they only read and watch shojo?

snowlesswinter

Nope... They only have faith in famous shounen manga... Still, i didn't meant the all of them but whatever i recommended was pretty useless because most of them are sticked to lighthearted stories... And hey, they are all 17... LOL

I really like the manga, more than the anime version, I dunno why...
I like the characters, the story, the whole thing! XD
I think it's because it's similar to Bleach. I am a big fan of shonen stories.
My favourite character is Phantom Miria, Faint Smile Teresa, Eye of the Organization Galatea and Clare. :)

This last chapter was very good. Brown haired chick managed to redeem herself at the very last moment, and then we get Claire and the girls back. I squealed out loud when I saw them. I'm a Raki fan (a very rare breed :D) and I'm eagerly awaiting his return anyday now.

Hi everyone:love

I just caught with Claymore..

Great series.:)

Am i the only one who does not see Teresa's death as "unexpected"??

I always expected she's one of those great characters who have to die in order for the main protagonist to grow and shine. It was her death that made Clare a Claymore...there was no other way.

But yes, I liked the way Teresa died for one reason. It meant that even Priscilla awakened form at that time could not defeat her and Priscilla had to deceive her and act as an emotionally unstable needy being in order to make Teresa lose her guard and take her heads off.

Anyway, Count me as a Raki fan as well. I like the boy...
he's definitely much stronger now after 7 years of learning under Isely.

and the way Clare and her 6 friends entered the scene. Badass.:D

I look forward to the next chapters. The manga is only getting better for me.
:uhuh

i watch the anime first then read the manga.

the anime became one of my faves instantly so i knew the manga would be good.

the fights are beter in the animei think though...alot better.

espeically claire against the lion king guy (who is the best).

they changed the anime a bit though so clare fights pricilla at the end.

am i the only one who does not see Teresa's death as "unexpected"?? no, i was like 'wtfomg!!!'. i'm never normally like that.

i saw it in anime form though. its much much much better. she's reaching down to help pricilla...then bam! no hands. the close up of pricilla running and then...bam! teresa's head goes flying.

welcome Tari

I have never seen the anime really...but it is no stretch that the battles are drawn is amore fluid way there.

Maybe i should rephrase...I did not forsee Teresa dying in that specific/surprising way..but I always thought that she'd kick the bucket sooner or later so can Clare take prominence and reason to fight in the series.

What surprised me the most when reading the manga was the whole ordeal with Ophelia. Her craziness was too much for me:rotflmao and also Isely awakened form, it was much better than i expected, like Lucicalla said,
he looked better in his awakened form than in his pretty boy form.

I watched the anime first and then halfway read the manga when i couldn't wait for the next anime episode to come out :lmao

i recommend watching the anime, and also reading the manga, cause the anime created a rather bad ending :sweat it gives you a good feel of the claymore world.

and i think people can tell by my avy who is my favourite character :fu

Not enough people commenting in this thread, we need more activity. :D Though with the next chapter coming not coming out for a while.... oh well.

Just recently started the manga myself, actually, and just recently got caught up. Quite an interesting series.

I'm looking into getting the official Viz releases too, which are actually fairly close to the Japanese releases. One thing I have to wonder, though, is how Viz will handle these latest chapters. The fight with Agatha was in some ways more brutal than most of the fights so far, and it also showed a lot more nudity than the series has ever shown before. Hopefully they'll just leave it alone, but I have a horrible feeling they may botch things trying to somehow edit it.

This is one of the best manga series EVER. Female heroines fighting with elegance. Doesn't get better than that! REPRESENT! XD! I could cosplay as Galatea but I'd have to dye my hair blonde XD

I first knew of it through the anime, watched up till the part where Clare protects the other claymores from the male claymore thing (?), the arc right after the Teresa arc. Then I switched to the manga, but I couldn't continue past Chapter #12 or so. I love the story and the world, but the original art grates on me. The artist likes to draw faces in this chubby, annoying way that really detracts from all the great stuff going on.

IMO.

cornflakes- I disliked how the art was at first as well, so you're not alone

but the art gets much better later on in the series, and it is pretty damn good, so you might want to consider giving it another shot

MADS- its because the claymore FC is active, so this thread isn't really needed:p

and VIZ probably won't do much editing, they label claymore as older teen, so they'll just shrink-wrap it and that should be enough

or they'll get lots of angry fan mail:flirt

Yah, at the time I posted this the fanclub thread hadn't been too active lately (due to the long wait for the next chapter most likely) and I hadn't discovered it yet.

Yeah, since its not a weekly manga i bet that FC dies pretty quickly

random thought

the anime was licenesed by VIZ for release in the US, i hope they dub it well:D

So what a about the new chapter?

Really big revelations which were introduced in Scene 79, the known land is only an isle of a much bigger continent and also only an experiment ground for the organisation for getting an advantage in the war against the dragon kin on the continent.
Imo really quite interesting direction Yagi chooses, now there is a tremendously high potential for the future plot & story, I really looking forward to the future chapters!

How did you like it?

I've been downloading and reading the manga again after a long hiatus, and, I have to say, it's simply awesome. I'm currently up to Chapter 48. I'm actually supposed to be studying for my next exam, but.... oh well. That can wait. :P

By the way, is it just me, or does the "Slashers" arc just calls out for a hentai parody? I mean, four chicks, one male demon with many tentacles (and a very long tongue) and phallic imagery....... maybe it's just a result of 4chan overdose on my part, but my mind kept screaming "TENTACLE PORN!!" when I read that arc. :p

Rain
05-24-2008, 02:37 PM
That chapter was awesome, great twist

cornflakes- i didn't think fo that at all, but now that you mention it:rofl

I think 4chan has poisioned your mind though:p

Beee
08-06-2008, 07:39 AM
I didn't think of that either actually.. It's probably 4chan then xD;

The slashers arc was awesome, by the way. (actually everything in this manga is awesome >_>)

and yeah 79 has a great plot twist. I was lucky it was up to 79 when I decided to start reading Claymore =p

the art wasn't so good in the beginning, I admit... but imo now it's really good =) In the beginning they all look like aliens imo.. for some reason that's the first thing that came to my mind... :sweat

Rain

the art style is....interesting

it feels kind of awkward at first, like it doesn't fit right (the scene where Clare is being held up by that huge Yoma in the cathedral comes to mind) but in a sense, that is the most realistic

but the art feels so amazing now:fangirl
