The sky is blue because blue light from the sun strikes the air molecules and scatters and our eyes perceive it as blue. Also blue light is scattered more than red light which which is also a factor to consider.

The grass is green because it is filled with chlorophyll not chloroform that is a green pigment that reflects green light from the sun and absorbs the other colors.

This all has to do with visible light. Wavelengths of white light are dispersed by a prism into the colors of the optical spectrum. These wavelengths pass through the optical window and hit our eyes. This is what makes us see the different colors we see for different things.
