Hm, I searched and google'd and didn't exactly find anything so I might as well ask here... since I just remembered this website had a section for technology freaks experts. :D

Since something like 1-2 weeks ago, my windows explorer started to occasionnaly crash when I use it. For example, I would open "My Documents" (or any other folder) and the whole thing would crash. I re-open right after and there's no problem...

This kinda situation happens pretty often since a couple of weeks... My antivirus didn't find anything and find it annoying/scary o__o;;

First, what antivirus are you running because some of them suck......Second, you should run the diagnostic tools that come with windows...I forget where they are but theres a whole help section on it on the microsoft site....At least there is for Vista...You can check to see if its a hardware or software problem. This happened to my laptop but it wasn't a software problem, turns out my hard drive is dying so I have to send it in....So anyway, just make sure your antivirus is good and up to date, run the diagnostics and if all else fails, restore your computer to a date before the problems started.....Sorry hope that helps a little, I suck with computers :p

hm... running AVG and just downloaded "avast!" (both are freeware... so not sure about the quality)

I don't really know anything about computers.. but I've been told that AVG should do the job. (if not, please refer me to something good?? :p)

I'll check the microsoft site and follow your other tips too, though.. thanks =)

The free version of AVG sucks. Spy-bot kicks ass. Don't need to sign up, it detects and removes adware, malware, spyware, ect. Plus it can control your start up programs.

I have only expierenced something like you are describing once before. For me, I would open a certain folder that had a corrupted file in it that I got from bittorrent and everytime I would open the folder that it, the whole folder would just disappear. If I tried to access the folder through a program, the program would crash. I had to just get rid of the whole folder.

If you are having the problem with multiple windows and that you know don't have any problematic files, then that could be a bigger windows problem. If it's something that you can live with, like it rarely happens, I would live with it. Cause the only alternative, might be reinstalling windows.

I actually have spybot (spybot seek & destroy right?)

and uh.. well it randomly happens on some windows sometimes o_o; I could live with it (even though it's annoying) but I'm just worried about it being caused by a virus or something >_>

I would say update your sypbot and run a complete scan. With all that spybot can find, if it still happens, that would probably mean its something really bad, one way or another.
