Honestly, it's weird de scene from the anime where I like Gokudera... I mean, almost in every chapter he looks different (or at least the ones I've watched) and for the worst, not handsome and sexy the way he is!!! :yell

...And I didn't like the way they changed his story at the anime!!
At anime he never knew who his real mom was, since in the manga he always did!!! And I hated how they made him look like: "OMG!! I'm not a legitime child?? then I'll run away!!" when the real reason why he ran away was "My father killed my mom?!"
they changed a traumed boy who lost his mother because of his father to a traumed selfish boy who discovered wasn't legitime inside the family!! Big difference right?

Too saad!!! Luciana was a really beatiful woman for sure... and a lovely mother too!! ;__;

@Janet: I don't think that's true, and since I've only seen that happen in the anime, I can't confuse things with what I read in the manga.Unless my brain prefers to change things for the drama, I think he wasn't supposed to know that that woman who came to visit sometimes was his mother, but he somehow did, or realized later. I also think they suggested that she was killed or at least banned by his family. But here I'm not sure. XD

Fuuu~ animeGoku is so disliked D: Though he's cooler in the manga, that's true. You can never get a manga style into an anime style (unless it's very simple of course).

Hayato knew who his real mother was in the manga, that's why when Bianchi in Future Arc told him he wasn't a legitime son, he acted hurt, you know, she was adding salt on the wound... and besides, since Bianchi's first appearence he mentioned by himself they're half siblings... what I mean, he acts like he had always knew it, not like someone who got a trauma because of that...

The chapter never said anything about whether she was allowed to tell him or not. But one would assume she was not because it was announced officially that he was Julianne's child, and it would be weird if Luciana came up and said that he was actually hers. He did realize later on when the gossip was going on or Bianchi told him or something, I think.

Maybe it's because I'm an older sister and not a half-sister, and I never tried to poison my little brother with cookies, but I must wonder why Bianchi would say something so horrible to Gokudera, look like she feels sorry, but then not apologize for it and rub some more salt. :devestated

I'm pretty sure Luciana is dead and not just banned since they discussed that it seems almost like her death was a suicide. Although I'm hoping that's a cover-up, even if she was always sorta sad-looking when she watched everyone. >___> *selfish that way*

I've liked Gokudera since the beginning.

I always feel sorry that he kind of always gets the short end of the stick when no one can train him and he has to learn for himself.

It's always amusing that that his "blow it up first and ask questions later" personality hides a super intelligent intellect.

Too bad we didn't get to see 10 year maturer Gokudera longer. It looked liked he had matured in personality alot, and he was uber hot too. Teenage Gokudera is too much like jail bait, but legal Gokudera? Hoo ha.

His angsty background makes him the perfect hero as well.

I don't see him paired w/ anyone. If it was anyone, it could be Haru. But Haru is too annoying for me to wish her on anyone.

I agree that the relationship between Yamamoto and Gokudera is unique.

Gokudera admires Yamamoto for his skills, yet his laid back personality drives him batty. Not to mention Gokudera possessiveness of anyone trying to usurp his self proclaimed right hand status.

I'd be interested in learning more of his history and how he chose the Vongola as his family.

I know he ran away from his own family to be rejected by other mafia families because of his mixed race. But we don't know much about him after he ran away from home to when he showed up in Japan.

Why is there so much antagonism between him and Bianchi? Was it really because he was not legitimate? Or was it something more?

For some reason, it felt like there was more to the story at why Gokudera is so angry at Bianchi. And I don't think it's the sick at her sight thing either.

He refused to train w/ her in the future. She also taunts him about their Father favoring her. I also vaguely recall something about a promise to talk about something unresolved before they went after Irie.

From the flashbacks, it looked like he ran away not too long after he found out abouit his real mother. I would think he'd be more angry at his father rather than his older sister. It wasn't her fault what happened. I can only surmise that Bianchi did something specifically to him that he couldn't forgive. Also, he must have done something to her as well, as she's pretty antagonistic to him too. It's more than sibling rivalry.

Gokudera is not like he hates Bianchi just because of her food - what I mean, maybe he could think she tried to make fun of him, but nothing so serious to act like that, C'mon! my big sister did that to me all time and I still like her... - the reason why he hates her is because of all the anger and rath he has inside, that part of her having something of their father, and feeling like she actually could have known the true all the time and he felt kind of betrayed... :cries:

But I guess at least one of you will give reason about this: Gokudera hates adults not mattering who the adult is, or older people than himsince he feels they're gonna betray him ...again...

About Yamamoto and Gokudera relantioship, indeed Gokudera likes Yamamoto, more than he would ever admit... and that's the reason why he acts the way he does around him, 'cause he cares about him, like a partner but mostly, like a friend... Like he said to Tsuna after 8059 fight against Gamma, he was scared and he took it out against Yamamoto, what that means? He let Yamamoto a side of him he would never show to anyone else, even without realize it...

He appears to still like Dr. Shamal and Tsuna's mother.

Other than Tsuna, he hates any type of authority figure. His disobediance to his teachers is because he's too advanced to be in those classes.

As for Bianchi taunting Gokudera during training, the manga translation is a little different from what the anime translation was. Bianchi taunts him about running away and doubts that he can complete his training in the manga. However, in the anime, she actually talks about favoritism of their father. I'd have to rewatch the anime to be sure. With all these fan-subbings its hard to compare.

I just breezed through the Reborn! manga a few days ago, and already I'm fangirling over Gokudera-kun, so I'd love to join this FC.

As Carrotsandroses so aptly said, Gokudera's got this hard crabby exterior hiding a heart of gold. And he's freaking gorgeous. I love it when he ties his hair up in a little stubby ponytail or clips it up on top of his head.

My first experience with Reborn was seeing a video of Varia Arc when Lambo fights against Lavi, and when I saw him I thought: OMG! Sure this guy will try to steal Tsuna's leader position... but then I began to read the manga, and O-M-G!!! I mean it... GOKUDERA CAUGHT MY EYE IN THE FIRST MOMENT HE APPEARED!!! :wtf

He's for sure one of the must great characters I'd ever seen!! Loyal to the person he really cares, and hidding a great great hurt!! :cry

Yeah, like Janet said, I fell for him almost right away. At first I wasn't sure if I was going to like him, since he seemed like one of those cliched rivals you alwyas seem to get, but then he turned into the loveable thing he is now :wha

I also like how his character seems to develop, becoming more than something that's just comic relief due to his Tsuna obsessiveness. It's nice how he's even beginning to understand how there's more to being a right hand man than being Tsuna's cheerleader :noworry

Gokudera's character development has been amazing. He's been doing all the growth that poor Tsuna hasn't (that poor guy only has loser!Tsuna mode and god!Tsuna mode, and nothing in between...).

What started with all the "LOL poison" between him and Bianchi is turning into real family drama, and he's also had a lot of development regarding his role in the Vongola - he's moving far beyond just "JUUDAIME!!1!" to protecting his fellow guardians even if he doesn't have a strong personal bond with them. After seeing him with Sistema C.A.I., I can easily see how this guy's gonna become the future fearsome (and freakin' hot!) right-hand man. :)

I'm going to guess it's because Tyl!Gokudera wouldn't want to see the earlier Tsuna get in harm's way, or potentially die becuase of it.
And I doubt Tyl!Hibari would want Gokudera in on the plan. Doesn't he hate working with others? :headscratch

I think they didn't include Gokudera 'cause he would be against the idea of let Tsuna harm himself at the future, and risk his youngerself bringing him from the past... you know how overprotective he can be... before his right hand, Tsuna sees him like a friend, and so Yamamoto... :cry

Gokudera is a strong character, having to deal with everything is happening....

It's a pity the fansubs had to drop off right before this, because Gokudera's getting his big act on with Sistema C.A.I. and all that.

I'm still trying to trace back when Goku and Ryohei began their "taku-heddo" (octopus head) and "shibafu-atama" (lawn-head) routine. I love it when they're picking on each other, and when Gokudera yells "Grassy!" when Ryohei got beaten by Gamma. :XD

I agree, I loved watching System CAI in action against Gamma, so even though it wasn't subbed it was animated really well.
