About the girl:

The girl's name is Amamiya Sakurako, or for short the "Ice Princess." The first picture speaks of their futures, and unfortunately the rest is too small for me to read...get me some bigger ones and we'll be in business.

高校一年で学校のトラブルシューターみたいな事をやってる
夜科アゲハ（主人公）は
ひょんなことからサイレンと書かれたテレホンカードを公衆電話で拾う。
ある日クラスメートで根暗の電波少女、雨宮桜子（メガネ）の財布を拾い雨宮も同じテレカを持っている事を知 る。
このテレカはなんだ？（スペルがわからないアゲハ）と雨宮に問うが、雨宮はしらばっくれ、次の 日失踪。

前に彼女がサイレンがどうとか言っていたのを思い出し、
テレカ、サイレンについて調べだしたアゲハ。

そして都市伝説「秘密結社サイレン」というネット上の噂を知る。
現実がイヤになった者を集め楽園へとみちびく者
それが秘密結社サイレン
テレカはサイレンへの唯一の連絡手段らしい
そしてサイレンの秘密を突き止めた者には５億の懸賞金が出るらしい
テレカもオークションで５００万くらいいくらしい。
まあ色々あって電話するアゲハ
んでいろいろあってサイレンの世界（荒野）にワープしてつづく。

後半ほとんどはしょったけどこんな感じ。


he is the 'trouble shooter' of the school (japanese english rape, i guess). he (ageha) has a telephone card with the word psyren written on it, he picked it up from a public phone booth. one day his dark (as in dark personality, depressing/cynical) friend, loses her wallet, and he picks it up and finds she has the same card. when he wonders what it is, (he doesn't know spells), he wants to ask but she disappeared the next day. he remembers her asking him if he had heard of psyren before. he hears an internet rumor about a secret society psyren. the only way to contact psyren is through the telephone card. he looks online and the cards sell on auction for 500 man yen (i.e. $50,000). then a lot happens, but he ends up calling and warps to the psyren world.

Just finished reading the whole chapter. Shrimpy from MangaHelpers is such a great guy for spending the better part of his day translating the entire 66-page chapter. :yell

But anyway, this was seriously an awesome opening chapter. Let's hope it doesn't get the axe like the author's previous series, Mieru Hito, did? :uhuh

Yeah, the sister is pretty funny, but also so strict! :eek: Poor guy. And that "nice" girl at school annoyed me with what she did to Sakurako, so I'm glad that Ageha told her to shove off find her damn cat by herself. :yell

The whole other world thing reminds me a lot of Bleach... lol.

Whoa! I just read the first chapter and I'm like amazed! This seems totally awesome! The art is great and all the characters seem really interesting, and, of course, the plot is nothing short of intriguing. Yeah, this looks like a good series to me, and to think it's so new! :p

I love this line at the end the best: "You're world is now connected..." Gotta find out where Ageha was transported to, and why Amamiya said, "save me" under her breath the last time he saw her before she vanished. What did she know before she disappeared? :confused:

Anyway, this gets published weekly in the Jump, right? Haven't more chapters been published by now? :rolleyes:

Yes, it runs weekly in Shounen Jump, but it just started last issue. So this week will be its 2nd chapter. :p

imo Ppsyren is just a mixture of Gantz (Game) and Matrix (Telephones), hope it will get better in time...but hey, its only been 2 chapters yet.

Supposedly the Author of Psyren did another manga before this one that was said to be very similar to Bleach.

I quiet like it so far. Sure, there's only been three chapters so far, but it has alot of potential if it was to go in the right direction. Will keep an eye on this manga.

Anyway, Yes, this series does have potential...infection awakens doormat powers in the Psi, depending on one's personality, the Burst/Trance and Rise are different and so forth..I am looking forward to knowing more about this system..nice so far;)

The friendship between Agea and Asaga reminds me of Kei Kurono and Kato (even Kei is shorter than Kato, Kato is a "giant" himself, i think he's 187 cm as well, not to mention how Asaga changed from a crybaby to a responsible man and he used to look up to Agea i think....reminds me of how Kato used to look up to Kei in their childhood days...

I am so glad that Sakurako is no Kei Kishimoto though...

oh thanks for that. I so want it. It's a beautiful cover and I'm so in love with this series--it's definitely got Bleach potential. The story is already so complicated and the art rocks and Amamiya is standing right there as a major character with the shounen lead.
