"A test type Zoanoid, disguised as a normal man, escapes from an organization called the Chronos Corporation with a bag containing three items called the Guyver Units. Chronos soldiers attempt to recover the units from the test-type but are unsuccessful; the test-type was discovered with a grenade in his possession and used the grenade, killing himself and scattering the Guyver Units around the area. Meanwhile, two young high school students, Shō Fukamachi and Tetsurō Segawa come across one of the lost Guyver Units. Curious as to what the unit is, Shō accidentally activates the unit which then merges with him, becoming "Guyver I." Now, Shō must fight for his life and those that are close to him against Zoanoids sent by the evil Chronos Corporation that are in pursuit for the Guyver Units."

So besides me and Agmaster has anyone els seen this anime? And if you have what are your thoughts on it?

You may discuss anything about the anime Guyver universe here.

I honestly thought this series was awesome and hope they go through with a second season since it kind of ends with a cliffhanger. This anime had a sophisticated storyline, great animation, and intriguing characters.

I love this anime. It has a very intriguing story line and cool looking armor/monsters. :) Did anyone ever see the two live action movies? The American ones? :D Those were OK if you didn't expect much (the second one more than the first ...).

I saw those movies so long ago. I'll have to watch them again if I want to remember any of it.

I also heard there was an original 12 episode anime Guyver series before this 26 episode one(Which I hope continues). Did you ever see that one and is it worth watching if you did see it?

I saw it. It is so worth watching. While it is not as expansive as the 26 episode series, it was very well done and is worth watching. Man, it was depressing when I first saw it. Super powers yay, all my friends and family are just screwed. And the fights were way faster.

Hmm the really old ones? Like ... done in the 90s or something?

I remember watching an older version of Guyver before. Unfortunately it was dubbed and dubbed horribly. They didn't even try to synch up the lip movements with the voices. :p

It's a decent watch (the original, not the dub), but the newer version (I only saw the first episode though :() is probably better.

Edit: Take Ag's word for this, I guess, since he saw the whole thing. :D

Oh, get over the pretentious of dubs and subs. Lip synching is difficult, but during the Golden Age of anime *93-97* there were so many amazingly dubbed series. Evangelion, Project A-ko, Guyver, Ranma 1/2, Blue Seed, The Akira Movie, The 8-man movies, Vampire Hunter D. The list goes on and on.

Dunno which dubbed version of Guyver I watched, but it really was terrible. >_> Like in a few scenes the person's mouth isn't moving but the voice is speaking. Yeah I understand subbing is hard, but it seemed like they didn't even try for that one.

That's why I prefer subs. However I do like some dubs, like the current Bleach and Death Note dubs.

I'll have to look into 12 episode one then.

And yeah, a lot of good dubs back in the day.
