It is dusk in Karakura Town. Not far from the forest clearing where all of the action was happening, a homicidal maniac escaped from prison with nothing to lose and went on a shooting rampage, killing a total of 8 civilians, 2 police officers, and a stray puppy before the police managed to bring him to justice, by which I mean death.

The souls have since migrated to a nearby forest, where they currently await their fates, dispersed as follows:

Lexi looked up from the soul and was extremely disheartened to see her favorite worst nightmare standing over her. She sighed and turned around to face the hollow, in an exasperated manner that clearly indicated she was tired of their 'games'.

"Jeez, not again ... it's like you're stalking me or something. This is what ... the seventh time or something? Bah."

"Anyways, what's it gonna be this time? A bit of licking, a few deadly ribcage hugs, and then you'll shatter half my bones and throw me somewhere once you're done playing, hmm?"

"Whatever, just don't go after the left leg, okay? It's still healing from the last time."

The tail slammed into her leg with the force of a rocket, and Lexi didn't even bother with moving. She slammed headlong into a tree, easily knocking it over, but still managed to drag herself back up into a standing position. Her leg wasn't quite yet broken, though it was extremely sore - the bones were probably on their last legs. She looked up at her assailant, now stalking towards her.

"How uncharacteristically considerate of you. Perhaps this relationship can work out after all."

She then proceeded to knock the shinigami into the sky (Strength 133 Speed 133) and then followed by opening up her maw and spewed a stream of acid into the sky. Lexi took both attacks without lifting a finger to defend herself, first being kicked hard into the stomach to the point where she was sent flying, and then being sprayed with corrosive acid that burned her shinigami robes and melted her flesh.

For some reason, she didn't feel the pain nearly as much as usual ... it felt like she'd been injected with a giant syringe full of morphine just before the fight, and when she finally hit the ground some dozen meters away, she sank into unconsciousness just like one would into a deep sleep.
