A season three is in preparation and we already know the title of the new episode: The Empty Hearse.

Has anyone already watched that fabulous TV show?

Sadly not but I'm interested :D

So by faboulus I don't even need to ask (but I still do, hehe): is it good? (storywise).

I saw the Sherlock movies - did the series has anything to do with the great movies?

It is very good, a very good adaptation by the way. The creators are very close to the books despite the fact the timeline is set in the 21st century. There are lots of quotes taken from the books and the different stories of the serie are a mix of several novels of Sherlock Holmes.

Benedict and Martin act wonderfully that's why Spielberg and Jackson hired them for their respective movies, War Horse and The Hobbit. They are very natural in their roles and they have very close personnalities from the original characters. Even though they acted for the first time together, they show a natural bond and friendship onscreen.

The creators explore the relationship deeply and profoundly. They have done a hard work in order to make them sound realistic and some reactions are quite close to ours sometimes. It's funny to see and watch. The pacing of the different dynamics is well-built thanks to 90-minutes episodes.

Thanks to this length, the investigations are better done and built. You can truly follow Sherlock's racing mind as he says himself. Everything comes at the right moment, it's a real pleasure to see. You aren't lost at all thanks to this pacing and thanks to very clever texts appearing on-screen. I let you discover that aspect of the show.

This show made me re-read all the adventures of Sherlock Holmes.

This show isn't linked to the Warner Bros's movies. Movies are American and the show is British and produced by BBC. Funny fact; both productions started in the same time. Really.

Thanks for the review! :D
It sure sounds interesting and I'll give it a try (hoping to get my hands on it), but 90 minutes?! Holy damn - how many episodes does each season have? oÔ

Azley~ 3 episodes per season. Only 2 so far. They started filming season 3. I'm not up to date with the info except for reading what Lady Rukia posted. I saw it on Netflix since I'm from the US. I liked the show. They like to explore the "questionable" relationship between Holmes and Watson indeed. I believe it's more for humor than actual anything.

It's indeed a joke from the creators, Mark Gatiss is gay himself so they added that as a sort of joke about our current society. There is no offense against gays, they are fine with it but people took it seriously sadly.

Spoilers Season Three:

Oh and I learned Mary Morstan will be played by Martin's wife, Amanda Abbington!

Second the motion ^_^

I love the way they give little nods to the original. If you've read all of Sherlock's adventures by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, almost every other scene makes you nod and smile, almost like you're in in this really wonderful secret.

When I watched the Warner Bro film (the first one) I was expecting this sort of adaptation, but was put off on how they managed it. Needless to say, I didn't watch the second movie anymore. On the other hand, this one is a little piece of gem, its exactly what I hoped for, and more. Highly recommended esp if you've read the books ^_^

I've watched the episodes and am truly impressed by the show :). I can't say I'm a Holmes fan, I never read the books or watched any other movies. I knew of the existence, I knew of the basics and the relationships but never put much effort into it. So I started looking it as a new viewer and was impressed.

The acting is very good and Holmes and Watson have a good dynamic. There's not much I can say that would add anything to the posts above except that I can't wait for the new episode to come out :D. I guess I'll re-watch the episodes soon!

A very, very good series I can't really add to what people have already said :o But Azley, you should definitely give it a go - throughout the whole 90 minutes you're completely emerced in the story and the time seems to fly by :) Iv'e seen so many versions before, and I think this one has to be my favourite - Cumberbatch and Freeman make it, not to mention the humour and little quirks - better than the Warner bros movies by a mile - and they weren't awful (It's just a pet hate of mine that Holmes just had to be played by an American )

At the beginning I was very sceptical towards the series. Sherlock belonged to the 19th century since my childhood, and now he's going to solve cases in the modern time? Nah.
But when I decided to peek in, the actors and the plot could convince me. Benedict and Martin and also the writers do an fantastic job, and it's definitely worth watching it. :P
I was sceptical about the length, but as Ruki said, time just flew by while watching it.
And I like it better than the hollywood-Sherlock, although RDJ did an awesome job as well. Furthermore, I can't wait for Season 3! >w<
Anyway, great series! ^_^

Title of the second episode:

The Sign of the Three.

I kind of expected it.

It's one of the best shows I've seen, and I love the British style "series" as opposed to "seasons" that we have in America. It really suits a show like this.

New fan to this show! :D Much enjoy how they incorporated the characters in the 21st century, everyone is a badass from Watson to Mycroft to Moriarty.

*in need of newer episodes x.x

You two are right: it's a very good Tv show.

The last episode of season three will be shoot by Nick Hurran.
