considering this is a bleach forum, bleach will most likely win (if this were a poll)

that being said, bleach is far better than naruto in every category

Gah!! SO hard! I love both, I really do... but at the moment Naruto seems to be getting dragged on (for me) and Bleach is getting dragged on as well... (to me.) But back in 05, it was Naruto who owned me and then I got into Bleach. I prefer and like both. So I can't choose. They're both great series, at least to me they are, and I enjoy watching them and reading them... Even though at the moment they're dragging to me... or I might be losing interest in both fandoms...

I would choose free will:

One Piece

Agreed, lol. Bleach has been sucking lately, but finally is picking up. Naruto is at a good point, but the fight is getting boring. One Piece is coming to an interesting point in the arc :D As for manga like these, Fairy Tail is at the best atm. It's a mix between Naruto, One Piece and Bleach XD

I prefer bleach over Naruto but i can't say what my favourite manga/anime is as i like so many different ones. Naruto got stale dry and boring and to me it seems like something for younger kids. Sorry older fans.

Overall, Naruto is better IMO. :)

I enjoy both the same, but there is a specific in character in Bleach that makes me spend more of my time in the Bleach fandom than in Naruto.
But i think naruto has more stuff going all, things are better connected and besides the main character, all the heroes are more human. :)

Anime: Bleach. Naruto Shippudden is soooo slow and boring. The fighting in the manga is way more entertaining than in the anime. For some reason it seems boring to me. =\

Manga: Tie. Both have good storylines and fights. But where has Naruto been recently? It's mostly focusing on the Jiraiya-Pein fight.

Sometimes (Like right now during the boring parts) I think Naruto, but for the most part I like Bleach.

P.S. I think Naruto should have been named after Sasuke. XD

Bleach. For the mysterious, yet dark tones as well as the comical and romantical aspects of it. I love Naruto its comical but at times can get overboard. I guess Bleach is just more my style hehe.

Nowadays, I do look forward to Bleach rather than Naruto.
This is mainly because I like the way Bleach is drawn in the manga, and its anime isn't going through a slow phase like Naruto is.

Both. I think they are two of the most popular anime/manga ever. At least they keep me addicted.:D

Naruto(anime) is getting draggy and stuff, but the plot has more "mysteries" and things are getting connected now. I like the manga much better though. Can't wait for Tobi to be revealed!

Bleach just makes me excited and impatient about the upcoming chapters after reading the current ones. I can't wait to see Mayuri get into action! And Bleach's fillers are the best out of all fillers?

Haha. :/ I really enjoy both productions. Can't decide.

One Piece is kinda dragging right now IMO, they're taking way too long with Oz. (Though Luffy looks awesome right now, hopefully he'll speed things up.) Bleach has always trumped Naruto for me, though I still like Naruto quite a bit. Whether it's above One Piece depends on how things are going in the two stories at the time.

Bleach. But Naruto is getting cool. I didn't like the Naruto Dub but it started to get better right before Zabuza came around. and Zabuza's dub was great and the dubs started getting much better.
I mean, Crispin Freeman as Itachi, Brilliant!
Now if only Crispin did a voice for Bleach.

if you would have asked me a year ago i would have said bleach without hesitation. I still love bleach like in the first day but what puts naruto in front is because kishi makes it more emotional and sad like killing of sandaime, asuma and this week jiraya. Bleach kinda lacks that beside from kaiens death no good guys or major fan favourite died. of course it would be sad but it also would add seriousness to the manga ( just imagine urahara sacrificing himself to save someone :D)

I always said that Bleach was the grown and sexy version of Naruto.

I think the English adaptations of Naruto were a total buzzkill for me, because it has spawned the Narutards that do their Hot Topic cosplay...

Taicho's got a point. Kishi loves his sad stories. IMO, there is just nothing in Bleach that can compare to Haku and Zabuza's death scene.
Killing off some good guys in Bleach wouldn't be a bad idea. No matter how much they bleed, they always survive. (Ikkaku, Renji, Hitsugaya, Chad, even Ganju, etc.) It makes me think Kubo doesn't want to get rid of anyone but the villains.

Both had its share of greatness. Bleach for its simple story yet complicated plotline, great mouth-watering action, at least consistent animation of canon events (those in manga, pacing's good), romantic undertones; Naruto for its complicated plotline yet simple story, and...what you guessing? NaruSasu of course.

However, i am not fond of the pacing of Naruto Shippudden anime. Draggy like hell. Made me download in bulks and watch them later because i cant to watch them (imagine that and it's only a 20-minute entertainment) one-episode at a time. Bleach anime is better, at least even if the animation sucks, you have the Shinigami's cup to look forward to.

I really love Bleach, but Naruto iz my favourite anime. (I ma sick Narutard, deal with it :D )
Maybe the reason is that I'm obssessed by ninjaz. :D Naruto forever.

PS. I said ninjaz, 'cause both Bleach and Naruto have awesome subjects, characters and animation. But the ninja- tehniques are somehow cooler than tha shinigami's. Just my opinion..

A year ago I probably would've said Bleach straight away without a doubt and probably would've ranted on about how boring Naruto was, but that was BEFORE I started reading the manga of Naruto. Now though, it's a bit different, but even so, Bleach is still my favourite and I have to say is placed quite a bit higher on my list of 'fave anime/manga' than Naruto.

hmmm, I would say when it comes down to it I like Bleach more, but really Naruto is catching up right now, because at least in the manga I feel like the fights count for something in Naruto, in Bleach right now I don't feel like I should care because I already know that everyone will survive, at least in Naruto there is a chance someone will be killed off.

Bleach has just become a fightfest that doesn't really seem to be going anywhere. Truly I like the characters of Bleach more than Naruto especially the main characters, I mean give me Ichigo over Naruto or Sasuke anyday, and as for Rukia vs. Sakura its not even close. The secondary characters are a little closer but I think Bleach wins out still. Finally I think I like the relationships more in Bleach as well, there is nothing in Naruto that comes close to the Rukia-Ichigo bond in my opinion, also I like a manga to have romantic undertones, I think its only natural for there to be these kinds of bonds that develop in these types of situations.

What Bleach needs to do is get back to what made it so interesting, but also Kubo needs to kill off at least one if not two good guys, otherwise I am just always wondering how the good guys will pull something out of their ass in order to win. Make me wonder if someone will be able to pull through.

Naruto would have been a lot better overall if the characters hadn't started out so young, the whole manga I think would have been much better if the characters had started out about 3 years older instead of having them play ninja at the age of 12, I mean come on, 12? It also could have given the characters a little more maturity which they all need at times.

I love both. A lot. Both are very interesting, although I find the fights in both are currently getting on my nerves.

In Bleach, almost all fights are with no reason at all; and it seems like it's just thrown in there. As for Naruto, these having ten hearts of Pain seems to be a device to lengthen the fights that are bound to occur. Naruto seems to be revealing more and more unknown things and mysteries of the various characters however, and at least it is accomplishing something.

All in all, I love both a lot, but I am currently more to Bleach. I will re-read Naruto once I'm done re-reading Bleach chapters that I missed out.

When I first started Bleach, I preferred Naruto, mostly because I was most comfortable with that show and knew what in the world was going on. But as I started really getting into the world of Bleach, I felt my favor shift there, up to the point that by the SS arc, I was hooked. Naruto slowly began to fade after the recent Shippuden episodes. I like the later chapters though, so hoping Shippuden becomes more interesting to me.

As far as Bleach goes, it had at one point, completely taken over Naruto. But now, I agree with Spartan27, it is losing some interest for me with all the nonstop fightfests going on. Its fine and everything, but we need more then just that. Oh well, I'm hoping Kubo has something unique planned which will leave his fans speechless. Even though I don't like to see good guys get killed, if one must, so be it, but hell WILL break lose if its Ichigo, Rukia, Renji, or Ishida.

Allright this is how I see it different things attract me to Bleach and Different things attract me to Naruto.

Naruto
-Pain/Pein
-Tobi/Madara
-Sasuke/Itachi
-The whole Akatsuki

Bleach
-Just about everything but the only thing I can say I disliked from bleach was the Bount Arc minus Utagawa , Koga , Jin , The Old Bount.

So I'll have to say I prefer the Bleach Universe better its more Ideal for me but Naruto has great villians those are mostly the reason why I watch Naruto but Bleach. Bleach is the first anime i've seen that has my favorite dress style in it. " Black Hakama + Black Tops " So natrually Bleach won me over.

Ah, Bleach vs. Naruto.

The two share the same genre, a few of the same genre, and there are even some character/situational similarities if you look hard enough. I only recently started reading and watching Naruto, because someone told me, "It is actually a lot like Bleach. But maybe funnier. Maybe even better than Bleach, if Sasuke dies."

So I had to see who the hell Sasuke was, and right away, I decided that Bleach completely owns Naruto when it comes to the art. The characters are er, 'prettier,' more defined... It is easier to understand the scenes... The fights don't look like random scribbles in some instances... There were certain things in the Naruto world that I could not understand until I watched the corresponding anime episode, and I really did not like that. It is like the author of Naruto had all these great ideas and images in his head, but just could not get them down on paper right.

But great ideas they still are. The Naruto world feels more cohesive than the Bleach world. Both casts have interesting abilities and murky pasts, but the stories in Naruto are more systematic and better explained.

For example, in the Naruto world we know that there are a few different type of jitsus, and that within each type of jitsu, the ninjas can sort of take when they know and create their own unique jitsus according to their personal abilities. But all of that occurs within given boundaries so that when we see a new character with new unique skills, or even a new character with a new skill, we go, "Oh, cool!" However, in Bleachdom, there are more holes.

Like with kidou. We know that there are a few different types of kidou that each serve a specific purpose. Some heal, some bind, some shield, and some blow you up like you don't matter to the world at all. But when a 'new' kidou is revealed, there really isn't anything to feel pumped about except for maybe... how poetic it was.

I think that the above was a horrible comparison, but I am short on time and cannot think of how else to explain that point. There is just an element in Bleach which allows 'new revelations' (such as character backgrounds) to feel foreign even though they fit. But the schematics in Naruto are much simpler so that everything is laid out and slides right into place.

While I think that the characters themselves are more stylistic and better drawn in Bleach than in Naturo, right now there are more unique characters in Naruto that are more interesting. I say this because even though Bleach has a large cast all with interesting and unique attributes and skills, only a set amount of them pop out. And then, only a few of those make themselves memorable. So you have is a handful of protagonists that hold their own...the major mysterious antagonists...and then a few more handfuls of other more non-descript characters which serve as comic relief (more or less). On the other hand, in Naruto, you have the handful of protagonists and the main antagonists, but you also have really interesting side characters with their own story (such as with, er uh...Grandma Chiyo). Then the side character dies off or leaves or whatnot, leaving room for another side character. The author makes his own little fillers to entertain us with, so that we always have little bits of mini sub-plot drama.

This is getting too long, I'm sorry! Overall, I think Naruto is the better storyline. It goes much more in-depth than the main overall Bleach plot. But I still do like Bleach more, because it pulls on my heartstrings in a way that Naruto doesn't. I think because the character interactions and intentions both seem more intimate and mature?

Whatever. I'm off the soapbox now.

Oh, definitely Bleach, but mainly because it has a more mature feel. Which of course isn't a criticism of Naruto since they are targeted at different ages. Just my personal preference. I should note that I'm only comparing the manga as I stopped watching the Naruto anime once the filler hit.

Spartan27
02-20-2008, 12:17 AM
The only thing about Bleach being the more mature show is that at least in Naruto there has been death, and unlike Bleach death seems to be pretty final. In Bleach there is idea of reincarnation/Soul Society/ or the idea that as a hollow they are able to be redeemed. The feel I agree is more mature, but in many ways Bleach needs to grow up.

Tombstone
02-20-2008, 01:17 PM
Back then, I would've said Bleach without a doubt because I can't stand kids as the lead characters in anything.

In any case, seeing how I prefer all my anime to be of the action genre, one would think I'd be right at home with both series, but honestly, I consider both of them overhyped.

As for which is better, it's sort of a mix bag. Hmm.. I guess I'd say it's a tie.

Anime
-------
Mind you, I only watch the dubs. Nothing against subs, I just prefer to understand what I'm listening to. Anyway, I have huge issues with both, Naruto and Bleach when it comes to the anime. For instance, the fighting in Bleach has been a big let down. From how it looks in the manga, you'd expect some intense, fast-paced fighting, (Like Rurouni Kenshin) especially since this is suppose to be samurai-ish. But the fights are just really dull. It's like they focused so much on artwork (which is inconsistent btw) and forgot about the intense pace.

Naruto has that pace that I'm looking for, but like Bleach, the artwork tends to be really inconsistent. Rock Lee vs Gaara was a good fight, but the characters themselves looked really hideous. (I'm an art and animation nut as well, so...) Speaking of animation, I'm still waiting to see this spectacular animation in Naruto.

And then what really kills both series for me is the pacing. Naruto's pacing is just stupid. And I commend you all (those who praise Naruto) for being able to put up with it. I cannot stand it when anime spend like 15 minutes on flashbacks (I know, it's for character development), and then spend another 5-10 minutes to show a recap of what just happened in the previous episode. Bleach's pacing's not as bad, but they take too long to get the story moving. Really, you don't find out much about anything until mid to end of Soul Society arc. (that's too long)

Either way, I had a lot of expectations with both, and, yet it's been a huge letdown.

Manga
-------
Another mix bag (both outclass their anime counterparts), but I give the edge to Naruto. Bleach is taking too long to get anywhere, whereas, Naruto is moving along just fine.

It's tough to choose because Bleach has more / better characters that I like, whereas, I only like a few characters in Naruto. (I hate Naruto himself, btw)

Naruto's story is better than Bleach.

Both has superb artwork, but Bleach's artwork is better.

Bleach got named best anime in 2005, 2006 and 2007 (and not 2008 cuz the year just started) (source: wikipedia)

I don't watch nor read Naruto, but I've seen some episodes (got friends who watch and when they come to my house they watch some times) and some AMV's, and I prefer Bleach way more. I saw two eps of shipuden and they were rly boring. Naruto's 4 tailed fox seemed more like a dog than a fox, and the episode didn't showed a fight, it showed Naruto overpowering the other guy then the other guy overpowering Naruto and so on. And they took hours just to cast a spell and it was lots of time just looking at the spell being cast.

Bleach ftw!

Hm... both are pretty interesting methinks.. but the characters of Bleach are much more interesting and appealing to me, whereas in Naruto even some relatively important characters are really "bleeh" to me (to the point where I don't remember their names), so I'd go with bleach. Both have some pretty neat fights and plots though.

I don't like Naruto, so that why it's Bleach for me.
Naruto is a nice series and the idea with ninjas is nice too, but it's way too popular if you ask me. I know other series, that are better (no endless power ups, awesome character development, etc) and are not as far as popular as Naruto. I don't really know why. And now, when you go to a convention and everywhere you look, you see Naruto/Naruto-Cosplayer/screaming Naruto-fans... It's getting on my nerves! Too much Naruto!

naruto has even killed of many main characters by now and has costant plot twists. and isn't all about fighting. and is realistc etc...

PRECISELY.

I got so sick of the Naruto fillers - by the time Shippuuden came around, I had already lost interest and dropped the series after about five episodes. :/

So maybe Naruto is better for people who watch it later and can skip through the fillers altogether? ^^;

I've never seen more than a few clips of Naruto on YouTube, but how is it realistic? It can't be the whole shooting fireballs is it? Spitting spider webs or the ability to strecth one's neck 50 yards, doesn't seem realistic at all. I'm not saying Bleach is 100% realistic, but its alot more than Naruto. The Bleach characters look more realistic than Naruto's. Animation wise, Naruto does look childish, looks like Digimon style animation with DBZ style fighting.

i will never forgive naruto for over a year of fillers about peeing and molesting monkies.

to say the truth, after zabuza arc the story was pretty annoying and the abilities became more and more unralted to ninjas, right now those are not shinobis, those are weapons of mass destruction and i really dont understand why the ninjas give a damn about the lords of the land.

This on is easy for me: Bleach. I adore Bleach, but I really can't stand Naruto. One of the main reasons is because it's all I ever hear about and thus gets very annoying. My little sister seems to be convinced that she is madly in love with Deidara, and always brings him up in a serious conversation. "Well, Deidara didn't tell me too!" She is going to be 14 too -.- It drives me insane. That and it has just never interested me. I was skeptical of Bleach at first, but I started watching it after a couple friends said I should give it a try and got hooked XD

well i only watched like two or three episodes of naruto and i didnt want to continue since there's hundreds of episodes after that
but with bleach, even though i started late, i was interested enough to watch from ep 1 until i ran out of episodes and started looking at the manga

At first I loved both equally but it seem to me that Kishi started to let the naruto polls run his manga. Because Sasuke was voted number one in the polls he started to take over the manga. KT seems to allow the manga to drive the fans. When Whitey-chan got the number one spot in the polls he could have put him in the manga more but it seems he just kept on with his story. That is why I love Bleach more because all other characters including the main character Naruto has taken a backseat Sasuke which is killing the manga for me and I am not a Sasuke hater.

Bleach is much better from what I've seen. The concept is more interesting for one thing, and that goes a long way for me. Ancient curse power vs. Soul Reaper Power, I'm liking the soul reapers personally, thanks. Sure Naruto has Ninjas, but ninjas only get you so far. Also I have a feeling that Naruto is more popular with a younger audience.. Too which there are obviously exceptions so don't jump on me about it.

Vizard-Espada - See, I find that comment hilarious, because Bleach has plenty of characters forced on us due to poll numbers alone--Hitsugaya and Ishida being prime examples. Hell, Momo should be dead right now, but I'm sure her place in past polls is what kept her alive. It's not like she's doing anything useful.

Naruto has the deeper story and better in-fight artwork. But Kishi is wildly inconsistent from week to week, and the laser-locked focus on Sasuke is aggravating. Bleach has the better cast, and Kubo does an excellent job of presenting them sincerely; Naruto has always been ham-fisted there. But storywise, Kubo has squandered much of the story's potential, leaving a series of shallow, random encounter battles in his wake. The Gaiden won't change that much.

Also, I can't stand either anime adaptation. Pierrot can't stay consistent with either of them, due to the horrid canon-induced pacing and shit fillers. I gave up on Shippuden a while ago; the tea party in Bleach this week finally turned me away.

I'll just call it a tie. One Piece is my favorite series now, anyway. :p

Bleach, Bleach, Bleach... I tried watching Naruto and Naruto Shippuden. The Shippuden part is better and a great improvement, but I still love Bleach more.

Hey, why is everyone making Naruto and Bleach compete with each other? They're both good animes.

But still, there are opinions and for all aspects, Bleach is better. (for me)

[edit]

Bleach fillers make me go stale. Characters are better but I really don't like the fillers. But still, Bleach is better. Naruto fight are getting more boring by the minute. And comparing the protagonists, Bleach's Kurosaki Ichigo has more depth. Naruto's transition was just shocking. That's all.:D

QUOTE] because Bleach has plenty of characters forced on us due to poll numbers alone--Hitsugaya and Ishida being prime examples.[/QUOTE]

Its a bit offtopic, so i'll tag it

I have to disagree here. Hitsu was always very popular. Ishida also, is a relatively popular character generally looking at the polls. but the recent focus in the HM arc is what caused Ishida's recent "big"popularity/ranking in the pop poll.

He ranked 15 (low if you asked me for a so-called 2nd male lead) in the 3rd poll. so it couldn't be his popularity that caused the focus.
Its Kubo's dragging the Szayel fight for 20 and wasting chapters abusing Renji and Ishida for useless comedy that made Ishida so forced unfortunately.
Kubo abused him and spammed him I say till the captains came, and I hated it. He was a tool that help waste manga panels(talk about degrading the characters. His popularity(ranking 5th) came in the HM arc
(after the partially forced focus on him and not before it).

Besides, going by the 3rd poll, Renji was the 5th. Yet his appearance(unfortunately) in HM arc and his activity was abyssal. If Kubo went by the pop polls, Renji should have gotten far more focus than Ishida.

Ishida focus (atleast in the 2nd part of Szayel fight where things really started to drag) wasn't of fanservicy nature. Ishida was humiliated by Pesshe, Mayuri and Szayel and even Nemu respectively, he was injured, he was mocked, he was weakened and his pride was pretty much flushed in the toilet. whatever focus he had it wasn't of pleasant nature, aka, the type of focus Hitsu generally gets.

Not to forget, he was an outlet for Kubo to waste some chapters. Since Rukia and Chad were down and Ichigo was either fighting or on the ground.
He spammed Ishida instead.

this seemed a bit rantish against Kubo though.so forgive me if the tone was inappropriate:o

More or less agree here.

Naruto has better fights, a better planning for his main cast IMO.
Kubo's handling of 2ndary characters surpasses Kishimoto in Naruto.
Kubo spreads the love more and please the majority of the fans. Naruto, ever since the 2nd part started, the 2ndary characters faded into obscurity i feel.

Hmmm in all honesty I can't decide. Both series have their good and bad points. They both have captivating characters and story lines that have kept me reading for the longest time. Though my opinion of them has dragged since Kishimoto has spent an enormous time focusing on the development of Sasuke which has dwindled my interest, and the HM arc wasn't too great with the consistent fighting.

Personally, I felt my interest spike up in Bleach when Turn Back the Pendulum started and it reminded me of how good it was and even comparable to End of Hypnosis. It was filler yes, but in a way it redeemed Bleach in my eyes. After over 50 chapters of developing Sasuke, Kishimoto has finally moved onto the other part of his plot, so I do find myself looking forward to the Naruto chapters every week. However, Bleach has the upperhand since the winter war has started and I look forward to the events.

Meh, when it comes to the Weekly Jump issue, I can either be satisfied with the Bleach or Naruto chapter (depending on which one is better) so its a win situation either way. I dont read One Piece so I won't bother including that.

Naruto fights are far better, but Bleach fights aren't as bad as everybody says. Bleach is very dramatic, but Naruto builds up a lot of drama as well. There is so much in both stories that really needs to be developed, so it's a toss up for me really. I have my likes and dislikes about both. I really like Bleach because it's Bleach and it's different. Naruto is a true shonen manga. I really can't decide between them.

It's hard to choose.

Bleach and Naruto are two great mangas. Naruto has a great story and plot twists. I believe, the plot twist in Bleach is greater than Naruto (I find the betrayal of Aizen more shocking than Itachi's loyalty to Konoha). Though I find Naruto more touching than Bleach. I cried thrice in Naruto: Asuma's death, Jiraiya's death and the whole Itachi story, especially the poking and "Sorry, Sasuke. This is the last time." (I had to stop reading and cry first..:rotflmao And that page still has some impact on me until now). As for Bleach, I cried in every Kaien-related chapters... :p

The art in Bleach is greater than Naruto especially with the fight scenes.

Argh! It's like this thread wants me to choice between Kakashi, Shikamaru, and Neji and Byakuya, Toushirou and Urahara. :D

I like them both, like a lot of people. It is very hard to say which is better.

In terms of fights, I think Naruto has more opportunities for variations, as jutsu are far more numerous than the abilities of zanpakuto. On the other hand, I think the fights in Bleach are a lot more intense, as they take fewer breaks in the action to analyze their opponents' abilities.

In terms of setting, I think Bleach is probably better for me. It takes place in a more clearly defined universe. It's here and now, but there's a spirit realm. Naruto...is it the past...or the future? Why do they have computers, but no cars? Yes, Bleach has some inconsistencies as well, I'll admit, but they're not as noticeable to me.

As far as characters go it's also really hard to tell. Both main characters are great. Sure, Ichigo's probably a bit smarter, but Naruto's not nearly as stupid as people say...okay, yeah...that bit in a recent chapter where he thought that Kurenai had a large stomach because she ate too much was pretty dumb...but he's still a much better character than Sasuke, who I cannot stand anymore. How fangirls continue to find any sort of goodness in his character is beyond me. None of his actions make any sense. But anyway, both series have large casts which makes it hard to develop the characters. It's really impossible to tell which is better at serving them all though. I think Bleach has a slight lead now that the Turn Back the Pendulum gaiden is over though.

Overall, I'm favoring Bleach currently, probably because I'm just seeing a lot more of it since I'm currently writing a fanfic about it. Also, I'm just a lot more invested in what's happening to the characters. The Naruto anime isn't worth watching currently and the whole Sasuke/Itachi arc was disappointing for me. Although, I do think it's coming back around. As far as character moments, I loved the whole decryption arc. It gave some great screentime to characters who hadn't been around in a while, particularly Shikamaru, who's definitely my favorite Naruto character.

Heh...sorry for the long post...

I posted before... but a long time has come by and my opinion has changed..? xD;

I choose Claymore because it's so much better than both Bleach and Naruto combined. Both series are great in their own way. For characters, they're basically equal I'd say, but Naruto is way more interesting than Ichigo in terms of personality and character (too bad we had a sasugayfest for the last 250 chapters though). I find Bleach to be way more stylish, artistic and imaginative (sword releases for instance), but Naruto is much better in terms of structure (power levels and things of the like are much more consistent than in Bleach). Naruto kills off more characters, which is something Bleach doesn't do (but probably should). Both series are rather uninteresting at the moment though... I'd say they're pretty even.

I like Naruto and Bleach almost equal but Naruto is my favorite Anime/Manga. And Yes so far the Bleach Anime is batter then Naruto Anime but I think that Naruto Manga is batter then is Bleach Manga. I say that because in the Anime the fights in Bleach look cooler then the fights in Naruto and Naruto have too many filters. Ask on a bleach board, get a bleach result. ^_^

I can't really compare the two as "series" since both follow the shonen formula so precisely that trying to say one has a better plot becomes laughable.

Comparing the two based on my personal biases, it becomes a bit easier to choose. Given my usual "Like characters more than I like the series" standard of measurement:

-There are two characters I'm obsessed with in Naruto (Kabuto and Hidan) as opposed to the one in Bleach (Ulquiorra), However, of the two in Naruto, one of them is already in a position where he can no longer contribute to the overall plot, and Ulquiorra has more style and a higher chance of surviving than remaining favorite character.

Thus, the odds of my sticking with Bleach until the end is higher than with Naruto, and thus I like the former better. ^^

It's not a guage of quality, just preference.

As for the fights and designs, Bleach has that dominated ever since the beginning of its run.

As for what series I prefer to read nowadays - Naruto.

I like BLEACH a whole lot better. I just like the art, characters, fights...pretty much everything a lot better.

I came into Naruto at the Haku fight. That was the first issue of SJ I ever purchased. At the time, it barely retained my interest. I didn't consider the art or story to be anything fantastic or amazing, but didn't have much else to do with my time.

When the anime was licensed, I decided I'd ditch the manga and watch it, since it moved faster anyhow. A short time afterwards, I discovered Itachi Uchiha and watched the episode with him. Decided he and Kisame were very cool. Stopped watching Naruto.

Entered back in at the Kimimaro Arc due to a certain fanfiction that was very well-written. Discovered the existence of Akatsuki. Very quickly became a huge Akatsuki-tard. Stopped watching Naruto because it's currently in filler and I heard the filler was bad.

Picked up watching the second Japanese filler arc in subtitles, decided it was pretty good. Stopped watching THAT when it finished. Currently waiting for the Shippuden anime to premiere in October/November in the States.

Meanwhile, I've been reading the Shippuden manga in both versions of Shonen JUMP. I'm rather fond of Sai and the Akatsuki. Thus, since at current over half the Akatsuki is dead, and I don't care about the remaining members except for Konan, Pain, and Kisame...I'm trying to get myself to stop reading that as well. Sasuke also plays into my desire to stop. I'm sick of seeing "Sasuke-Sue," as he's been called, who isn't even the main character...pretty much pwn everyone without trying very hard. :sweat

To be frank, I'm more than a little disillusioned with both right now.

My annoyance with Bleach's tepid Hueco Mundo arc came to a head at the Zaraki vs. Nnoitora fight. Seriously, what's with a month of one dude going "FUCK DONT UNDERESTIMATE ME FUCKER", slashing, and the other going "FUCK FICKITY FUCK FUCK", slash, lots of blood, rinse and repeat. True, Zaraki has never been my favourite character, but even I enjoyed his fight with Ichigo and Tousen. And then there's Aizen in full comic-book villain mode: "You're all down but still not out, so I'm going to tell you idoits ALL of my plans, because you guys will NEVER make a comeback. Nothing can stop me, bwahahaha!"

I stopped following Naruto somewhat later, when it was "revealed" that Itachi was really really trying to protect Sasuke after all. I don't know, but making your brother so mentally unstable that he willingly puts himself in harm's way from Akatsuki-level folk doesn't seem like a very good way to insure the life of your brother. But that's just me. And let's not forget that the curse seal has a 90% chance of killing the recipient. Fine, though, it's a manga, right? But what irritates me the most is that Kishimoto has always retained internal consistency, but this development throws something like three years of foreshadowing and buildup out of the window with the bathwater. Coitus interruptus, much? That, combined with Naruto's blatant plotkai powerups, caused me to stop reading regularly.

Yea, as you can see, I am one unhappy cereal. =(

As for the current Bleach, it's taken a turn for Rurouni Kenshin. These four fights are just to use up four characters while he brainstorms for Ichigo's final fight.

Death Note beats them out. I'm all for Bleach over Naruto, but a life-and-death struggle between two people without actual fighting is pretty damn awesome.

personally i like bleach more than naruto. i used to be a big naruto fan until i found out that its pretty unoriginal. i still read naruto and so far the only thing that keeps me going is how it will end and killerbee and the raikage. but to be fair bleach is getting kind of out there with the vc fights that are going on

Bleach is great and I like it more overall.

The Bleach storyline is dragging its feet pretty badly. Pendulum was a bright spot in a pretty bland Heuco Mundo arc. It had its bright spots but I found it hard to get really excited for more than a chapter or 2 after some plot twist. Naruto's gone up in my opinion cause instead of dragging it's really picking up some momentum. It doesn't really have any arcs as much as it flows from one scene to another. Kubo's still the king of the unexpected, and making it work. But that doesn't hold you like a well done narrative.

Style wise, imo, Bleach wins hands down. Naruto's got a really classic look which is great, the environments are just beautiful. Bleach feels modern and so clean in style. You could take a lot of scenes from Bleach and on their own they look cool. Naruto has only a handful of those instances. It's as if Kubo knows how to make something look cool and works with it. I have a feeling that Kishi is trying sometimes but is still searching. I could be wrong, but it's the vibe I get when at look at Bleach and Naruto.

Composition is one major difference in quality. Kubo's got a great grasp of how to organize a scene for maximum effect and what to emphasize or let fall in the background. Naruto's scenes are sometimes so busy w/ environment and action it's hard to distinguish what's going on, whether an object's actually a person or just a rock.

both are tied currently...

Naruto has interesting things coming up ..sage naruto, pein attacking..but what I hate about it is sooner or later..Sasuke will mess things up again...

Bleach...it's been consistenlty action packed since Aizen came to party at K-town..There was never a dull moment..Stark and Shunsui just made it moar awesome...but the plot just drags..

It is undeniable that Naruto was a very exciting and breathtaking in terms of fighting. I love how the power of the characters here evolve and evolve. It was one of the best.

But Bleach was magnificent, I doesn't even realized that I am becoming too dedicated by this anime. It is near to its perfection.

So, both of these anime were wonderful and great but I'm sticking up for Bleach.:)

Ooh that's a hard one, because I started with Naruto, so I really love that one. But seeing as I rush to read the Bleach manga first every week, I'd have to say Bleach. I love the storyline and it is exciting. So, yeah. Overall, I think Bleach is probably better. The Naruto storyline is dragging along; not very exciting...

Since I don't really watch Naruto, I'm going to have to say Bleach
