I never noticed this thread:headscratch

yeah, i buy it every month

I used to have a subscription, but they would never deliver it on time (i got it almost a month after regular subscribers should)

It bugs me how they put bleach in it, because it slowed down the pace of the volumes, and it means it takes 3 or 4 months for a new volume of my favorite series to come out:(

it would be quickest to read a quick summary on wiki, but heres a general overview

Its the pirate era, and the main character, Monkey D Luffy, dreams to be the king of the pirates. the series is pretty much just him gathering crew members who also have larger than life dreams and their travels across the world

its a great series

I've been subscribed to Shonen Jump America since it first became available in 2004. ^^ I have every single volume.

I was tempted to end my subscription when they pulled Hikaru no Go. *damn them!* but I'll likely keep it going since they have bleach now, and I'd like to see YYH finished.

29.99 is a very reasonable annual price, so I can't complain there. ^^

I like the SJ magazine, but it sucks they won't release volumes ahead of it, so when they put bleach in it, the volume release rate slowed epically

im glad they removed HNG, that series is too good to only get 2 volumes a year:sweat

same with Shaman King

and Naruto shouldn't be given such special treatment:lmao

Well, Naruto is the only title they have that's guaranteed to make it into the newsweek top 150 new book list every time, so it stands to reason that they give it a bit of royal treatment. ^^ The only other manga to ever make that list have been Death Note (back when it was still being released), a few volumes of Bleach, and Fruits Basket.

yea, but they give naruto 5 or 4 (whatever top get the next volume out) chapters a month, OP and Bleach get 3...sometimes 2

not to mention when they released 3 volumes a month for 4 months......OP deserves that and then some :cry 9but that is more of me complaining about VIZ)

:lmao

the reason they release more naruto chapters is because its there top seller. But ypur right they shouldnt give it special treatment its kinda sad to see Shaman King go though.

Oh and thanks for the briefing Rain. By the way what are the green dots under the Avatar

yeah, but if they put 5 chapters of naruto in, and just 1 of Hikaru no go how do hey expect people to get into it :XD

I'm glad HNG was removed, now we get 6 volumes a year instead of like 2 :yay

the green dots are rep

I borrow it from my brother, who subscribes. Cheaper that way. :p There's not really anything I want to read in it anymore though. I read BLEACH and display mild interest in Yu Yu Hakusho and Naruto:Shippuden; but that's it. *misses Shaman King* I haven't really read it since they took it out of the mag because I'm trying to keep up with too many other series like Elemental Gelade and Tactics. :-_-
