I can imagine him just sat there reading a book or filing his nails or something in that dimension. It will be a few hours not too long when he gets out i doubt the dimension will hold him for more than 3-4 tbh.

I had made this long time back regarding Ulqi stabbing Ichi ..


We always felt hollows saw humans/souls as nothing but food source but as we go more into the psyche of Arrancars Hollows it may be different than our previous assumption. As any class of menos or hollows for that manner were humans and became what they are by force or natural process of chain decay . Somewhere in there mind all they do seek is for humanity

I mean we never want to look like our food source ? but they do . There strong hatred for anything human may be related to a complex. Somewhere deep down due to their appearance they do feel inferior to humanity and express it in rage/hatred. They do consider themselves superior beings but deep inside they are longing for humanity

There have been three instances where this happened

* Instance 1 : Chapter 191 Appearance of Yami & Ulqi

- “ They kept staring at me like a freak “

Yami is pissed off that humans stare at him as though he is an anomaly. Also he does feel humans are mocking his appearance in general. But humans cant see Arrancars to begin with . When he is reminded he retorts .

“ I know I know but I still don’t like it “


* Instance 2 : Chapter 267 Espada9’s Vanity

- Vanity or Complex

Other than the fact he hated his real appearance he did go through a lot of trouble to conceal his identity. Even after Rukia found out his true form he still morphed into Kaien . To be more detailed he sonido past Rukia just so that he could transform again . When Rukia stares in disbelief he answers

“ If its about my face We both long since grown tired of hearing opinion about this face “


* Instance 3 : Chapter 277 GJ’s revelation about Ulqi

- Placement of the stab hole

When GJ comes across an injured Ichi other than the fact he is pissed. He is sure its Ulqi due to the placement of stab hole. He reveals that Ulqi has an odd conscious / subconscious habit of stabbing people exactly where his hole is situated. Is this Ulqi way of expressing angst for being imperfect less humanoid? Is this a subconscious effort at making everyone like him so he won’t be an oddity no more? GJ’s exact words were

" This is a wound he would make. I don’t know if even he knows it or not, but when he finds prey that interests him he ends up opening a hole in him/her in the same spot as his ".



Note : This may be an over analysis but it leads to interesting speculation

Glad you liked it these thoughts came to my mind when that chapter came out . We all had a misconception all hollows are bad all hollows have a one track mind . But these myths were broken with Desert Brothers

If you draw parallels to SS Counterpart same could be said after Renji and Bya's appearance in Karakura . The first Espada we came to know properly was Espada 9 these thoughts came to my mind at that point

This is my interpretation of the character I may be wrong here . Though by appearance Ulqi appears emo actually he is Emostatic . He rarely displays emotions . I found him extremely robotic in the beginning .

Actually he may conceal his emotions to harden himself as a killer .Overanaylisis again but just a thought

Notes : "Ulquiorra" is a bastardized spanish spelling of the name "Urquiola"--but hey, KT calls the calls. There's no "official" Spanish dictionary (the Royal Academy of Spain) or any other dictionary that starts with a "urq" (or any variation thereof).

I am scared simply coz GJ was so built up these 3 chapter I expected his release to be spectacular but it turned out so bad. I am scared due to that for Ulqi.

Based on my gut feeling, I don't think Ulqui's release would be horrible... He might have horns like a bull since his hollow mask has one horn, and I imagine that Ulquiorra will be covered in heavy-looking armor. But, I suspect that we won't have to see Ulquiorra have a release, just like we didn't see Zenpachi's any form of release-- although Zenpachi is way strong in his own way. From what I see so far, Ulquiorra seems to fight with just what he is now.

Based on Assumption that Ulqi is the last boss of this arc . As Ulqi dons Bya role in HM I speculate a fight between GJ and Ulqi similar to RenjiVsBya before meeting Ichi as his opponent

Yeh I really don't see how this can happen unless Ichigo loses to Grimmjow. This scenario could happen also if Ulquiorra reappeared during their fight but I don't really see why he would jump in to fight Grimmjow when Ichigo is around and able to fight still. As for Ulquiorra taking on the role Byakuya had in soul society...I really hope not.There is already too many similarities and it makes the plot predictable. If he is mirroring Byakuya then we already know the outcomes le sigh...so yeh I hope Kubo makes things turn out differently. As for being the last boss...yeh I love to see Ulquiorra in action XD but I really think its time we saw the head villan fight...Aizen sama (as if this will happen...><).
Ulquiorra has fought Ichigo already...its too soon for a rematch IMO. I really hope this arc wraps up completely different to Soul Society cos like yeh...its been done, give us something new Kubo. I am hoping for something unpredictable. Id like Ulquiorra to come back soon but I personally would like to see the outcome of the Grimm/Ichi fight to be sure what options there are for Ulquiorra to go in.

I don't think we will see Ulqui til after the fight is over and the story goes to another POV. I'm not expecting to see him for awhile actually, though I will be thrilled if he is in it earlier. :D When he gets out, I am postive he will go straight to Hime again wherever she happens to be at that point. If Grimmy is still around after his fight Ichi, Ulqui is not going to waste his time fighting him. He is going to do his duty to Aizen, which is take care of Hime.

juu and I were discussing this a few days ago and does anyone else find some of the things Ulqui does really weird? Like when he first goes to Earth to capture Ichigo, he thinks to himself that Ichigo could be a threat to Aizen, but when Yourichi and Urahara show up, he beats a hasty retreat and then basically lies to Aizen saying that Ichigo isn't a threat at all. Also Grimmjow at that meeting tells Ulqui that he thinks he just got scared and that is why he left without killing Ichigo. At the time I just thought that Grimmy was trashtalking him, but Grimmy is really perceptive and reads others really well. He again says to Ulqui when he fights him later in the story that he knows Ulqui is scared to fight him. Which is obviously the case since he lets Grimmy own him in that fight.

It's funny because we have this image of all the Espada being so badassed and fearless, but as it has been mentioned time and again in the manga, hollows are born from fear and aren't fearless at all. In fact they are in awe of Aizen because he is fearless. I have a big hunch that Ulqui is afraid of death and dying. He's just had too many weird reactions and comments made about him pertaining to death to dismiss it lightly. No matter what the reasons for Ulqui's actions, I always find him immensely fascinating in every scene that he is in. I don't think he is predictable at all. The other arrancar that we see (with a couple of exceptions so far) are pretty much what you see is what you get...these badassed fighters that enjoy taking down those weaker than them. Which is cool of course and expected in such a story as Bleach, but I really like how it seems that Ulqui has so much more going on under the surface. God only knows what he is thinking half the time. Which makes him hard to write fanfic about, but awesome to read about and try to predict his next move.

I have some more thoughts about Ulqui, but this is already long enough as it is on one topic, so I will come back with the others later. ;)

I don't think Ulquiorra wants to fight without a really good reason to do so. Thats all i can possibly think of for his rather odd actions. I think too he could be saving his release and such for the winter battle i really cannot see it in this arch at all. Exactly. An', as of the moment, he is of course trapped in another dimension. I sometimes wish we knew how much time progressed through the manga chapters, 'cause we have no clue how much time has elapsed an' how much longer Ulquiorra will be trapped within the negacion dimension. If we knew, then its possible that we could better tell what he's goin' t' do when he gets out. All of our guesses are irrelevant if he doesn't escape before the fightin' is over. XD

An' I seriously doubt Ulquiorra has found the need t' use his release yet. He defeated Ichigo without it, so I doubt he'd need it unless he was challenged by someone stronger. Although, it would be interestin' t' see him face off against released Grimmjow. However, the fact that he seems obsessed over his orders t' protect and care for Orihime seems t' point towards that if he does escape, he'll tend t' her first before anythin' else.

Maybe embarassed is not the right word...but, allot of his panels in the manga show him without the sword and he's never touched it. True, that could be for many reasons, but still...makes me wonder...

True, but that doesn't necessarily kill. The fact that he does that shows there's something we really don't know about Ulquiorra, whether it be an insecurity or hidden emotions and thoughts behind his stoic exterior. I do hope we learn a bit more about him soon.

And on that note of Ulqui killing or not, when he fought Ichigo he told him to give up before he did his chest stabby thing. Of course Ichi nevers surrenders, so he refused. I found that interesting and also that he left Ichigo alive after standing around and debating it for like half an hour. :P I think he is the first arrancar that we have seen asking for surrender instead of outright killing his opponent and the only one we have seen leaving their opponent alive if they were in a position to kill them, which Ulqui was.

he is not merciful(that is if anyone took him giving Ichigo the chance to give up merciful). He doesn't give a rats ass about who he kills or who dies as long as Aizen is not dissatisfied, however he does not like taking part in pointless acts.

1. He can blow two fodder shinigami apart without a care in the world, although some might view it as entirely unnecessary
2. He provokes Ichigo enough to test his powers - this also shows another side of Ulquiorra, he hungered to see Ichigo's true battle prowess in action
3. Once he's defeated an opponent, he doesn't feeling like wasting his time and killing them. However, if the opponent refuses to comply he will not hesitate to do whatever is necessary.

I must say though the one thing that's trait that's higher than the others is his ability to calculate. I just felt like posting this :D carry on

Oh and to the poster eariler that said that Ulquiorra was really cold and callous...I actually agree with you, to an extent. He is both the coldest arrancar that we have seen and the most emotionally conflicted one. It's those two things that make him so fascinating and hard to predict. It also makes him REALLY hard to write fanfic of (take it from me ;) ), because it is so hard to tell just what in the hell is going on in his head. I have my ideas (I personally think he feels emotion and deeply and hates it), but there is no way to know for sure til we are either told outright or given more info about him.

So there seems to be a lot of speculation about as to Ulqui's first move when he gets out of his prison. What is the general consencous here in his FC? I've heard a lot of people who think he is going to go after Grimmjow first thing (if Grimmy is still alive at that point that is ;) ). I personally vote for going after Hime first thing. I don't think he'll do anything else til she is back someplace safe. Then as to what he does next is anyone's guess. I find Ulqui's actions hard to predict. The chapter with him coming out will be awesome though, no matter what he does! :D

It really depends on how far things have gone by the time he gets out. If Ichigo an' Grimm are still fightin', I can see him whiskin' off Hime while they're distracted. If the fight is already over, I can see him firstly tellin' Ichigo t' give him Orihime, an' when Ichigo refuses, Ulqui fighiting him, or possible, Hime optin' to go with Ulqui so she can protect Ichigo. But that seems like too much fightin' for poor Ichigo...and if Hime makes that choice...than nothin' will have been accomplished in this arc at all...

I also think it depends on how far things have come along once he gets out. The scenario I can really see happening is Ichigo leaving Grimm defeated (since I doubt he'd actually kill him...) and leaving with Orihime and Nell to go find Chad and Rukia. After they're gone, Ulquiorra will come quietly out of nowhere and stand over Grimm, and perhaps talk down to him ("So you lost" or something similar. Even though he seemed kind of pissed when Grimm locked him in that caja negacion, I think Ulquiorra would still keep his composure when he sees him again).

Whether or not he helps Grimm, kills him, or leaves him for dead, I think he'd then go after Ichigo and Orihime.

He takes him on both of his missions to the real world (though Yammi is pretty worthless both times ;) ). He brings his arm back for him and checks up on him to see how the reattachment is going. He also calms Yammi down when Grimmy is trashtalking him. LOL! I never really noticed all that before. It got brought to my attention when someone in the Ulquihime FC said they thought Ulqui hit Yammi in the stomach the first time they went to earth because he hurt Hime. I personally don't know if that was the reason or not, but that comment starting me thinking that except for that one incident Ulqui treats Yammi pretty well. Though Lord only knows what he sees in the big brute! LOL!

That theory actually doesn't sound half bad.

There's another theory that was going around saying Noitora, Ulqui, Grimm, Yammi, and Zael are a team (based on their speculated numbers) and that had something to do with it. (The two being sandwiched in between the powers) Though that theory is completely based on speculated rankings, not making it that accurate.

Although I do see what you mean now, Geta Boshi. It's not like they're particularly paired together for missions and stuff, they just work well together because Yami accepts his role as an underling and Ulqui has a superior, right? I think, like you said, that probably can be seen throughout the whole Espada group. (At least that's what I got from it...)

As far as Ulqui's fraccion, I seriously doubt they're Loli and Menoli. Them two seem more 'closer' to Aizen then anyone else. I think if he does have fraccion, they haven't been shown yet...adding more to his secrecy. (I seriously hope he has fraccion, cool and mysterious ones) Can't wait! :p

Ulquiorra's fraccion? I honestly doubt he has any, now - actually I think Yami might have been his fraccion before becoming an Espada. Lolly and Menolly are quite obviously Aizen's servants/sexslaves, they just seem to respect Ulquiorra far more than they respect Grimmjow. Can't blame them.

Ah. If he does have fraccions, Ulq might be keeping them in some weird dimension, a sort of Espada-refrigerator; I'm sure he pulls them out when he needs them. I cannot imagine someone like him keeping pests with him all the time - he'd get majorly pissed off. Ulq needs his silence.

Maybe he has fraccion like Beetlejuice. They hide in a different dimension, and when he needs them he just calls them forth! That way there's no real personal connection, but they still exist. :o Just throwing out ideas...

The moment Szayel mentioned how every Espada could choose their own fraccion, I immediately wondered what Ulqui's was like. Like people here have said, he seems the loner type that would be more annoyed than served by minions. I think that Szayel said that every Espada did have one though, though the numbers very from one up to tons of them, which implies that Ulquiorra does have one. I have a feeling he would be one of the Espada that only chose one (probably a really quiet and really competent) minion.

It's not only the fact he has tear marks that makes Ulquiorra remind me of an emo teen (in fact his tear marks don't really have anything to do with it at all). It's his whole attitude...the everything is trash and worthless of my attention so reminds me of a real emo teen's view the world. You know, those teens that have been hurt time and again where they just don't want to care about anything anymore. I have no idea if that is the case with Ulquiorra or if we will even find out, but that is the way his outlook on life strikes me. And I agree that he is cold, calm and calculating too...just not that is all that he is. Yet his character really can be read either way in the manga, and it could very well turn out that I am wrong. ;) Just throwing some thoughts out here is all.

That rumour about the hougyoku being stolen and Ulqui being beaten by some filler arrancar's buddies is from the Newtype site I think... so... there's a good chance that it's real. >_<

I'm not afraid of the anime killing him off. I mean, even if the anime were going to break off from the manga and do its own thing it'd make absolutely no sense to kill off a popular villain so early. So I'm not worried about that.

...What I AM worried about is the filler writers (and animators, can't forget them!) totally messing up Ulquiorra's character and making him look like a weakling who can't even take on some lame filler arrancars. And that, I believe, is completely within their capacity to do. >_<

The only good thing about the Arrancar fillers, as well as the fact that they are doing the 'air and episode, take a break' approach, is that it would seem that we are getting closer to going back to canon. ^_^ Hopefully by September the story will be back on track.

But yeah, I wouldn't be to worried about the 'Ulquiorra dies' thing from the title. That happened in another anime as well, and...it didn't happen. I think they just call it that to get people's attention. ^_^;;

But...I've always had this theory, that is....What purpose does Wanderweiss serve in the story? It should be noted that his original form is rather small (so likely a vasto lorde) and when he went to the living world with the gang last time, Soul Society reported him to be of Espada-rank. Yet he has no number yet...so I'm guessing he'll be replacing Grimm, or Ulqui.

Reason for Grimm is obvious since he's probably going to die/get kicked out. But some part of me always hoped that Ulqui would do something to betray Aizen and get kicked out too (but not dead!) and Wanderweiss will take his place as No. 4.

Ditto on GrimmUlqui/UlquiGrimm, Cezaria. For some reason even though I'm not slash-intolerant, I could never really grasp any Bleach shounen-ai pairings (yaoi included). And while Ulquiorra and Grimmjow do have a sort of mutual hatred going on, that's all there is. Kubo's made it pretty clear so far that he's going the het road.
Besides, Shounen Jump can only take so much BL going on in it... :love Kishimotohun xD

Pretty much it said that Ulquiorra shows up and *takes* Grimmjow. As my Japaneses isn't great I don't know if by takes it means actually takes him somewhere or kills etc...so yeh there isn't much point reading it anyways but I was just really mentioning it because I want Ulquiorra to be in the manga again.
