Through the fire and flames looks rediculous on expert. But yeah, I'm probably going to pick it up for the wii since I had GH II for the ps2.

Carcinogen Crush is an unreleased track from AFI's 2003 album 'Sing the Sorrow' which will be available for download as a bonus playable song on GH III when you buy the soundtrack. There is massive debate about whether it will be as good as their other Sing the Sorrow stuff or if they will have altered it so it's more like the tracks on Decemberunderground.

Absolutely epic. I myself will be waiting for the EP since I have no desire to purchase Guitar Hero. Anyways just had to add my two cents worth. AFI is my first love, Bleach is further down the list... :p

Seriously?! I did not know this. In any case, if it's anything like the rest of the tracks on Sing the Sorrow... then :crazy. Can't wait for the EP.
On topic: This game looks like a lot of fun. Although since I only have a PS2 and the first Guitar Hero, I don't think I'll be playing this for a long time. XD

Got it for my apartment. "Through The Fire And Flames" by Dragonforce is absolutely ridiculous on Expert. (Not that I expected different from a Dragonforce song.) Song list isn't bad, but the game is really just another iteration of GH.

I got it. I got the PS2 version though since I dont own any next-gen consoles yet, so there goes the online gameplay out the window (wiki said ALL versions would support online capabilities. lesson learned: never trust wiki ever again).
Anyways, Im pretty disappointed with the game. It was hyped too much that it makes you have big expectations but quite frankly, it's not that different from GHII. The pull-offs and hammer-ons are a bit easier to perform this time around, although the difficulty is higher as well. I have a hard time with some songs on Hard.
The new Battle Mode is pretty lame imo. Making your opponent miss notes in order for you to win is the cheapest way to win a guitar battle. Besides, I'd rather play through the whole song and actually hear it rather than have to go through the nasty noises your opponent does when the notes are missed because I "attacked" him. Battle mode ftl.
Same goes for the boss battles. Morello and Slash's battle songs sound sweet, they wrote them themselves, but since you're battling them and your point is to make them miss notes and they do the same to you, the songs sound horrible! It would've been better to just play through the whole songs and the one with the higher score wins. You can also literally make them lose 30 secs into the song, so it's no fun at all.
The soundtrack is a definite plus, I love most of the songs. Though no Led Zeppelin again blows. All in all, GHIII is NOT what people made it to be prior to release. And once Rock Band is out, Im sure it'll overshadow GH and chances of a actual new GH that brings some new and good to the table ever coming out are slim.
Final thoughts. Just rent it first to see if it meets your expectations.
Though if you have a 360, (PS3's online and Wii's Wi-fi dont compare to Xbox Live) buy it cause maybe the online gameplay alone could be worth your money.

Yeah I agree with the battles, i don't really like them. I like most of the artists on GH3 but I don't really like the songs they picked. @@

OH man! I want it so bad But i need to buy The PlayStation 3 XD! My friend Has it on Xbox-360 and I Died And went to heaven.
It was So Freaking Awsome! I loved it so much I had Thought that third one would blow my mind with the diffculties and it Did. All the songs did Exactly what I was hoping for.
But My favorite song out of all them is Devil Went down to Gorgia that was the best on expert. also playing the battle mode on it was really fun.
I could not believe it on devil went down to goregia that i scored a 98% on my first try :O I was Happy My friend was mad at me because I beat his score by a long shot. XD
I Also herd that this Is supposed to have over 30,000 songs that you can Download off the internet. There is another reason for me to be happy.
Hey here is a question does Japan has a guitar hero version there? If they do i want to buy It!

I have this game on the XBOX 360! Awesome game! Through the fire and flames definitely makes the whole game worth it. I love the bonus tracks as well, specially Ruby. Btw, I also have Guitar Hero 2 on the 360 with both guitar controllers. I love playing co-op on those two games!

I just noticed a "cheats" option in the game's Options. Anyone know what they are for?
grey.
01-13-2008, 02:27 AM
You play different riffs on the cheats screen to unlock different, uh, cheats. There's hyperspeed (the most commonly used one, makes the fretboard move much much faster), performance mode (play without the HUD and fretboard), precision mode (forces you to hit notes more accurately), and I think a few others. Cheats were in the first two games also, but you inputted them on the title screen and it didn't save them, you had to put them in every time.
I didn't like Guitar Hero 3 as much as 2. The art style is much more generic, the song list is generally mediocre, and a lot of songs on expert are overcharted (case in point: the three-note chords in 3s and 7s make the song harder to play in the game than on an actual guitar). Also, I got the Wii version of GH3, which makes me feel ripped off due to the PS2-quality graphics, missing stereo/surround sound, and lack of downloadable content. I'm much happier with Rock Band, which I got for my recently-acquired Xbox 360.

Got this for my Wii barely touching Hard Mode slightly moving to Expert. Damn Wii Guitar suck when compared to the PS2 guitars.

I'm used to the xbox 360 controller. Can do pretty well on expert in most songs...last couple give me a hard time. Can barely pass "Through Fire and Flames" on Medium. XD
