this is one of my favorite anime. it was so great. it has everything. action, romance etc..i would recomend anybody to watch. its about vampires, but reallistic ones.

The first anime series I finished. It was the anime that got me back into anime. Great plot, good characters, mysterious/interesting. Whats not to like about it?

Yeah you really should watch it. Full of blod, gore tradegy, drama, emotion, a few odd laughs in it as well. Left a good ending as well very open wonder if that could trigger anything or not in the future. Doubt it though >.<

0__o wow 24 episodes in just a few days lol. my advice is take it slow, cause once its over you'll still want more.


No manga O___O' hmm strange, wiki said there were graphic novels about the the main story, saya and hagi's adventures, and one just about hagi.

I wouldn't totally believe Wikki but i know there is a manga directly linked to the story itself but i couldn't tell you where to find it i read it a while back.

Really i didn't mind Saya to be honest i mean sometimes i did want to hit her over the head and go COME ON GET ON WITH IT. But shes gone through a lot of pain and confusion. Meh guess the sympathy vote hit me. Haji is so ftw.

I agree with ShadarHaran don't rush it because you do want more in the end. I watched it as it came out so i don't know what blood+ overload is like xD

There is no Blood+ manga.....

Er...yes there is (even if it's quite a bit different from the anime). It just hasn't been released in the US though. The first two volumes were scanlated and I can upload them for anyone who wants them. :p

I really loved the anime though, and I hope they make a sequel series someday. <3

I just can't help it...i need to see it!:D not that every episode is interesting or something but well...just 20 more epis to go and I wonder what will happen to Kai, I really like him! he's almost the only one who doesn't annoy me to death, Saya does though! Gah how I hate female protagonists...>.<

I used to find this series quite boring and tedious but once Diva made her grand debut I was hooked for the rest of the series

This Anime Was one of my favorite. I Thought it would scare me I hate horror problems involving my past is what got to hate. some of things you guys wouldn't even believe. but I realized that anime horror is something that I can watch.

This was a perfect anime. action, drama, romance suspence, sad yes verg of tears sad. well to me anyway. I like the super long history of how everything took place leading to the end results can't tell STUPID spoiler isnt working or i dont know how to run it. XD

There ain't no such thing! I really enjoyed this but I never ended up finishing it. Hey did any of you watch the Blood, The Last Vampire stuff before you started Blood+ ? I believe it deals with Saya's backstory, all the stuff that happened when she was in Vietnam(?).

its a movie about saya...butits not really blood+, it came out way b4. blood+ is like based on it. you dnt need to watch it, its nothin to do with the show kinda...

and they're ealistic cos they are vamires made by science and stuff lol

I always thought that Blood+ was really good anime, that could have been great. I loved the opening episode I always thought it was one of the best opening episodes out there. The only problem I have is that I always wanted Saya to become a real badass and she always seemed to be on the cusp of it, at the start it was a lack of confidence as well as being scared, then towards the end, once she got her determination and drive, she was always tired because of her oncoming deep sleep. It's not that she never had the skills, it more that there was always something in the way.

Aah yeah..I finished watching this show 2 weeks ago or something and felt kinda betrayed by it.

The ending is what I expected but not at the same time and MAN, did that Saya annoy me to bits..Gah, I soo hate her! The only 'fun' person that kept me watching was Kai, and oo yeah..Van Argeno<---Suwabe for the win here:yell Ah and how can I forget Saya's blood buddy..ehm..the tall guy! I liked him alot too. Too bad he needed to protect Saya all the time>.>

That's exactly it, Saya annoyed me through the series, it all goes back to the fact that you expected her to become a really brave, interesting, action hero, instead we got someone who questioned herself throughout the story. Its not that I expected her to not have any mental issues, it's just that the action could have been better. I think another problem that the show had, was that you only had really 2 characters on the good side that could actually fight, meaning that weak yet cool characters like Kai or David, could only stand there and hope to slow the monsters down with sporadic weapons fire, they do this well but there is only so long before shooting a shotgun or pistol becomes somewhat boring and repetitive. I think one thing that didn't help for me personally is that I saw the movie before the anime, in the movie Saya is much more aggressive and commanding.

If I had to give a rating to Blood+ I would give it a 8.5, meaning that while awesome in its own ways, it falls short of its potential. I think Darker than Black is a good comparison in terms of a very good anime that could have achieved greatness with a few tweaks.

Ahh..I've never seen the movie (never as in the past few weeks since I watched the anime:p). Is it a good flick?

Its okay, It doesn't really integrat well with the anime, Saya has a slightly different character model, What is interesting is that both English and Japanese is used in the movie giving the apperence of being made for both markets, Its set in the 1960/70s one of those time frames, in Okinawa a lot of it set in the Military base there. The only things that seems the same is that she uses a katana, and that one of her handlers is named David, other than that there are little to no corralations with the anime, this also means that there is no Hagi, not even a word is spoken about him I believe.

The Movie I believe was made before the anime, and was called Blood the Last Vampire I believe. Overall the movie is okay, Its not epic, but if you have 1 1/2 to 2 hours to burn its alright. Movie does end with a little hint to what happens in the anime, but it doesn't mesh that well. Its kinda of like they knew they were going to do a anime, and they tried to predict ahead of time what all the story elements were going to be, but they failed a little, with the aforementioned details about things such as Hagi being absent. out of 10 I would give it about a 7.8

I dont understand why people hate Saya so much, Shes just a main character with alot of flaws. I found it really interesting how she grew and was able to overcome them as the story progressed.

Its not that I hate Saya at all, I just feel that she could have been more. I really like how she interacted with her adopted family, I also like how she did have to deal with a lot of emotional issues, especially considering the stress that she went through, in short I like Saya. I just felt that at times the action could have been slightly better, I mean when we did see a focused and motivated Saya she did a good job, its just that it seemed like things got in the way of her being that exciting action star, I personally wanted more fights like her second fight with Karl for instance.

I haven't seen the anime in about nine months so my recollection of everything may be a little off, I just remembered Saya either being scared and not fighting, or being tired and not able to fight at full capacity. I do think that it was completly understandable that she was scared and that her capabilities were slow in developing. Perhaps if what I am suggesting had happend, then the story would have suffered, in which case I am glad that they didn't let the story suffer in compensation for action junkies.

As for Saya, I was a little indifferent towards her, but I suppose I like her now? She isn't another stereotypical heroine that just cries instead of fighting, so I suppose that I do like her quite a lot. Diva was better, though.

Blood+ is a tad bit too slow for me. Things didn't start getting interesting until Diva was introduced, and even then I didn't follow it. Riku and Kai also kepted me from not enjoying the series. Big brother, younger brother duties, yeah, I get that, but it's all annoying.

I get really annoyed when Kai keeps on giving that "I will/must protect Saya" speech.

With Riku dead though, it is a lot easier to watch the series now.

I watched Blood+ and I liked the series. People can tell by my avatar. Honestly, I did'nt find the series good during the first dew episodes. Although, around episode 20 it got interesting and very nice.

I got attached in the first 6 episodes with George... I didn't even wanna see the action scenes, just simply hooked on the characters...

did you guys ever consider other pairings along the way besides Haji x Saya? maybe Kai x Saya, Muiy x Riku, the photographer and the rich girl... etc

blood+ is simply one of my fav anime ever~ i love the early episodes up until the 20's+. (episode 22 is my fav. watched it more than twice) but when the shiff interfered, the animation was a bit rough, and that was when saya missing in action..i like her character just because she is flawed. but i really hoped that she can get stronger like diva instead of depending heavily on haji~ and haji is just too cool, the coolest chevalier form among all imo ;p oh, and the OP rocks. especially Hyde 'Season's calling'.

other pairing that i root for is Mao and that photographer guy~ they fight like a married couple and that's adorable.

In my opinion , Blood + was a decent to good series. Really enjoyed the story around Saya and Diva , as well as the overall Atmosphere of the show.

The weak side of the show definately are its characters ... Only one of the bunch showed real developpment and got my admiration in the end ( Kai ). As for Haji , although he was kinda cool , he was jsut as boring ... because his attitude remained the same the fist 49 1/2 episodes ...
Saya didn't developp in the way that i imagined her to ...
Diva and Amshell were quite obviously your stereotypical badguys , Solomon may
have been the only other Character that got any developpment at all.

Thats basically it. These 6 Characters ( along with Riku , David and the red shield leader ) would have been enough to keep the story going. Quite frankly , i didnt understand as to WHY there were so many other characters. Divas 3 other chevaliers had NO meaning to the story whatsoever other than ... setting up as ennemys for different arcs ...

The Schif were just another way of putting in another 10 Episodes ( what exactly did any of them contribute to the story ? :S )

Also ... that Mexican or Black guy really annoyed the hell out of me :/

My worst criticism however goes to the fighting scenarios ... it is obvious that Riku is the one character to put some drama into the show , but it was just so ridiculous how helpless he was ... As for Haji ... did anyone else think that he is a rather poor Chevalier ? When did he ever accomplish something besides in his last fight with Amshell ? He usually gets knocked out after the first initial blows are exchanged ...

As for my final critic point : the look of the Chieropterans ... and the Chevaliers in their Chieropteran forms ... damn was i happy that Haji never completely evolved ... they just all looked so ridiculous.


Still , the Series gets a 7,5/10 from me , because of the overall very good story which contained quite a number of plot twists , as well as for some very nice dramatic scenes.

Has anyone gotten the box set released by Sony? It's a little pricey, but worth it since you get probably the ONLY officially licensed shirt (which is a big deal for me, because I collect my favorite anime shirts) And I like 25 episodes per box set, even though there are only 4 episodes on a disc. :hm

Does anyone know when the second box set is going to be released?
