Not sure if there is already a thread like this, if so just close it.

Anyway, if you could have any super power what would it be? Why? ( I was curious since I've been watching heroes, and on that note, peter's power (the power to absorb other powers and use them whenever you want) is off limits)

I persoanally think the capability to be able to control time would be pretty awesome. I'm a huge history buff, and it'd be cool to see a lot of the things first hand. Plus being able to stop time around you could lead to a lot of cool things being able to be done ( and maybe some pranks too xD)

Maybe I wasn't clear enough, you have to pick ONE power. Time control though allows for a teleportation of sorts, since you can stop time and move yourself, it will seem like your teleporting to other people. So if you want a power that allows you to do mutiple cool things, think of one power that allows you to do some cool things, but it can't be something like "it gives me all the powers possible" or whatever.

No it doesn't work like that. Super strength would only make you super strong. You'd be able to punch things really hard. Strength has nothing to do with the capability to fly, since a lot of weaker heroes in comics can fly, and it definitely has nothing to do with the capability to be super sonic. Pick ONE power. The whole thing is about making your ULTIMATE choice.

Because its the coolest power ever...Duh..You can create or destroy, fuse or tear apart atoms or molecules, you could even travel through objects by temporarily becoming them or making and repairing a passage as you pass.....Of course Dr Manhattan was blue and naked...I hope thats not a side-effect :p

A power that absorbs all other powers, that way I can cheat and do what ever I like. Playing by the rules I guess I would choose the power to become invisible at will and anything I touch with my hands while invisible also becomes invisible but only if I want it to.

I'd want to be able to fly or teleport. Teleporting would just be awesome. No need to drive or take public transport. Also another thing would be teleporting more than yourself. With clothes and other objects would be good:p

Imagine travelling overseas too! You could visit hundreds of countries in a day and see so many people! I swear if they ever make a proper teleporter which can do these things, someone is going to be damn rich and imagine how much they'd charge!

Super speed (version quicksilver) Body/mind has the durability/ability to react at speeds going post mach 3. That's sound barrier breaking. That's getting anywhere you need to be when you need to be there. There's also the strength that comes with having muscles developed enough to withstand that, the enchanced metabolism so you always look good. Tack on a little circular martial arts, and you will pretty much never be in danger. YOu can fight crime if you want, but I'd rather run tournaments and seek out kung fu masters. Train enough and I can run over water.

Stand (a la JoJo's Bizarre Adventure). Your fighting instincts personafied with abilities that suit you? Tell me how this is not great. Also, while the stand is invisible to the normal eye, it can still fully affect the material world. Not to mention what ability would you get? Elemental manipulation, space travel, time travel, or something totally out of the box like echo act?

Ah, here's an evil one. The ability to incite feelings (as in nerve sensations) as well as emotional feelings within people. For instance, ooh ahh I can instill fear. More importantly, you even gotten an itch that just got worse and worse over time even if you scratched it? Imagine sensations like that, all over, during a life or death struggle.

Ki/spiriton manipulation (a la Ishida) I'm sure other series have the same concept, but noone ever focuses on the idea. Not even the quincies. They can make bows and fuel attacks? Ooh ah, screw that. Try remaking rooms, or fortifying your home from being broken into. Basic ability to snatch energy from anything and manifest it into matter and/or energy? Yes please.

I wanted to be near omnipotent...I also wanted to be neutral...Because, having the ability to do anything makes it pointless, and you end up doing nothing. I chose Dr, Manhattan's power because I loved the contrast in Watchmen..Most heroes didn't have any powers and the one who did could make Superman piss his pants...HE became disillusioned and less and less human..He eventually found he couldn't even relate to other people. the thing is, whatever power you pick, if you have enough imagination you can be near unstoppable with that ability, The growing and changing of powers has been touched on heavily in X-Men
Pyrokinesis- over time you could develop so much that you are able to become hot enough to set the atmosphere on fire, or you could use fires to suck the air out of spaces and suffocate people...If you're not careful and are trying to be a hero you could do that by accident anyway
Cryokinesis- If you think its cool to freeze people, how about realizing that when you freeze cells haphazardly, you destroy the cell walls and kill the individual? Thats emotionally scarring
Magic- No not Harry Potter magic, More like Wonder Woman magic. In Kingdom Come, when Superman was resistant to Nuclear bombs and even Kryptonite to a certain degree, Wonder Woman's magic sword sliced through his finger like butter when he touched it. If you wanna go Dr. Strange on me, you can use your magic to manipulate time and space, fix spacial rifts, and effectively live outside reality.
Of course if you're doing a story, you don't start off that powerful. If you start off manipulating fire, as a beginner, you can make a grilled cheese sandwich or give a hot foot to some jerk. Even my power, control over matter at the molecular level, as a beginner there are tons of was to kill someone with that power. Of course over time, he could alter his body to be resistant to those forces, but not until he has encountered them, meaning to become as powerful as you could, you'd have to have your ass kicked by some of the greatest superpowers in the world and survive. I mean, speedsters have developed to the point where they can travel through time....Maybe I'm just destructive though

I KNOW everything changes and evolves and if I were to get an elemental power you'd think I'd waste it on people? If I get mad, freeze their clothes, burn their wallet.
