I'm surprised this thread hasn't already been posted about Avatar. It's an awesome show, originally targetted ages 13-15, but I know 30 y/os who watch this show. It's for anyone of any age who can appreciate it really. It's silly and funny like most kid shows, but there is heavy symbolism and references to cultures & mythologies, mainly Asian. It's not really an anime in the Japanese sense...it's often called an American anime...I prefer the comparison of one part Japanese and three parts American/Disney animation.

The third season started a few weeks ago after a 9 month dry season of no Avatar. You can see all the crazy ways ppl tried to cope on Deviantart. There is plenty of information on wikipedia.org and even more specific information on the Avatar main site at nick.com...Avatarspirit.net is popular, but I prefer Avatarportal.com for online Avatar forums. I am an admin on Avatar Portal, and it's a great community of Avatards for anyone interested. You can watch free Avatar on Turbonick or Avatar Portal

*Spoilers*

As far as the show itself, I LOVE Toph. Best character ever, and Iroh as well...use to love Zuko a lot, but after betraying his uncle, he is in the dog house. Can't stand Katara, too stereotypical in a lot of ways, though she has had her awesome moments in the show...particularly the end of season 1 during the Siege of the North...but Toph is hella better. While I am not big on character shipping, Maiko is turning out to be really cute and I am torn between Sokka and Suki (whose fate is yet to be determined) or Sokka and Toph...either one would be good really.

The world needs less rabid Zuko fans. I'm just throwing that out there. Start liking Sokka. Way less stressful. A little more annoying as he is always the butt of jokes, but atleast you learn not to take it so serious.

I am full agreement with this statement. Zuko is just so overrated. :/
I used to hate Katara but I do agree she has some awesome moments, I mean watching her fight is great. Also, used to be a Zutara fan, during the first season and part of the second season. Now I dislike most ships in the avatarverse. (I loathe Sokka x anything) Except small ships/crack ships. JinxZuko is okay but Mai sorta finished that off and HaruxSong (it makes since in my mind) Actually almost anyonexSong is good for me because I love her and I want her back for a cameo. (Along with Jin/Haru/Teo/Meng, I really love side characters)

Why does Sokka have to be alone? He's had two viable relationships. In fact, he is the most likely to end up with someone.

As for Katara. I liked her dancing.

Well he actually doesn't have any reasons he'll end up alone and I think he probably will end up with someone, I just don't like Suki or Yue. I like Toph well enough, okay I love Toph I just don't want her with Sokka. It's probably some weird effect of being a Sokka fangirl that doesn't let me pair him with people. :/

Katara's dancing was pretty cool.

I love Sokka, but as far as favorite male character goes, Iroh pwns all.

I loved the Headband. "Hey, we're in enemy territory now...those are enemy birds."

Sokka is hilarious to me, and I would prefer he end up with Suki over Toph, but I don't dismiss the SokkaxToph ship just because if it makes Toph happy, I'm ok with it. I have a theory on shipping different elements in Avatar, and if Toph isn't gonna end up with someone from the Earth Kingdom, the next best choice would actually be the Fire Nation...so if she finds a sweetheart in season 3, I don't mind ^^ Earth and Fire are my fave elements.

XD Toph and Haru? He would be a slave to her, lol. I cannot imagine a Toph & Haru scenario that would not make Haru the b!tch of the relationship...I mean, Katara had more will power and strength than him, and look how the "Sugar Queen" measures up in Toph's eyes.

Toph will need someone with a touch of sensitivity because of her blindness, but also someone who can stand her attitude and sarcasm...Haru just doesn't come to mind.

And I am with you really, I am not into shipping in Avatar. I don't care who ends up with who, it is such a good show that I can accept whatever Mike and Bryan dish out.

He was XD I said it was interesting. But really he usually is, I'm part of the haru com and the most common pairing is Azula/Haru and Jet/Haru. I think so too, she can't have anyone that is to passive. I would be all for Hahn if he wasn't dead then she could put him in his place :p

Hahaha, that is the most intelligent thing you can do, stay away from the shipping XD I stray in sometimes, but once the Kataangist and Zutarians start up, I'm gone, lol.

Yes! The old men of Avatar are awesome. I didn't like Pakku until I read Booter freak's We'll Meet Again. Totally new perspective on Pakku and Kana's relationship and it kinda makes you sympathize even if he was a jerk in the beginning. I hope Jeong Jeong comes back with Hakoda's reinforcements on the Black Sun invasion, should make for an interesting battle.

Supposedly in this new season, they are going to elaborate on Roku's relationship with Sozin and we'll see more of what happened before the war started. Guess we'll find out why he should have seen the war coming as he mentioned in The Awakening.

Yea, I loved Aang so much at the beginning of the series, when he was more carefree and goofy...he's still goofy but not as carefree and that new Zuko complex of his is kinda creepy o.O I'm starting to think that his and Zuko's relationship is a lot more complex than it appears.

Slashers? I think you misunderstood what I was posting. I think there is a lot of potential between Aang and Zuko's character developments in the coming season that are relevant to how this is going to end, because the creators said they are gonna try to write a new Avatar series maybe, but the story between Aang and Zuko will be over. I think from the start these two's destinies were deeply intertwined more than we first realized. It was never simply the banished prince chasing the Avatar to restore his honor. Fate put Zuko in his position for a reason, and I think he might be key player in helping the Avatar restore balance. After all, balance require all four elements, not just air, water, and earth. He just needs to get his head out of his ass, and I think his supposed journey to find his mother this season will help him do that.

As an ex-Zutara shipper, I found it eerily amusing how Aang is becoming more and more like Zuzu-dearest. XD But ah well. I used to like Aang and his fairly believable characterization as a kid that has been forced to grow up too early but still has flashes of crackiness and funz. I don't want them to 'deepen' his personality by having him become a cheap Zuko clone.

Well, my favorites must be Iroh, Sokka, Zuko, and TOPH THE QUEEN X__X *bows* I personally find both Katara and Aang too boring for my taste, but that's just me. Eh. >___> I used to adore Katara, but she's way too much of a 'Aang~! ^__^ *sweet voice* I'm just so haaaaappy you're alright~!' character for me to like too much. Bwah.

Well, we're only two episodes into season 3 as of now, but I'm not too impressed so far, to be honest. Zuko is so OOC it hurts. Though the 'You're so beautiful when you're hating the world' line cracked me up totally - it took me three days to finally be able to walk correctly again after I watched 'The Headband'. Seriously, WTF? Who the hell writes 'romance' in ATLA? Man, whoever it is, that line was freaking awesome. I've never heard of writers trying so desperately to make fun of a relationship as they're doing now with Maiko. :lmao

Either way, I like the plot, but I'm not too psyched about the series. It really suffers from the 'made-for-children' syndrome. While it's deeper than any Y7 series I watched to the day and has really awesome aspects, it could use some more character depth for its main cast than it really gives. I'm not talking about touching backstories or heartbreaking speeches - I'm talking about their normal conversations and interaction. They all seem just so... shallow. Of course, there are exceptions, but still. :cry

Toph rocks, that's all there is to it, lol. In our world, she would be the kid sitting on the top of the Junglegym, kicking everyone else off her throne, lol. I LOVED her metalbending in The Awakening, pure awesomeness.

Katara is a bit too...bleh for me, lol, but I still love Aang, even if he is not as carefree and goofy as he use to be...the Headband episode with the dance was really cute with him showing off his mad skills, lol. I agree that I don't want him becoming a clone of Zuko, but I do think that this "I need to restore my honor" thing with Aang is going to help him understand Zuko abit more.

I don't think the characters are that shallow...they are certainly deeper than even some of the "teen" shows I have seen, but yea, there could be more depth to them...with the exception of Toph, lol. I hate that she doesn't talk much in the episodes (It's all about Aang & Katara or Sokka), that she is practically a minor character. I hope they show more of her and take her character to the next level in this up coming season.

Wow, LOVED Sokka's Master. That was just too awesome and thankfully, this episode had a lot more Toph in it than the past few ^^ I was starting to think they were gonna turn her into a minor character with the lack of attention she was getting compared to Katara *gags*. This was a great Sokka episode, and I think it was great for his character's image, since he does not get the right kind of attention too oftne. I can't wait to see the Beach. Azula looks pretty killer playing volleyball XD

I am glad Toph finally got a little bit more action in Sokka's Master compared to the previous episode. She needs more screen time, she is too funny and sarcastic to be ignore.

I hate that they made her bend that shape of the Nickelodeon splat though. If they are gonna usurp a character for shameless advertising, they can use that flake, Katara, after all a splat is more water-ish than earth. Screw you Nickelodeon!

I am still not over that punch from the Paint Lady. Sokka and Katara were having their cliche moment and I was like, someone shoot me, then Toph punched Aang and made it all better XD She is so awesome, it's a shame Toph doesn't play bigger roles in the episodes.

i feel sory for soka cos he feelslike the weak one and the odd one out...although he's forgtting he is a genious inventor, tactition etc! espeically considering the time period they live in, genious's would be rare in a more primitive time like that.

btw does aang actually know how to fire bend now or what? he said he never wants to do it again, but canhe do it? he can go into the avatar state at will now (i think) so he should be able to anyway.

I was thinking the same thing. I don't get how Sokka could feel left out over this one incident because they can bend. He helped out at the Northern Air Temple, the penta-pox at Omashu, etc. He is always coming up with clever solutions and such...hell he's the one who found out about the solar eclipse and came up with an invasion plan. Sokka should not feel inadequate because he cannot bend.

Actually, Aang might be able to enter the Avatar State, but he cannot use the help of his past lives anymore. They did this thing on Nick after season 2 ended where Aang journeys through the spirit world and Yang Chen, the last Air Nomad Avatar told him that his Avatar Spirit was hurt, so he could not use his past lives (which made up for most of the power of the Avatar State from combined experience). You can probably find the clip where Yang Chen explains it on youtube or putfile.

Agreed, and I love the heavy mythology, historical, cultural, and religious references, like the Order of the White Lotus in real life was a society that over threw and emperor, so what can we expect from them in the Avatar's world? o.O I think the chakras were well done too, very closely linked to the actual chakra concepts used by Hindus. Even the Avatar himself is based loosely of the avatars of Hindu mythology, which were gods who manifested themselves on earth to restore balance after chaos. Then there are the 5 nations, the Earth Kingdom representing China, Fire Nation representing Japan, the Air Nomads representing Buddhists (many would argue Tibet), and the Water Tribe representing Inuit societies...etc. I love it all ^^

Yea, I saw the preview on Avatarportal. Sucks cuz I thought Maiko was really cute, but I don't blame Mai for her decision. Zuko was over-reacting to such insignificant things. I wonder if he will finally take that rumored journey to find his mother now that he is no longer bond to Mai.

how the fire nation assasinated avatar roku!!! dum dum duuum...

we all kno avatar roku was a fire bender, livin in the fire nation 100 years ago.

we now kno that the past 100 years of fire nation history has been altered for the public...to make themselves not seem evil probably.

perhaps 100 years ago the conspiracy for the fire nation to take over the world began then, with the avatar in their hands.

the fire lord of the time must've been evil and loved power..then the avatar showed up in his nation. he had a new secret weapon to conquer the world.

he probably planned this war for a while then asked roku to co-operate...hroku obviously refused so the fire lord 'took care of him' hitman mobster style...getting roku killed.

with hat roku couldn't stop the fire nation so the fire lord bagan to start his prep for the invasion ofthe world...then along the way he probably realized the new avatar would show....in the ai temples onbviously (the avatar cycle duh - air, water, earth, fire and then back to air). so his first official targets were the air temples...the air nomads...specificaly aang/the new avatar.

unknowingly to the fire lord though, aaang left the air temple and was frozen underwater anyway...so while the firenation now thought nobody could stop them, not even the avatar, they began to invade and take over the rest of the world...muhahhaha fire!

this war went on for 100 years (the fire lord(s) chaging to zuos dad eventually) cos the avatar mysteriously dissapeared for 100 years...cos the fire nation killed him, and killed the next avatar too...or did they...

then aang returms and the storyline negins.

hahahah...the uk have 2 new eps of avatar everyday so im on episode 8...

oh and episode 6 explains sum inportant stuff so my theory is actually correct...suprisingly...

fire lord sozen = zuko's great grandfather on dads side

Hahaha, yea, 309 was probably the funniest and the craziest episode of them all, though I have to say that The Avatar and the Firelord was an amazing episode. I love it when the Guru showed up with all his arms and a banjo XD

And they finally did a Toph episode with the Runaway! Even if Toph did kinda have to share the spotlight with the floozie, I'm just glad she got some attention. She was really negelected until then.

Anyone seen the Puppetmaster yet? Creepy stuff.

im watching avatar on tv right now, yes in the uk! so i'll be back to edit this post and chat about it ina few mins...

ok no new eps...:cry...

it seems the uk only show up to ep 9 of the season 3...then stopped...unless it will start again on monday, i'll check and tell you guys...

anyway, usa should beshowing ep 10 in about a month so we'lll all see it eventually...but usa will stop at e 10 for a while...

i guess the uk will overtake usa later on again though so no worries, every1 will see the eps, whether on tv or dwnld.

The whole fellow female bending master-bloodbending battle struck me as something that came from fanfic. There has been a lot of debate on fan forums in the past about the possibility of bloodbending. Especially after the Swamp episode last year, where Hu was bending the water inside the plants. Plus, I don't see how bloodbending would turn you into a puppet... at least without causing you to have a massive aneurism or heart attack and die!

3.09 90% filler (except for the Zuko parts) but HILARIOUS! I expected Spongebob to make an appearance...

Yea, 309 thorough creeped me out, but it was hilarious at the same time. I agree that 308 and 309 don't seem like something the creators would have written. I think they were just fillers that came from ideas fans have given.

307 was great. Aside fom Katara's attention whoring of the screen, I am just happy to see Toph getting some of the attention. She is so underrated in the Gaang and I hate how they keep making Katara out to be more and more the main character, even more so than Aang. The Painted Lady, The Puppetmaster, how Toph and Sokka talked about how much they have come to depend on her, and Aang constantly pining over her. It's so annoying.

Ohmygod. I was so behind in all things Avatar, because nothing really seemed worth watching about s3 this far, but... I just watched The Puppetmaster, and I can only say; Oh My F****** God, It Happened. D:

Bloodbending - it ought to be the ultimate coolest thing ATLA has presented us so far. Everyone saw it coming, and I mean everyone, even the eleven year olds that hide their Avatarism from their friends. Even if I'm not the biggest Katara fan, I have to admit this was done nicely - the Mary Sue of Avatar gets the deadliest skill of them all; it's great. I loved how broken she looked to realize what she'd done, and I look forward to her tasting the [Dark Side Of Power] soon enough. <3

Is it just me or does Aang seem like more and more of a side character as things progress? I like the little guy, but now that I think of it he doesn't make for much of a character. Like... you'd notice if Sokka disappeared, and you'd definitely notice if there wasn't a Katara in the episode, but there are moments when they could very well make Katara the Avatar and no one would've noticed. >__> Ah well, it might just as well happen, better not push my luck.

Overall my hope for ATLA is back. I looooved the latest episode - and even though Haru with a moustache is disturbing, it's still not enough to throw me off. xD

I kinda agree a bit, because usually, I never really notice he's there, because I'm focused on the funny side-story, which usually is Sokka and Katara and Toph, or Zuko's part in the episode. Poor Aang, the show's supposed to be about him. :o

It's hard to tell. His father didn't go through the motions like Iroh did, plus, if he was redirecting it, he paused inbetween recieving the lightning and shooting it out...he may have found the balance he needed to overcome his issues and learn how. But hey, it would be hard to master in a short period of time, so I can buy into him redirecting it too.

Not necessarily. Iroh said the reason Zuko was having problems creating lightning was because of his inner conflicts. I am pretty sure after watching DoBS: The Eclipse, Zuko might be able to do it. Iroh showed him how, all he needed to do was bring balance to himself and he would be able to do it.

So, I don't think it's impossible for him to have done it, it's just not as likely as him redirecting it. Plus, if he becomes Aang's firebending teacher, it is important that Zuko be able to help Aang master lightning since Ozai can use it.

Your idea holds logic. As all of Aang's teachers have been masters of their respective elements to the point of being able to go further than just said element. Still, I sincerely think it'd not be good for his character. After all, I never see him initiating an attack as of now and he already can own any 'fire' bender. Ironic that lightning bending will most likely be his perfect defense.

MMmhm. I can somehow see Zuko and Katara teaming up against Azula in the end. In my mind it makes all the sense in the world, but ah well. Previously I would've said it would be Zuko teaming up with Aang against Ozai, but since DotBS it's been made obvious Zuzu will have other things to do then. x__x

Sokka will obviously be in for leading the Opposition Troupes (w00t!!) since the creators couldn't think for a good opponent for him. I mean, can you see him fighting Mai and Ty Lee or whatever they thought of last time? Nah, shucks. That guy just can't get his lucky break, he's so out of the Avatar world it's not even funny. :cry One thing for sure, he's going to rescue Suki along the way, so it makes me think Toph will be somewhere around too.

No idea for Iroh, Mai or Ty Lee, though. @_@ aH, what am I saying, Ty Lee has obviously merged with Azula, she doesn't exist as an individual entity anymore. xD

I dunno. I think Zuko still has feelings for Mai, and even if he doesn't want a relationship with her anymore, I bet he still care about her. I don't think it's gonna be as simple as defeat Mai and Ty Lee. There is probably gonna be some drama between Zuko and Mai. As for Ty Lee...she likes her pink aura, so I think she would like to avoid conflict, but at the same time, she helped bring down the Earth Kingdom, so it's hard to tell with her.

I never watch TV unless I have a show recorded (which might explain why I've missed practically all of the new episodes), so I never saw any trailers. xD
I just heard it on a commercial once and then a week later my mom busts into my room like, "AH MAH GAWD AANG HAS HURR" (my mom's WAAAY into Avatar, probably more than me lol). So yeah, that's the story of how I got back into it again.

But it's so sad how long it's been since I've watched it. I've actually forgotten who Roku is!

Actually the less of Aang the better in my opinion. Though I don't want Katara to die, I agree that she is annoying.
With the whole Suki telling Azula thing, Azula found out from the Earth King when she was disguised as the Kyoshi warriors. It don't think it was Suki who told. Sokka already had to suffer princess whatever dieing, I hope Suki doesn't die!

I know it would suck for Sokka with Yue already being dead, but I don't really see any realistic reason for Suki to still be alive. Of course she's going to be alive because this is a kid's show and it'd be cruel otherwise. But there won't be an explanation. Azula's probably sadistic and might have fun torturing her, but most everything she does is for a purpose and there would be no benefit to keeping Suki alive. None that I can see unless to hold her hostage against Sokka or something...

I also want to add a prediction: Katara will only stop hating Zuko when he's reunited with his mother. Or when she sees how desperately he wants to find her or something... The mother talk was what got to her the first time right? I don't know why, I just kinda feel like putting that out there...

I loved the sequence when they were doing the dance alongside the dragons. It was pretty cool. (Though right at the end of it my brother had to yell out "Fusion-ha!")

And yes, the episode was shown in Canada on Friday evening. Though, to be fair, Canada had to wait longer than the US to see season 2, so I guess now YTV's making up for it.

And http://www.watch-avatar.com/ has all the season 3 episodes too now. Though I noticed that both sites seemed to cut Sokka's line off when he talks about "jerk-bending"... All they cut off was him saying "Still got it!" in reference to his jerk-bending joke.

I kind of like the fact that Zuko isn't as awkward as he was in episode 12. I was thinking they might make him feel left out or uncomfortable around the others due to all the past tension and that stuff, but I'm glad that he almost seems to fit in already.

Thats one thing that really did stand out in chapter 13, and even though he is still getting a lot of misery from some of the gang, he is starting to act more like he is part of their team. I loved the interactions between Aang and him...cant wait to see the next ep

I thought episode 13 was really great. I love the interactions between Zuko and Aang too and I was glad to see that Zuko is getting along with the team (although Katara still has something against him... sigh). I didn't expect all the dragons and Sun Warriors plot so it was surprising.
Hmmm. I like Aang's and Zuko's Fusion Dragon Dance. :D I hope we would see more of that~ like them using it to fight some firebenders, hehe.
Though since they mentioned Iroh, I really want him to find them now! He would be so much proud of Zuko, I know it. Where is my manly Iroh? :cry

No clue. The Western Air Temple and Firebending Masters haven't even aired on tv yet. I believe there is a date for when the 3rd Season 3 Avatar DVD will be released, and we can safely assume more episodes will air at least 5 weeks before that date if the don't want the episode to be viewed on the DVD before tv.

Yea, after the ridiculously long wait for the third season, I am not surprised to find Nick holding out on us for the second half of the season. I do not believe that Avatar writers went on strike, but I do believe that there have been a lot of things that have interfered with the initial release of new Avatar episodes...but then after like what? 7 or 8 months of waiting for season 3, I think they were just teasing us until the San Diego Comic Con rolled around. As for the current delay? Part of me wonders if it isn't punishment. The Day of Black Sun episodes were hacked into and released to the internet before they were due to air, and even though the fans do not deserve to be punished for this, I would not put it past Nick to do this.

Heheh....I was suspected for that because Nick execs found a picture of me with Mike and Bryan (I'd met them the year before) on the same website that hosted the spoiler pics. So they had one of their employees who knows me call me up and ask about it. I later found out that Mike and Bryan were next to him telling him what to say to me. No, they were on the Internet because they aired in other countries. Episodes 312 and 313 have already aired in Canada. I don't know why, though, it's made in the US so it should air in the US first. It's Teen Titans all over again...

Not quite. That maybe the case now, but when the episodes first came out on the internet, a lot of sites refused to show it because they were hacked episodes and did not want to be charged with any crime. I'm sure you can look it up somewhere on the internet. I remember the site I am on, Avatar Portal, had a dilemma with preventing people from spreading links to the illegally hacked episodes.

I dunno, I thought it was pretty stupid of them to wait until the San Diego Comic Con to announce when season 3 would finally air. Pissed off a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooot of fans, myself included, and I know a hand full of people that lost interest in the show altogether. If they would have been kind enough to let us know that Avatar would be announced at the San Diego Comic Con during the late winter, early spring (specifically April when everyone was expecting it to come back on), then things might have gone smoother for the fans because at least then they would have some inkling of how long the wait was. With holding all information until almost the last moment cost the show many fans, particularly amongst the older viewers.

I'm to the point where I hold nothing against the creators of Avatar, they don't have a say in how Nick conducts their business, but I would not put anything past Nick. They have been rather abusive to their Avatar fans and give few reasons, the staff of Avatar are always stuck apologizing or giving excuses for Nick when people ask them about how the show has been handled. Even though it might not have been as popular, I think Avatar would have been better off on a different TV network, like Cartoon Network.

I was so excited about the latest episode when it was said to come after one week. And that week turned into two weeks, three weeks, month...ugh, my excitement has pretty much vanished, but it will resurface once more when the episodes start airing again.

Well, guys, I'll be going to the panel at NYCC next Saturday, so I'll give you an update as soon as I get back. Yeah, I read Giancarlo's journal, it's a real damn shame when the ridiculousness of the situation is bad enough to piss off even the staff members. *crosses fingers for April 18th*

But my sisters and I have been wondering if Nick is doing all this to piss off the fans on purpose.....I don't see any reason to, though.

Navirae- There was a 3 month hiatus between the first and second part of season 1, about another 3 month hiatus between season 1 and 2, a 2 month hiatus between the first and second part of season 2 (with new episodes being shown every other week for part 2), and a whopping 9 month hiatus between season 2 and season 3. And now this. :yell

If Nick is doing this to piss the fans off on purpose, they are doing a very good job. I don't even understand how they can assume that we will have the patience to put up with this again and again, or ever even. I just hope there is a very good explanation for it.

About the long gaps in between seasons...thats just...I'm sure they are very well aware of the show's popularity. I just hope they aren't using this to their advantage. Because as much as I love the show, it gets frustrating when we aren't given more updates about whats going on and why there is no news about when the next part will be released.

Did they ever explain about their reasons for the prior gaps in the previous seasons?

Ah, sorry about that. I only watch the episodes online now, so I didn't realize it had aired. Then the finale that was referred to must mean the final episode(s), not DOBS as I suspected. It seems like if the episodes are to air before the DVDs are realized, May is the suspected month the finale will air in.

Anyways, yes, sneak peeks for the rest of season 3 and the preview for the series finale will be shown. And if anyone so much as tries to ask those questions, I will personally beat their ass for you. :p Mike and Bryan have said it so many times, they are done with this storyline, but they are not done with the world of Avatar. I don't know about a 4th season, but yes, people need to stop asking and making useless petitions!!! :yell There's only so far you can take a show before it goes into overkill. And yes, Jet is dead. Next time we see him will be in the Spirit World.

There will be no season 4. Once the Fire Lord is defeated, Mike and Bryan said this will be the end of the story between Aang and Zuko. That is not to say that they will not consider writing a spin off series, but there has been no official news on that possibility.

Some representatives from Avatar Portal are going and they are holding contests for members, and the prize is giving them a question to take to the Comic Con. I would enter the contest, but I am an admin, so I can only judge -_-

Aw, Kam, you beat me to posting the trailer!!! :yell Yeah, it's in SPANISH, meaning the original was finished quite some time ago, then shipped overseas and dubbed in a different language. So the altered episode will be aired in a different country before the original will be aired in the country it was produced in. WHAT THE HELL, NICKELODEON?!?!? This is getting absolutely ridiculous!!!!!

For those who haven't seen beyond DOBS, spoilers below.

I feel like Haru, Teo, & the Duke have been kind of ignored. They made a brief appearance in the Western Air Temple and are almost non-existent in the Firebending Masters. Poor minor characters.

As far as the Suki thing, that could be her. The hairstyle roughly matches what she wore as a Kyoshi warrior. It will be nice to finally see her and Sokka united. Though, it looks like Ty Lee will give her a run for her money XD

Looks like Hakoda was present so I wonder how soon the rescue mission will be. There will probably be like a week or two period skipped where Aang miraculously learned a bunch of firebending from Zuko, and we pick up where they are planning how to re-invade to fight the Fire Lord because we are running out of episodes.

Actually, if you think about it, it makes some sense. If people are desperate to see the finale before it airs and it is made available on dvd first, then chances are sales will skyrocket compared to all other previous Avatar dvds during their first releases. They're trying to bring up some shippers hopes, a kiss, hug, scenes with 2 enemies, that makes the shippers go wild, so they completely forget about Toph. I don't think they understand how many Toph fans there are. + Iroh fans.

July 14th, everyone, that's when it's supposedly coming back!!! :nuts I think that the entire last part of season 3 might be aired all that week, with 312 on Mon, 313 on Tues, 314 and 315 (Boiling Rock) on Wed, 316 on Thurs, 317 on Fri, and the four-part finale (318-321) on Sat.

(I said "supposedly" because July 14th was posted on Nick's Avatar supersite for a couple days, but now that information has been removed. *sigh...*)

I think this week has been the best week for Avatards in a loooong time. I mean, we haven't had a new episode in forever, then we get a trailer and two new episodes? Nothing can bring my great mood down, not even stupid school projects or anime fillers!!!!

I agree, the SDCC only had the season 3 trailer, but this trailer and these new episodes were epic! The Boiling Rock episodes were insane and I love Mai even more now <3...I suppose Zuko gets some brownie points too, lol.

Aang is not happy about having to kill the Fire Lord even though everyone is stressing how much Ozai needs to die. Upset about having to take a life, Aang seeks out the other Avatars for their advice.

Zuko reveals that in the meeting that forced his decision to betray the Fire Nation, Ozai announced his plans for his military to go on a Sozin Comet induced rampage and basically burn what’s left of the other nations to the ground.

Aang defeats Ozai, but lets him live…he is removed from power. With his uncle’s encouragement, Zuko takes the throne and is instrumental in healing the world. Iroh retires and opens a tea shop.

The White Lotus Society makes an appearance, Master Pakku is revealed as a member. They liberate Ba Sing Se and the Earth Kingdom.

Azula does go crazy and starts banishing people. She has major issues with Ursa and is hurt that she never cared for her the way she loved Zuko. She has an Agni Kai with Zuko, the result of which my source didn’t elaborate, but seeing as Zuko becomes Fire Lord I don’t think it goes well for her. But then, the source also states that Katara takes her down, so who knows?

Sokka, Suki and Toph have a separate mission involving an airship in which Sokka loses both his sword and his boomerang. NOOOO!!!!!

Ty Lee joins the Kyoshi Warriors.

Little is made of the romance…but as one is totally obvious and I said that I’m saddened by the spoilers I think you can figure out how they work out…

EDIT -- We have confirmation that Kataang and Maiko are CANON and ENDGAME.

I like all the characters, but Katara and Aang give me shivers because he is so young. Why do they all have to pair, I think the story is pretty good without the pairings.

I shdder when they kiss, and Zuko and Katara...well the guys has too many issues upstairs to have a girlfriend just yet. Just my opinion but I think Mai would give him equality in the problemn deparment.

I like the story though and I think so far Azula has been pretty cool.

EDIT -- We have confirmation that Kataang and Maiko are CANON and ENDGAME.

EDIT -- We have learned that Aang gets the Avatar State back but he DOES NOT use it to defeat Ozai.

thanks for the spoilers kam, the pairing in the end was not what i would have wanted but i guess it was pretty obvious with the way this season was played out from the beginning. still, the story seems fabulous and still can't wait for the next eps to come out :urahara

:) Thanks. I usually have no problem when I do the "Go Advanced" button, highlight the desired spoiler text and hit the Sp button. You do always have to put some kind of label on the spoiler, which I usually try to do in a humorous way since it's kind of useless and annoying. But, that's the weird way the forum works.

Whoops, I'm :offtopic so... I accept Maiko but I'm not fond of it. I've always had a problem with the way she didn't seem to care about her little brother at all, and doesn't seem to care about anything BUT Zuko. I think Mike and Bryan find it humorous to pair Zuko with someone who acts as grumpy as he does, but I don't. I think the pairing overemphasizes the emo-teen aspect of Zuko and underemphasizes the strength of his character and how far he's come. Sorry, just my opinion.

Kataang... Meh. Whatever. :-_-

Shipping aside (I'm a Zutarian), I'm mostly disappointed with the fact that Ozai, or even Azula, didn't die. C'mon, I mean why should Zhao and Jet die, but not the big villains?

Hence why avatar shouldn't be on nick. Really, they had to push Jet's death, and then nick finally allows it, and then they can't kill off a big villain? I just hope it's actually better/different then the way the books made it. (Wasn't Mai a bender in one of them? Probably a mistake but still).

Spongebob and Fairly Odd Parents freaking has people die all the time! Hypocrites. (Even though the other deaths are for "comedy").

I love the clip of 317. Something that's always great about Avatar is it's humour and Ember Island Players is hilarious because the show is actually making fun of itself.

Something else I think is awesome about Avatar is that there's a lot of old characters which isn't something you see very often in a kid-oriented show. I mean Bumi is hilarious, and there's Iroh, and Roku, and there was also Hama who was an interesting character (showing that even people from the "good" side have the potential to be "evil").

I guess I think it's cool that the show focuses on young people and old people. There's little interaction with middle-age adult sort of parental characters. You get the sense of all these old people passing the torch to this young generation because it's the old characters teaching their wisdom and techniques to the kids.

It's just something I really appreciate about the show.

But anyways, last night's finale was awesome! I'm a little mad though because I need closure on Ursula and Azula! Especially Azula. I loved Azula! Please don't be evil anymore, please! We need you and your awesome Firebending skills!!!

I thought Aang should have just killed Ozai, though. If I could, I would punch him in the face. I was hoping that his past lives would have gotten through to him, but no. Instead, he took his bending away. Big woop. I also wasn't digging the end with Aang and Katara kissing, probly mainly because I think they're just to naive to know what love is. Though they've matured beyond their years, they still have lots of growing up to do. >_> My opinion.

But Azula... I hope she doesn't go insane. :( She's a great character and doesn't deserve to be!!

The season finale was epic, the actual ending (like the epilogue part)...eh, I was happy with the Aang hugging Katara, really not liking the kiss. If you think about the physical difference between a 12 y/o boy and a 14 y/o girl, it's pushing it for me. If Katara were like 18 and Aang 16, it would not be so bad, but because they are still adolescent to me, I find their relationship slightly disturbing (at least while they are that young). Aside from that, I'm really glad the way the series ended. To be honest, I like Azula, but the whole psycho persona they gave her in the end cracked me up. Her evil laugh was soooo contagious, lol. The hallucination of her mom in the mirror thing kinda caught me off guard, definitely freaky, but not totally unexpected. We knew she had mommy issues after 'The Beach' episode in a sense like Zuko had daddy issues.

I hope there is like a bonus dvd of episodes that comes out or something, there are a few unanswered questions that I think deserve some attention. The fans need closure after three long years! The Zuko/Ursa thing really wasn't touched on that much, that was just too brief with Zuko questioning his father and it leads no where really; Is there seriously nothing to be done about the Air Nomads? Does the Guru have anything to say on the matter?; What happened to the Earth King and Bosco?; Does Toph make up with her parents?; How does the Gaang feel about the cabbage merchant giving the Fire Nation all that info on them to make that damn play? lol; Where did those damn Dai Li sneak of to? Someone needs to keep them on a short leash; etc. etc. etc. I demand answers, lol. I don't mind if they left the series open for some extra episodes or something akin to the shorts, but I really hope they don't leave us hanging.

I can't believe the season ended; Its honestly kind of hard to take in, for some reason. The fire lord is defeated, Zuko reverted back somewhat to his old hairstyle (boo), and the fire nation is recovering, I guess.

One thing I have to comment on, is the fight between Zuko and Azula. I loved it. The way that the music heavily dominated all words and sound effects... You could really feel that it was an important battle, and the stakes were high. It was amazing.
