Lexi came skidding to a halt as she detected the soul. No hollows, as far as she could see, though she'd been too complacent with that lately. Three near-death situations in one week was hardly a good thing. This time, she'd have to be on her guard.

That familiar, vivid green ponytail seemed familiar-
It indeed looked familiar, since she had seen that girl with that damned stalker (looking at you, Mystic Serenade xP)
This girl seemed to make a decent opponent, nor too weak and not too strong. A perfect enemy for her.
The soul which was near her just screamed for being devoured

Lexi grumbled to herself as she turned around to face the incoming reiatsu. Her eyes widened in shock - it was Keiji's friend. It wouldn't bode well if she killed the hollow and didn't get any answers out of it. Still, if she tried her hand at conversation, the hollow could easily surprise her and gain an advantage.

Suppose it's a question of interest. Hollow seems a bit stronger than me though, so best not to let it get an advantage. Still, a bit of pre-fight banter doesn't seem out of the question.

"Hmm, it's you again. Exactly what do you want, hollow-san? If it's the soul, then I'm afraid it isn't a very good day for you. I don't think you heard me the last time in introduced myself, so I'll do it again: I'm Lexi Hunter, jyuunibantai-goseki! You'd better make this a decent fight; no running away this time!"

With that said, Lexi drew her zanpakuto out of her hakama pocket and held it loosely in one hand, also going into a fighting stance. Before the hollow could retaliate, she disappeared, using her shyunpo to get behind the hollow and letting down a slice at the back of its mask (20 Attack, 20 Speed). She followed this up with a roundhouse kick to the head (10 Reiatsu into strength, 10 Speed) before dropping down onto the tall grass.

Even then she didn't stop, jumping up into the refuge of a tree and pointing both index fingers at the hollow. Forcing reiatsu down her arms and into her hands, she collected on the tips of her fingernails and it took physical form - a small, pulsating orb that crackled with electrical energy.

"I learned this from your stalker. Hadou #4, Byakurai!"

The blast that followed was enormous; the sound shook the trees and tore the branches off the one Lexi was perched upon. The golden bullet seared through the sky, tearing the very air apart, as it made its path on a collision course with the center of the hollow's mask.

I'm Lexi Hunter, jyuunibantai-goseki!

For the very first time, her enemy had a name. "The name is Azul... Azul Lamixen... "
but there were little to no time for conversation... out of nowhere, that girl had appeared just behind her at a speed which was even difficult to see.
Instinctively, she hid behind her Feathers and impaled that girl (Uses Feather shield twice, 50 defense to block both attacks, 100 damage to attacker, 100 cost*)

Seconds after her inicial assault, Lexi used that blasted energy ball she knew so well at this point...
With a bit of anger, Azul slapped the blue ball and with a single strike made it dissapear in a colorful and shocking explotion (blocked,- 50 defense)

The smoke left from the explotion gave her a tactical advantage... she landed swiftly and attacked with her tail in a single powerful strike (25 strength; 25 speed)

*(In case it was not understood, I used two separate feather shield, one for each attack, which add up for 100 (50+50) damage in whole for a cost of 100 (50+50) points.)

The attacks sent Lexi reeling. The feather shield hit her like a brick wall, and the feathers jabbed into her body and left her a bloody mess. Despite defending (42 Defense + 8 Reiryoku) against the brunt of the attack, the attack was a devastating one that she couldn't afford to take again. She staggered backwards into the tree trunk and sunk her sword into the ground.

Fuck, that was soooooo cheap ... guess I can't be using melee attacks anymore ...

The cuts weren't particularly deep, but they were plentiful, and blood spewed out like water from a hole in a dam. Lexi wiped the red stuff off her forehead and regained her grip upon the sword. She squinted into the smoke left behind by her attack, and saw nothing.

That can't have killed it ... where th' hell could it be?

Her question was answered by a tail swinging from out of nowhere. She quickly rolled to the side and back into the thick of the smoke ... she had the advantage now, but she was losing blood quite rapidly.

Crap, I'll have to finish it off quickly.

Lexi took a step backwards ... the onslaught she was about to release would take utmost concentration. Strings of reiatsu in the air aligned themselves to fit into her hands, and her own came bursting forwards to match it. She had to whisper this, lest it give her position away.

"Ye Lord! Mask of blood and flesh, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Inferno and pandemonium, The sea barrier surges, March on to the south!"

Her fingers lit themselves on fire, a blaze that did not yet penetrate the smoke, but an intimidating one nonetheless. It danced upon her hands, bursting with anticipation, raring to be let out and consume the enemy, but it wasn't time yet. A few more focuses of reiatsu, and the flame began cracking and burning golden - a violent cacophony of energy swirling dangerously around her fingertips. Lexi herself began to seem as if she was emitting a golden glow; the aura was intoxicating, and the ground was disintegrating around her.

"Shakkaho! Byakurai! Torrent of Fire Lightning!"

And then the whole world exploded as Lexi released it (200 Damage + 16, 100 Speed + 25 + 37 (that's 162)).

The mixture of blazing fire and electrifying thunder blasted across the clearing and pierced all of the smoke that remained. It sailed towards the hollow with a piercing roar that burned away the very atoms in the sky.

Although exhausted, Lexi had to chuckle to herself.

(actually, you've got a point. I'll consider revising it after this battle to where the cost is equal to the defense + offense. However, you should also keep in mind that someone using only that technique to defend and attack will burn out their reiryaku real fast. It nearly took him down in half just for using it twice. Twice more, and he'll be a sitting duck =/ It's cheap, but can't be used more than a few times.)

Although Azul could not see her now, that shinigami was definitely alive. But something was wrong about this situation...

And then, she heard it... a screaming voice which chanted some kind of spell

"Great, now she thinks she's Harry Po...

Her thoughts were interrupted when she actually saw her. Firmly standing despite bleeding heavily, this shinigami was gathering an enormous amount of energy in her hands much like the usual blast they shinigamis called out. However, this energy was nothing like she had seen before, it flowed in halcyon streams all around her hands and slowly grew bigger and bigger ...

In mere seconds, the little marble of fire had grown into an enormous ball of thunder and fire. And only few moments later, was already heading in her direction at a dangerously fast pace. To even remain near it was extremelly dangerous- "hell, even breathing is imposible next to that thing"

As such, Azul did the only rational thing to do at this moment. She flew high, but that blasted thing was already chasing her!! She concentrated and put all her energy in escaping that phenomena (150 reiatsu + 13 speed). At the end, she was barely able to do so.

What could have possibly been her end, had exploded in the middle of the sky and she was finally out of danger. Moreso, by watching at that simply amazing attack, she could tell that Dizzy's attack had drained her completely.

Since Azul herself was not at top condition, this would have to end now. She rushed down straight to this little girl with the intention of knocking her out (Speed 20, strength 45)

Damn it, I thought I told you to block it!

Lexi watched the hollow skirt back and forth across the sky in a desperate attempt to evade the massive wave of fire and lightning, and no matter how much silent praying she did, manage to dodge it by the tip of her tail. The attack flew harmlessly past it and exploded in the distance.

Fuck! It's worn out, but I need the goddamned thing to die!

Lexi was nearly out of it as well, needing the use of her zanpakuto to stand up straight. Though she was exhausted, her wounds had clotted by now and the blood now formed a coagulated fluid that coated parts of her body. Her exhausted limbs were shaking, and she was still woozy from blood loss.

Don't think I'm gonna be in this for much longer ... where's that rat bastard Keiji when you need him?

She shook her head to alleviate the growing migraine and all of a sudden, she noticed that the hollow was growing larger and larger, and then the oxygen hit her brain and she moved out of the way (18 Speed + 2 Reiryoku) just as the hollow rammed into the place she had just been standing.

"Too slow!"

She tried a feeble swipe at it (18 Strength, 4 Reiatsu into Speed), but it was entirely insignificant, and as the hollow recovered, Lexi knew that there was no way she would win. She had guessed as much since the feathers had stabbed her all over the place and she stood there bleeding while the hollow was dodging everything she threw at it, but she hadn't really accepted it as fact until now.

I suppose four near-death situations in a week is the limit, eh? Maybe I'll get lucky and Keiji'll show up before I die.

Despairingly, she moved back into her fighting stance, sword gripped loosely in her right hand. The hollow ... Azul, was its name? ... was recovering much quicker than she; it would soon be able to finish it with a crushing blow. Probing into her mind, Lexi found only one thing that she could find solace in - her previous failure.

Running is for losers, she thought wryly. I'm going to finish it this time, for better or fucking worse!

"You know, I don't really like how mud tastes" Azul said this as she got up. The sword had simply bounced of her wing (18 defense).
It was foolish of her not to embush at all her speed, but it did not really matter. From close, she could really tell this girl was at her limit.

She swung her head at the opponent as she stood up (15 strength, 15 speed)

"Answer me little girl, why do you keep on fighting?"

Lexi watched as Azul pulled herself out of the mud, and as it swung her head at her, she raised her sword to block it (15 Defense).

Who in the world attacks with their head? What a total dumba -

Her thoughts were interrupted by a chilling voice: "Answer me, little girl. Why do you keep on fighting?"

She was taken back. Last time she had checked, Azul had been a screaming loony who Keiji had decided to chat up for some reason. Lexi never claimed to be an expert on hollow thought patterns, but she didn't think this was too normal.

"... what? Should I not be fighting? I have my honor, don't I? I'd rather die than fail and run at every battle I've ever fought ... or have Keiji protecting me all the time. I need to learn to fend for myself, I suppose. That's all there is to it."

Although that was far from all there was to it, Lexi was surprised at how easily the words came out, considering she was engaging a hollow who had nearly killed her and would likely soon finish the job. Still, it was probably a bit smarter to stall for time than die.

She managed to find the strength to deal a blow to the hollow (18 Strength, 5 Speed), and though it was once again ineffective, she found consolation in the fact that at the very least, she was still alive enough to run.

That's right ... least I have the choice. But so did Felix, didn't he? And he chose to
run ...

Lexi shook her head violently. I'm nothing like you, taichou.

She stared back up at the hollow. "Exactly why do you ask, Azul?"

A bit more stalling before death couldn't hurt, could it?

"Why do I ask? It's as simple to answer that as it is to block your attacks. You fight for honor, yet stand here humilliating yourself as you try to buy time.
As for me, I won't leave here without that shaking human over there!" As she said this, her voice started to rice.
"It's monstrous, but devouring that human is the only thing that makes me able to think... every second I stay here, I get consumed by this inner monster you call a "Hollow"
YOU WANT A GOOD REASON TO FIGHT? THEN FIGHT FOR YOUR SANITY!!"

As she started screaming, she pounded with her three tails at the same moment- (3 separate 10 strength, 10 speed attacks) -

In her mind, Azul only had a thought "Please... leave before I change again"

The tails clanged off Lexi's sword (30 Defense), and Lexi was surprised to see she had regained enough strength to fight properly again. Perhaps it was the lack of blood flowing to her head, but she felt far more bravado than she ought to.

"You raise an interesting point, my dear Azul, but I won't run away from my job this time," said Lexi, perhaps a bit over-dramatically. "I am a Shinigami! Our job is to guide souls like that one to the afterlife and to purify hollows such as yourself so they can atone for their sins."

"And I'll tell you something you ought to know ... you ARE a hollow. Once, you were just as human as that soul over there," - she pointed - "and somehow, you wound up becoming what you are now. Now I won't go into details, but would you have appreciated being eaten by a hollow while you still had a human form?"

Lexi raised her sword, pointing it right at Azul. "Yeah, I didn't think so."

She struck another ineffective blow at her (18 Strength, 4 Speed), just to make sure she hadn't dozed off during the monologue, and launched into another explanation.

"A hollow is formed from the grief of being dead," she continued. "Mostly, the loss of the ability to make contact with their loved ones but still being able to see them walk by everyday. As soon as they become a hollow, they are filled with a desire to consume those close to them when they were human ... but you're different. You only want your memories back, don't you."

"Is there anyone who had been close to you at all, then? Perhaps you could try your hand at finding those memories you want so badly just through investigation or something. Mindlessly killing innocent souls isn't always the answer, dear."

"And if you think I'm only saying all of this to save my own skin, well maybe I am. But that doesn't make it any less true. If it's a fight you want, then I'll give you a bloody fight. But there are other ways, Azul. You're different from the other hollows; you shouldn't have to be controlled by instinctual urges to kill."

Wow, Keiji was clearly right in talking to it. This thing is totally just a bright little ray of sunshine, isn't it.

But she thought she was too weak. Still, she might help, at least. It was clear, who the good guy was, wasn´t it? It´s worth a try, she thought to herself.
Waited for a long time... Now... no, now...

She jumped, eagerly, from the tree nearby, hardly believing nobody noticed her untill now, drawing even in the mid-air with her pen and creating stable large blue shield (50 Reiryaku, 10Str, 10Sp).
"There we go," she thought, closed her eyes and yelled.

"Diiiiiiiie," the weak voice cut through the air, as she weakly attacked (10Str, 10Sp) the hollow and landed.

"I am gonna die, I am gonna die, I am gonna die," was all, that got stuck in her head.

The girl had a good point. And despite the injuries, she was talking in quite a clever and eloquent way. Sure, she had a good point, but to Azul it mattered little to none... she was starting to feel the urge of ending this fight the quickest the better, behind her mask, the breath of the hollow was starting to take her over...
But it seemed it would take more time than it seemed. She blocked the weak strike of this little girl (-18 defence), who despite the obvious difference in health, keeped on fighting. Indeed, this girl was a true warrior-

"Pequeña Valkiria--- "Oh great, now I can talk in tongues" you have my respect. I apologize for insulting your honour, allow me to continue the fight, and make you die like a true warrior!"

Saying this, Azul pointed her wing straight at her face... Like she had done once before, the top feather, sharp as a sword itself, flew straight into the face of this valiant girl (20 strength, 40 speed)

That's rather nice of her. Now the only thing I have to worry about is NOT DYING.

Lexi thrust her blade upwards, deflecting the blow (20 Defense), moved backwards in anticipation for the next, but it never arrived, for a little girl - even younger than herself - had just rushed into the thick of the battle and tried to lay an attack on the hollow.

What - how did that girl get here? And what the fuck is she doing? Can ... can she see us? ... That's three in a goddamned week. How the hell are so many spiritually aware humans popping up?

"No, stop! What are you doing? You're going to be killed!"

Lexi ran over to shield the newcomer. Despite having taken several hits, her remaining strength was enough to at least get the girl out of the place.

"Listen, I don't know how you can see us, but this is too dangerous for you to get involved. Run, as quick as you can, or that hollow is going to kill you. I know you're just trying to help, but you have to get out of here."

Now she turned to face Azul.

"I'll have to thank you for the praise, Azul. Now, no matter which one of us lives, she can live knowing it was for a worthy cause that the other died. I'm thinking you want to end it quickly, lest your hollow instincts take over, no?"

"So be it."

In one fluid motion, she whipped out her sword, rushed forward, and attempted to jab it into the hollow's mask (18 Strength, 3 Speed).

She opened her eyes... and heard the clash of their weapons. She is still alive, she couldn´t believe it. And what more, the monster haven´t attacked her! Which meant... she turned around, covered by her shield and looked over the top... it´s their chance!

"I. Won´t. Give up!" she yelled at her.

I am not as weak, as she thinks I am. No, I am not.

And with these thoughts, she stood up, firm and believing in herself once again.

This human who had just entered the fight was indeed a quite special (or foolish) one. Out of the blue, she decided to join this fight despite the obvious difference in power. Azul was now at a number disadvantage, but it mattered none. She would simply deal with them as she had done for now. She blocked both attacks as they came for her - But given the change in circunstances, it was better to take a different aproach on things.

Lexi could only stare as the child slipped through under her sword arm and tried an attack on the hollow - didn't she know she was running a suicide attack? Sure enough, the strike merely bounced off the hollow's reinforced skin. Lexi cursed to herself. This was going to be a pain in the ass.

Alright, let's think. As long as she's planning to stay, that shield of hers seems reasonably sturdy, so I shouldn't have to be protecting her the whole fight. Hopefully she knows a half-decent attack or too.

Now that that's out of the way, let's strategize here a bit. Don't think I can pull too many more physical attacks on her anyone, she looks recovered enough to pull off that one crazy cheap defense. Can't assume that's the only trick she's got under her sleeve either. Now that I'm not just stalling for time anymore, I ought to try and save up my energy for a Byakurai or something.

She darted over to the human. She'd have to figure something out with her soon, lest they both end up part of the hollow's evening snack.

"Oi, you know any half-decent attacks? If you do, have at it then. I've got a BRILLIANT SCHEME (tm)."

And opened her eyes and her hand changed into the unnaturally quickly moving piece you couldn´t catch with the eye speed. Flows of the ink were striking on all the sides and if you couldn´t find the sense in it at the start, after merely tenth of a second, it was clear. There were tens of the ink flows, every one of them getting stable and hard as a steel.

And all of them were nearing the hollow, from all the possible ways.

In the tenth of a second, it was already late. (45 Reiryaku, 15 + 40 (55) Str, 19 + 45 (64) Sp)

Stay in my prison ink, she whispered weakly, weavering under her shield.

It was amazing, this little girl had produced something so beautiful with just a swing of her hand... In her time, Azul admired art when she saw it, but that was just a distant shadow in her mind.

Anyway, now was not the time to lose the little mind she had. It would we better is she did something to stop the advancing streams of ink. Though a little late, she managed to deflect most of the attack (defense 35) but she was indeed hurt.

Attacked from so many sides, Azul had lost her balance and started falling. This co-operation was starting to get her.
"No te preocupes" A voice said straight to her head...
"You are not alone, just rest, and let me handle it"
Azul was indeed tired, and any help would really be welcomed right now. Thus, she closed her eyes and gave her body to this voice.

To the casual watcher, it just seemed like Azul had recovered the balance. But now, her sky-blue eyes had changed into a wild yellow colour.

Without any words, Azul ambushed the little girl (attacks Wolfii 25 str 25 spd)

Lexi hated herself for dragging a child into the skirmish, even making her fight in it, just for that impossible dream they called survival.

Damn, that's just fucking low of me. What happened to being willing to die for my pride? ... well I might not be able to save the soul, and I probably won't even be able to save myself. But this girl is getting out of here alive, no matter WHAT.

Despite the guilt trip, Lexi was suitably impressed by the effectiveness of the girl's attack. She had never seen an attack like that, one with ink tendrils that swooped in a bombarded the hollow like bullets.

And, she noted wryly, she did a fair amount of damage. That's more than I've done all battle. Perhaps I underestimated the girl.

Now, it was time to do her own part in the attack. Perhaps the hollow would have been saving the brunt of her defense to use against her, but at the very least, it would whittle the hollow's energy reserves to nearly zero. Charging the reiatsu left within her into her fingertips and focusing it into a tangible form, Lexi was left with a pulsating sphere of crackling thunder, one that the hollow should've found horribly familiar.

"Hadou #4, Byakurai."

The bullet left her finger and blasted the air apart as it went right for the hollow's mask (50 Attack + 54 Strength + 4 Reiatsu = 108 Damage, 50 Speed + 62 Speed = 112 Speed).

(Sorry guys, my internet's slow to the point where it lags when I'm typing. Also Kolbertt, you have yet to defend against Yuki's first attack >>)

BASH! Her shield weavered... but stood still. It was HER shield, after all. (25Def).

With the lightning flying around her, she darted herself and stabbed hollow. This was their chance, maybe only. Surprise attack would be the most efficient now. (9Str + 6Reiryaku = 15 Attack, 9Sp + 14Reiryaku = 23Sp)

And even the small stab can do great things, sometimes.

As it had foreseen, the shinigami was buying time. She had now regained enough strength to make a decent attack... "Fuck... next time I'll take control from scratch"

But now, it was to late for it to complain about Azul's previous actions. He hid behind her wings to receive the obsenely strong lighting (-57 def - 21 rei 78 total)

Knowing the new body much more than Azul, it was aware of the extra eyes hidden in the tails which it could use to observe the movements of its enemies as it hid behind its wings. And he could see the little girl moving straight into them.

Thinking quickly, it received the girls stab which entered straight into their body. But it mattered none, it was part of its plan to take away this little girl who had messed up this fight. (Damage taken whole)

With so little distance between the both of them, it gave a devastating scream straight in her face. And at the same time, went with full strength against this damned intruder with a strong headbutt (45 str, 20 spd)

Lexi was pleased to see the a smoldering black mark left in the hollow's wing, as it meant a good amount of damage had been done. However, the hollow seemed to be building up its reiatsu ... that wasn't good. Not only that, but it was behaving differently. Though subtle, Azul now seemed more aggressive, more feral in her attacks. Could this be her inner hollow instincts taking over? She rather hoped not - the chances of her letting the child escape was dwindling.

And suddenly, she noticed the girl going in for another attack ... but this time, the hollow simply allowed it to stab into her body unhindered. Something wasn't right - and then it became clear.

Holy fuck, that tail has a bloody MOUTH!

It let out a piercing scream and the hollow turned around to strike. As it did, Lexi ran in to defend against the blow. With an almighty clang, the headbutt slammed into her zanpakuto (42 Defense), and although it winded her a bit, the girl was safe, as least for the moment.

"You alright there? Gave me a hell of a scare. Don't go about attacking every chance you get, save up your energy."

Lexi looked back up at the hollow, and was taken aback as she saw that its eyes were now a blazing golden hue.

... damn it, that can't be good.

Despite being in middair, "It" knew that their wings were not necesary to fly. As such, it thrusted its wing straight into that little girl with strength concentrated in the tip of her wing--- (22 str. 28 rei 50 total 29 spd)

If that shield fell, it was the end of the battle.

Great, now what the fuck do we do? We've taken down its health, but it's got far more energy than us at the moment. Ce n'est pas bon. As of right now ... I don't think we could score a single attack upon it and do damage.

And there's still the pressing matter of that stupid fucking shield it has ... thank god this girl arrived; I'd be dead if she hadn't shown up. This shield is the only thing keeping both of us alive right now.

Right on cue, the hollow gathered strength into its wing and reared back to aim a devastating assault at the poor little shield. Would it be able to survive the blow?

Even Lexi was surprised when Yuki managed to keep the shield intact. The girl might not have been the strongest of fighters, but she had boundless courage and an iron will.

And that, Lexi mused, is stronger than brute strength any day. Too bad it looks like I'm about to be proven wrong - the poor thing doesn't look like she can take much more. Guess it's time for me to do my thing.

Lexi swerved underneath the shield and, with a clang of metal on bone, met the attempted attack with her blade (20 Defense).

"Nice to see you using you head, Azul-san. Next time, try adding your brain in too. Could help at least a bit, eh?"

With a bit of applied force, she swung her sword upwards, forcing the hollow to stagger back a few steps.

Then, she suddenly burst forwards like a striking cobra, sword held in stabbing position. All evidence of blood loss and surrendering to fate was forgotten as her blade thrusted forwards and attempted to drive itself into the hollow's face (54 Strength, 50 Speed).

Now, both of them were straight in front of "it"- So, with wings still closed, she ambushed forward with the intent to impale her opponents. According to the eyes in her tails, the shinigami would suffer the blow. (20 str. 30 spd)

It prickled her cheek, and she felt a drop of blood well up. Still standing in the awkward position that, from the look of an outsider, could be seen as the hollow caressing her, Lexi began to speak.

"Yeah, I figured that out, funnily enough. Can't quite figure your own name out, though, and it seemed like it might be awkward to ask."

Withdrawing for the moment, she ducked back behind the other girl's shield.

All going as planned. We might be able to pull a victory out of this yet.

Each of her wings were splattered in blood, though not really something to be exited about, the hollow knew that if both of them were unable to remain untouched, the fight must be leading somewhere...

Both girls were tired... the almighty shield that had blocked and ruined her possibilties of a fast victory had a nice crack to its side.

It was a risk to let the girls recover... but the body was not at top condition.
With a simple thrust towards the shield, "It" would make sure the girls had little time to recover as well as catching un her breath a little (20 str, 20 spd)

She eyed the crack in the shield warily - the shield that both she and Yukiko owed their lives to appeared to be on its last legs. As such, this was not exactly a good thing.

Hmm, what now then? If the shield breaks, who knows what'll happen. And if the hollow has any more tricks up its sleeve, we're fucked. We still outnumber it, but its defense is too strong to penetrate. For now, th' fight's pretty much a standstill - we can't hurt it, and it can't hurt us. I'll go ahead and assume that's a good thing, since it means I get to get a while longer. But if we're going to end this, I'll have to -

Suddenly, small hands pushed her over to the left, and she nearly tripped over her own feet - Yukiko had gotten her out of the way of an attack and then dodged it herself, shield and all.

Not bad, Lexi had to grin in spite of herself. I've underestimated you for sure.

No, you won´t! she shouted and, raising with the help of her shield, she slashed thin air and tried to hit Azul with the ink. (9Str, 4Sp)

She looked past the hollow at Yukiko, who, she was pleased to see, was doing quite well. A bit of frantic sign language later, they had a new plan. Without so much as looking, she drove her zanpakuto at the hollow's face (54 Strength, 40 Speed).

As Lexi's attack was repelled, the hollow had turned around and thrown itself at Yuki - and she wasn't even looking. What in the world could she be doing? Just because Lexi was striking was no reason for her to lose focus - in fact, she ought to be paying even more attention considering the fact that Lexi wasn't standing right in front of her.

Desperately, the shinigami shyunpo'd herself over to Yuki. She was faster than the hollow - she knew that much at least - and she swung her blade out to meet the hollow's attack (42 Defense, 5 Reiatsu). A small pain erupted in her shoulder - some of it had gotten through. But the girl was safe for now, and that was all that mattered.

Speaking of which, Lexi turned backwards to the other girl.

"What do you think you were doing? If you're in a fight to the death, then pay some bloody attention! I won't always be here to protect you, you know!"

Heh, I remember when Keiji was yelling the exact same stuff at me. Have I really grown enough to have the right to say that? Doubt it, but oh well. Maybe if we live through this, I'll look back upon it and laugh. Maybe.

This little girl had proved to be a quite strong enemy, but now, her efficiency was surely dropping at a fast rate, now it seemed to be a burden to her partner who was still holding her shoulder in pain after blocking her attack.

Hmm, what now? A bit of lightning wouldn't do me too bad in this situation ... still, it's not quite time yet. Gotta put the evil plan into action first. Falling petals are nice, I suppose, but that ought to wait until fighting for our lives is over.

It would be a hard strike, so it landed at quite a distance from both of them and shrieked a massive war cry requesting for support--- Adapalene would not arrive to help her, it was known, but another fellow hollow could come from that fissure in space that had oppened in front of her...

It seemed to open up to hueco mundo, specifically, to a conglomeration of hollows, where a particularly powerful hollow stood bored and uninterested. it was only a matter of time before reinforcements came ...

The hollow had jumped away and Lexi had only begun to give chase when it suddenly decided to stop and let out an earsplitting racket of a cry. In fact, it appeared to have quite literally torn the very fabric of the world apart. A giant crack ran forth down the sky, and beyond it rested drifting sands underneath a blanket of midnight clouds.

Could - could it be Hueco Mundo? The Hollow World? ... is she calling for reinforcements? Shit!

We'd better finish this as soon as possible, then. Yuki knows her cue, so all I've gotta do is start this baby off ... even if she can dodge it, she's a sitting duck for the next move.

Again gathering reiatsu into her fingertips, she pressed her hands against each other and thrust them towards her foe. The flame was easily enough to burn her fingers clean off, but she could hardly feel them. The fire danced around her hands, encircling and entwining them, all the while letting vicious flares out at the hollow. She waited for her reiatsu to build ... just a little bit more ...

The fireball was almost overwhelming now. She had no choice but to begin the chant: Ye Lord! Mask of blood and flesh, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Inferno and pandemonium, The sea barrier surges, March on to the south! Hadou #31, Shakkaho! (150 Damage + 18 Strength = 168 Damage, 50 Speed + 62 Speed = 112 Speed)

It flew straight at the hollow, bearing down upon it like an eagle on its prey.

Hmm, I'm thinking it can dodge that. Only one thing to do now.

Now we´re gonna die, obachan, she turned, still smiling, on Lexi. We can´t take this one even together, you know it as well as me. I can´t finish the small one alone and we don´t have enough time to finish him together...

And she pressed her back against Lexi´s, awaiting the rage of wounded Azul and the strength of fresh Julia.

Yes--- it was done. The arrival of this hollow would mark a definite point in this fight- Now, all that mattered was to be survive this attack.

From both sides attacks came. On one side the ball of fire and lighting which she had seen at the beggining of the fight, folishly wasting all of her energy at the beggining of the quarrel and making the fight unnecesesarilly long- But now, it was accompanied by moving masses of ink- Luckily, they had enough distance between them to make them separate attacks.

First of all... that blasted spell that was coming straight for her- it was indeed the strongest of the two, but it moved slower than last time- Maybe she could dodge it without wearing herself out- Just concentrate on this... and DONE- (41 spd + 72 rei 113 total)

The fireball once again passed by- But once again, she had worn herself out. But it did not matter at the moment. All that mattered was blocking against that cursed ink, which was ,once again ,trying to squash her. A strange feeling of Deja Vu went through her head.

As surprising as she had proved to be, the little girl actually managed to harm her a little (64 defense) despite her effort.

"Hollow! take care of that damned Shinigami, I'm tired of her. But the little trash is mine"

And with this, she threw herself agains Yukiko. The little girl who was indeed cornered now. (44 str. 10 spd 5 rei 15 total)

A hollow had arrived to answer Azul's call for help, but nobody could've seen this coming. And at the same time, it was painfully obvious that it would eventually have shown its ugly face.

"So, stalker-san, you're here again, ready to scavenge on my exhausted body, aren't you? Have you been following me around since the first time I fought you? I'm flattered, but I'd really rather if you stopped."

The power was enormous, easily enough to crush any ordinary human into pieces. Lexi found it taxing to even stand up straight. Even more problematic, she heard laughter behind her, and turned around to meet a strangely carefree Yuki-chan. And as she heard the little girl's words, her heart went mad with terror at not being able to save the girl.

Only one way out of this now.

"Pfft, what the fuck are you talking about? Of course I can take them! Don't worry, I've got a move that'll send them to their graves like, right away and shit. You, however, need to get the hell out of here, coz I can't control it very well, and there's no way I'll use it if you're anywhere within a mile of me, so you'd better start running."

She leaned in closer a bit.

"Yeah, that wasn't very good, was it now. New plan: You get the hell away from here, or I'm seriously going to pick you up and throw you as hard as I can."

"Oh, I'm sorry but I don't recall your face from anywhere, you must not be very important. Also unfortunately for you I don't swing that way so you wouldn't be a very fun pet either," Julia stated right before appearing right next to the shinigami. "Your show of bravado was interesting, but I doubt you're even capable of scratching me, so disappear like a good shinigami."

Keiji arrived at the scene, it was quite gruesome. As things looked, Lexi was just on the receiving end of a very heavy blow and the human he saw looked out of it as well. This would be quite the battle indeed, but if he played his cards right he'd be able to get out of this just fine as long with everyone else. He just had to play his cards right.

"Hello ladies."

The flying tail hit Lexi like a ton of bricks, instantly knocking the wind out of her and sending her flying for what seemed like miles. The attack was packed with so much force that it shattered her bones to pieces and shards of them pierced her back, jutting out like stakes in a vampire. Blood poured out of her mouth, and her organs were rearranged into a tangle of innards, each of them spewing various fluids from the tears that the impact had produced in them. It felt like the very embodiment of pain itself had run its course through her body, all bleeding guts and misplaced bones and uselessly flailing limbs.

It felt like a million hot swords jabbed into her body, like a swarm of piranha devouring her alive, like being lit on fire and shot and struck by thunder all at once. It didn't feel like anything at all anymore; it was just excruciating pain to the hundredth degree.

She hurtled through the sky, past cloud and over plains, soaring in a graceful arc until she lost her momentum and her battered corpse slammed down upon the ground, splattering blood and guts around for meters, limbs hanging by mere threads of flesh.

At least that's how she'd like you to think it was.

In reality, she was just sent flying, entirely ungracefully, past Yukiko and into a nearby tree, upon which she fractured her skull, bled all over the place, and leveled said tree.

Out of the corner of her eye, her fleeting sense of vision caught a faint image of someone arriving. Just before she lost consciousness, Lexi managed to produce one last coherent thought.

... Keiji? Heh ... you'd better not get your ass kicked.

"Oh, you there. Seems like I keep running into you. You strong enough to take this guy?" he asked... dispite the fact the hollow was female.

Before recieving an answer he waved his hand.

"Doesn't matter, I'll be helping you regardless,"

He flashed a grin.

With sky-blue eyes, she looked at the shinigami in front of her, and completely ignored the fact that the little girl took Lexi and run away -

She would counter his attack with a harsh sweep with her tail, attacking him before his blade would even get close enough to even scratch her (70 Strength, 70 Speed)(Counter). How do counter-attacks work?

oh, if you wanted to make it a counter attack, you need to make sure and make that real clear.

basically counter attacks are you matching the speed AND strength of an attack, and anything extra goes through.

So like, if you used that 70 attack as a counter to my 33 attack, it would mean you'd be doing 37 points of damage.

It's kind of tricky, and costly (defending first, then attacking means much more damage usually) which is why it's not used often, especially since you can dodge for the same speed, with no strength cost. But it does have some advantages (you can't dodge a counter attack, for instance, but you have to counter with the same sort of attack, a normal physical one, an energy one, etc)

She turned her attention to Nobuo once more, that attack he pulled off couldn't have been easy on him. "Let's see if you can do that again." She flung the sickles once more (Cost 100 Damage 100 Speed 100), followed by a swift punch to his gut (70 Strength, 70 Speed)

He knew it would do a bit more damage than his previous strikes (54 aint bad)

"that tail of yours must be starting to hurt pretty bad, eh monster?" he laughed as he pulled his blade back. He was prepared to defend against the next attack, whatever it may be.

"Remember what I said about ignoring me, well try to just shake this one off!" he placed both palms in front of him, slightly above his head. "Trust me, you'll be feeling this one even after you end up getting purified." He then moved his hands in circle, leaving behind small balls of fire at certain points which equally divided the circle once it was completed. "SHAKKOHO, OVERLOAD!!!" he roared as all the balls of fire quickly sped off on a collision course with the hollow (Cost 75 Damage 150 Speed 50)x8.

That was some assault coming his way. He didn't have much of a chance, really. He fueld some reiryaku into himself in order to help defend against the first attack (defense 66 + 34 reiryaku), and then the next attack, he barely managed to dodge, (33 speed + 1 reiryaku)

He was completely caught by the last attack, which sliced open a gash in his chest, spilling blood across the ground. Luckily, the gash wasn't too deep. He glanced up to see a rain of fire falling from the sky.

"Now that's what I like to see!" he exclaimed, and following Keiji's lead, began lighting up with shakkahos of his own. He launched 3 full powered shakkahos(cost 75, damage 150, speed 50) x 3, (cost 38, damage 75, speed 25).

That was all she could think when she saw that torrent of flames coming toward her. She tried dodging what she could, but would still feel a large portion of the damage. Four of the fireballs connected with her body, burning her greatly, she tried to minimize what she could ((4*150)=600-17 defense-9 reiryoku=574 damage).

It hurt like hell, but she'd take down one of the shinigami with her at least. She sped towards the shinigami she had been trying to bring down this entire time, claws both ready to slash at him. She brought them down upon him swiftly (223 Strength+31 reiryoku, 103 reiryoku into speed)

"A lot of people got involved to make sure you got out safe. How about becoming strong and repaying them someday hmmm?" With that he tapped it on the head, sending it to the other side.
