While I don't think IchiTatsu is going to become canon by the end, it was one of the first pairings I supported (before I succumbed to the ShipQueen that is IchiRuki) and I still see factors that I look for in an ideal ship in it. It has friendship, it has understanding, it has equality, but it also has tension - all in all, it would be THE pairing, if only there was signs of romantic attraction. But ah well, I like it nonetheless.


So... joinage? I'm a sucker for childhood-friends-romance. No matter how fanatical obsessed with other pairings I become, I'm still weak for IchiTatsu and RenRuki; it just strikes something in me, I guess. *weeps over chapter 238, likely the only Bleach chapter that made me cry*

The only reason why I would be against this is that Tatsuki might be too good for Ichigo and that she really only wants Orihime (don't ask), but that's all... w/e. :P

Heh, you know, I was tempted to make this thread the other day, but I wasn't sure I should since IchiTatsu isn't necessarily my OTP or even my first ship choice for one of the characters involved. But really, I still love the idea of the ship. I was honestly a bit disappointed that Orohime got center stage instead of Tatsuki as the other girl member of the comrades, because really, Tatsuki's always been there for Ichigo. She's one of the few people who knew his past, and one of the few people he really actually counted on his life. Orohime was originally essentially introduced as that ditzy friend of Tatsuki's, even if she's more now.

So yeah, I'm definitely a fan of this pairing, even if it's not my first Ichigo ship choice. I really have little doubt that if Rukia hadn't come along, Ichigo and Tatsuki would have gotten together, and I'm REALLY looking foward to seeing more of her, since I'm sure she's going to manifest special powers and get training from Urahura. I'm thinking she's become a Shinigami with a Fox Zanpaktou like in the picture in the SOULs book, and be part of a rescue group that'll pull Ichigo and company out of Hueco Mundo - perfect time for Tatsuki to beat some sense into him, too!

But yea, to me Ichigo x Tatsuki always had the most interesting potential and dynamic going on. Childhood friends, strain in the friendship, him closing himself off to her, her still being his friend and helping him out despite that. Ichigo needs to drift his way back to Tatsuki :yell

Chap Goh Mei is a Hokkien term for ‘fifteenth day for the first lunar month, the first full month of the New Year. This occasion is marked by various festivities, namely Lantern Festival, Chinese Valentine Day Festival and eating tangyuan(normally done on Winter Solstice Day). These different festive celebrations have their own separate celebrate date, but somehow they are brought together to be celebrated on one day.

Lantern Festival >> There are two types of Chinese Lantern Festival, one that is celebrated on 15/first lunar moon and the other one is celebrated on 15/eighth lunar moon.

The First Lantern Festival(15/1)
Long time ago, an emperor dreamt about his home palace being burned down, believing that it was a bad omen. Some of the court officials used the emperor’s dream as an opportunity to set thousands of concubines and female servants free from the home palace, by telling the emperor to that the dream was indeed a bad omen and the palace would be burnt down to the ground by deities. In order to avoid impending disaster, each female resident in the imperial palace must carry a lantern and go home, thus fooling the deities in believing there was already a fire in palace and people were fleeing, and every one would return to the palace afterwards. The emperor agreed and of course, there was no fire at the palace and the emperor credited the supposedly successful aversion of the disastrous fire with what was done, and hence he decreed the event to become a regular festival. As a result, the festival eventually became a family reunion day(the girls went back respectively to their homes) when it merged with other Chinese traditions of various regions in China over time.

The Second Lantern Festival(15/8)
It is sometimes referred as Mid-Autumn Festival. Originally intended for friends and families to gather together, to eat moon cakes and pomeloes and enjoy admiring the bright mid-autumn harvest moon(which happen to be the brightest and roundest throughout the whole year). Mid-Autumn Festival also has a romantic Chinese eternal love story that is similar to the Tanabata story, about a couple(HouYi and Chang Er) who were separated from each other and could only come together during the Mid-Autumn Festival, when the moon itself is in it’s fullest and brightest (bright mid-autumn harvest moon).

Chinese Valentine Day (15/1)
Chinese Valentine Day is also celebrated on Chap Goh Mei, but on a smaller scale in compared to the other festival during the Chinese New Year. However in compared to the other Chinese Valentine Day (7/7, Tanabata), the former one is preferred because Chinese Valentine Day (7/7) falls during the Chinese Ghost Month (possibly they don’t want to mingle love and ghost together, or making their love to be forbidden). It is also my opinion, that Chap Goh Mei is a much more happier occasion than 7/7 Chinese Valentine day, because there is no rain, and unmarried girls would be able to go out and meet their prospect suitors on a date throughout the whole night. In certain places, the girls would throw tangarines into the river / sea in hope that the tangarines that they throw, would be picked up by their fated partners.


Rules & Regulations:
Chap Goh Mei Night is also a Chinese Valentine Day, like Tanabata 7/7 Night, but with a slight difference. The moon on Chap Goh Mei is a full moon, while the Tanabata moon is a sickle moon.

RenjixRukia is the main couple for the love contest Chap Goh Mei. As it is a Chinese Valentine Day, your other favourite couples, other than RenjixRukia are welcomed to ‘join in’ the festival fun, the more coupling the merrier. Provided the other couple is not the rivaled coupling for RenjixRukia. No IchigoxRukia, RenjixHinamori, RenjixOrihime, RenjixIchigo, RukiaxOrihime pairing are allowed allowed. Maybe a slight ByakuyaxRukia is allowed.

You can do anything on RenjixRukia Chap Goh Mei; you can even have Renji and Rukia in a Halloween/Christmas/Thanksgiving, with a condition that there is no element of rain, no sickle moon (full moon is better) inside.

Try breaking out the usual norm for RenjixRukia coupling.

The part where Tatsuki's face when she tells Inoue about how Ichigo's mother's death affects her. My favourite.

With the possibility of the setting changing from Hueco Mundo to Karakura Town I hope for the possibility of Tatsuki reappearing in the story. Kind of split between the idea of her having powers and their strength if that happens...but I think it'd be nice to see her again.

She's worried about Ichigo for sure, they're extremely close friends even if they don't interact as much, you always have a special connection to that childhood friend, and she has seen him go off to fight multiple times so I'm sure she knows that he is in danger constantly.

A friendly hug would be great, I think this relationship should have been utilized more, Ichigo and Tatsuki have a lot chemistry together I think, a hug would be perhaps a little off for how the story has gone, but I think it would be nice to see a friendship reunion with the whole Karakura gang, I think there should be a little focus on Ichigo and Tatsuki, they should have a short convo.

I think for me I see a lot of elements in Tatsuki that I see in Rukia, this is why I think Ichigo x Tatsuki could have played out well if certain events had unfolded differently. Tatsuki is a strong girl who has a forceful personality, with a lot of endearing caring qualities to her, their relationship would or could still have those hot and cold moments, let's all hope for a hot yet sweet moment in the future.

I don't want to make this a who fits Ichigo better softer vs harder characters since we can all see where that might lead to, but in many ways Tatsuki is a Rukia like character, Rukia without powers, I could see Tatsuki giving Ichigo they same kind of encouragement that Rukia gives, which is of course kicks to the head followed by a nice personal talk.

Lol, I felt obligated to join the IchiRuki FC because I like the pairing...but srly it's HUGE. And practically canon...not officialy, but it will be one day. SO thats why I have to go and join all the FCs for the pairings that I aren't gonna happen but would still be cool. The big ships can be nice to join, but it also means that you have to withstand some of the utter bullcrap that comes with it, including psychotic shippers who need to get a handle on what is right to say and what isn't right.

I'm a member of the IchiRuki FC because I like the pairing, same as in here but with both I try to keep a handle on the shipping wars which can become frustrating, both those that are against my ship, and those that are in my ship.

I would say the shipping wars are not that bad here, they exist a little, but I think it's actually more constrained to grumbling in the individual FCs about what others say, I haven't seen that many where you get back and forth type arguing, I think the mods have done a good job, it's definitely worse on other sites. Those that try to prove their ship I think need to understand that others can read a story differently.

I'm a member of the IchiHime and IchiRuki FCs but I rarely visit the latter because I know that I'm sometimes upset by what's said :um So I just enjoy IchiRuki in private. (I've been thinking IchiRukiHime is totally gonna end up as a canon threesome, ala Sora/Kairi/Riku. Feel free to think I'm crazy. :oops)

But on the other hand, I love IchiTatsu (and IchiNel) even if they aren't the "big ships" because I appreciate the relationships. One reason I love IchiTatsu is that they were great friends as kids, and I'm a sucker for childhood friend!ships. (Cloti!) Even if it won't be canon like RukiHime I still love it.

It's always great to see a FC like this one get bumped, I always have loved these two, I always thought that Kubo didn't do enough with them, but then again Tatsuki like my second favorite character in Bleach, so I guess that's a major reason why I love these two.

Kubo got this one wrong when he didn't include Tatsuki in his plans, I still think there was so much potential for her character as well as her potential on the impact she would have on other characters such as Ichigo.

Well I would think most of them would be shocked, because I don't think many of them know the connection that the two have, I don't really think many know Ichigo from his time as a young child, I think people that know Ichigo might understand eventually though why they get together as I think the two might have best conflicting personalities of the people in Karakura group.

I think the person that would be the least shocked would be Chad, one because he barely shows any emotion at all, and two because those two have a similar deep connection.

The person that would be most shocked I think would be Orihime because of the obvious reasons.

The thing about these two is that it's the only relationship among the Karakura group that has so much history (childhood friends). It's my belief that Kubo really dropped the ball when he decided not to include Tatsuki among those that get screentime. It just seems as if this relationship could be so much more, because Tatsuki has actually seen Ichigo grow from what he was to who he is now. I think it would be interesting to have that perspective. I also think that it would be funny to have Tatsuki tease Ichigo about things in their past.

This relationship could have been a very deep and rewarding relationship if Kubo hadn't made the dumb move to not include someone as awesome and unique (to the bleach world) as Tatsuki.
