This is a trilogy I wrote awhile ago and have posted it on quite a few forums. Thought I would share it with you guys. I guess I'll post a chapter or part once a day.

VIRAL OUTBREAK

Prologue

There were four of us. The only four survivors of a town called Galliga. My name is Char, I’m 23 years old. The others were Kyle, an old friend of mine from school days. He was 22. The third survivor of the mansion was Jennifer, or Jen for short. She was 22 as well. The only other survivor was a guy named Danny, who was the helicopter pilot. We stepped out of the helicopter, finally glad that our days of hell were over. Back to reality, I thought. I walked towards a restaurant, where I planned to eat. Ever since the second day in the mansion, I hadn’t eaten much. There was only bare rations on the helicopter, which we were on for seven hours.
“Anyone else HUNGRY...?”
“Yeah, count me in. And I’m sure Jen and Danny are coming too, RIGHT...?” Danny nodded, and we all walked into the pizza shop. Jen stood still.
“Guys, count me out. I’m going to meet up with family. Nice meeting you all though...” And she turned and walked off. She got lucky.
We each ordered, and only twenty minutes later, as we were eating, a scream broke the peace. A man ran into the pizza parlor, with giant bite marks in his shoulder. He was yelling about some cannibal.
“No way!” Danny had stepped up and yelled. The man fell onto his back, and poured from the wound. Waiters began debating what to do, and someone called 911. People were running outside screaming. We held our position.
“This can’t be... The monsters from Whidder?”
I had an immediate flashback of the helicopter. That word- Whidder- The only word I could make out of somthing he was muttering. I didn’t understand.
“What is Whidder? And what monsters are you talking about... Danny?”
He remained silent. Kyle sighed, and then his eyes widened. He had his eyes on the man on the floor. And I turned, and realized why. The man’s skin was tinting gray, and his eyes were rolling back into his head. He stood up, uttered a moan, and lunged at our table. Kyle jumped from his seat, and fired four shots from his handgun. The man dropped down, and we took our oppurtunity to run. Danny was flushed of color. We were confused.
I lead them out, and we headed towards our rental car. I jumped to the driver’s door, and realized it was locked. The keys were inside. I went white.
“Guys... The keys are inside!”
“Char, you f*ckin idiot!” Kyle hit me in the arm. He looked up from the car and whispered “Oh help me God.”
I immediatly knew why. The streets were being blockaded with large rocks being lowered by helicopters. There were police around the edges of the streets holding AKs and assualt rifles. One man held a high-powered Launcher. They signaled something, and climbed over the rocks. Immediatly, gunfire broke out, and sick screams came through the area. Suddenly, windows shattered and the monster from the restaurant came out, followed by more. The waiters, the people who stayed inside... All had become like the first one. Kyle pulled out his Smith and Wesson, and pushed us back. “Char. Lead them away. I’ll take these.”
“Gotcha.” I hurried towards an alley, and Danny followed. He then put his hand in his pocket and pulled out a polished handgun, Beretta 9mm with a loaded clip. He undid the safety, and nodded to me. I knew why: He was going back. I hurried on.
After close to an hour, I fell to my knees. I then pulled my cell from my pocket, and dialed the number Kyle had given me on the helicopter. No response. I put my hands on my head, and screamed. Suddenly, I heard running, and Danny came towards me.
“Char! You’re alive! Hurry!” He lead me up two alleys, and then we were on the main street. There were hundreds of the monsters around the streets. Kyle now held a SPAS 12 Shotgun, and was firing rapidly. Danny handed me a rifle from a large box, and said “Good luck. Keep ... They don’t die easy.”
“What the hell are these...”
“Just shoot. Don’t ask questions.”
I began sending shells into the creatures nearby, and moving backwards as I noticed that they were the ones that seemed to be advancing.
“Damnit Danny... We’re losing!”
“God... This is a nightmare. I’m gonna have to make the smart decision for us, and force you to run with me. I don’t know what happened to Kyle, but we can’t take these things. You know how I was in the helicopter when I picked you up? I stole that copter from a town going through the same crisis as this. I escaped... Luckily.”
“So you know what these things are!?”
“They’re... They’re the walking . Zombies... We don’t stand much of a chance against them.”
“Man... I don’t wanna leave Kyle. But...”
“Yeah, we don’t have a choice. Give your respects while we can still hold them off, but in five minutes we have to go. In only ten minutes... I can take a guess that this place’ll be completely overrun by these zombies. So you have a decision to make.”
“I... I’m staying.”
I couldn’t leave my best friend Kyle behind... We both became like brothers after the mansion. That mansion was hell... Galliga. It brings things all back to how he saved my life. I guess I should tell you all the story. This is how it all happened, how I happened to meet with Kyle again... And the others.
The Lightning flashed and the boom shook the windows of the mansion. Nine others were couped inside: Other than him. We were the only ones who made it out of the hellhole called Galliga. The city had been torched, and a caused this. The mansion was the only remains- The last escape for those nine.
The streets were full of people, as was every day. No one expected any problems, but they never did. They thought life in Galliga to be perfect. In fact, it was... somewhat. The time was 9:17. I remember well... We all do. We who lived, anyway. The bells of an alarm system rang out. This was unusual- We never had problems, thus they were only used for extremes. People began stopping at the building as they passed, looking inside. The vial had dropped- The last drop shot the poisonous fumes out of the open window. In a matter of minutes, people were shrieking in pain as the virus sucked their energy, their ... All signs of life away, until they began to rot.
I was one of the lucky nine. The main streets had never been way to travel for me. And traffic that morning was . So I took a sidestreet, a short cut some call it. I heard on the radio... That was when I knew. They called for vaccinations, for some kind of help... But none came. None ever would. They would have been too late anyway. Our people were never ready for an outbreak of this caliber. I turned my car in a complete spiral, and sped towards that place... Why I did never occured to me. But in my gut, I could only think that it was safest there... And it was. So we thought...
Entering that cold black mansion, my heart pounded heavily. I looked around for anyone else, but no one was there. I called out, but to no answer. I realized that I was alone, and thoughts spun through. I wondered if the virus had hit here or not... But after quite some time, I calmed down and knew it hadn’t. I’dve died by then. But then as I sat on the cold, marble stairs, thinking to myself, the doors creaked open again. Five people, three women, two men, stepped inside, panting. One woman yelled, “It is all % We have a matter of seconds until ! We can only pray that...”
“No,” I replied. They turned to me, startled. I stepped up. “I’ve been here in hiding for two hours now... The viral outbreak occured way in the center of the city. We’ve got at least until nightfall. Then we’ll know.”
“NO! We MUST leave this place at once!” The woman yelled. She had brown hair, straight down, covering half of her face and her brown eyes stared at me coldly. I knew she’d be a stubborn sort, not ready to listen or understand...
“Keira... This MAN... He’s right. We must stay here. Where else could we go...?” A man stepped forward and held this , known as Keira, on her shoulder. She sighed, and finally calmed down.
“The rain... It shall come. And it WILL spread... It will kill us ALL! The plague wants us... We cannot cheat ... It knows we are alive. And it will come to chase us to the far corners of hell...” Keira said with a strange grin, or as far as I could see and remember from our first meeting. I think those words haunted all of us... Even Keira herself.

Chapter 1- The Story All Begins...

The first man, who had comforted Keira, stepped up. “I’m Chris. This is Keira, my friend. The other two women are Jennifer and Katlyn. And this guy... He’s Michael. But he’s a mute. Don’t mind him...”
“I’m Char. But names are not important. We should check this place out, and I suggest we do so by splitting up. We have six people... There are three doors. We go in groups of two, and--”
“No. I say Chris should lead us. More of us know him...” Katlyn replied. “Plus, I KNOW Chris would make a great leader.”
Katlyn was a haired , blue eyes, and everything a guy could want. She had good looks, a y voice, but as traditional s go, she wasn’t the brightest crayon in the box, so to speak. She was a waitress at a small restaurant in town, called the Fortune Diner. She still had her work outfit on- She must have been on her way during the outbreak.
Chris was a black haired, brown eyed guy with a bad, cold-hearted attitude. He had a blue tank top and black pants on over a pair of white sneakers. You could tell by his face he wasn’t exactly the guy you wanted to mess around with. He worked as a police officer in Galliga. He was in the Special Unit, and he liked to show that off by flashing his badge alot.
Jennifer was a beautiful with brown eyes, wearing a black t-shirt with short cut arms and black wrist bands. She wore black pants straight down to her knees, and small black heels. She was unemployed.
Michael was a black eyed man of black hair. He wore a red shirt and a silver chain around his neck with a pendant at the edge. He wore a pair of jeans. He also seemed unemployed. But I couldn’t help but wonder about him...
I was a young, blue eyed, brown hair guy. I was wearing a blue basketball jersey, and a pair of jeans also. It was Saturday, so I had off from work at the office.
“Alright, as leader, and police officer... I suggest we go into teams like this. Char, you and Jennifer can head out the door to the right. Mike and Katlyn... Take the left door at the top of the hall. Me and Keira can take the other.”
“You two should split yourselves... Keira and you isn’t the smartest grouping. You may get distracted,” But my warning was to no avail. Chris didn’t want to be apart from his friend, so I sighed and walked out with Jennifer. Jen and I kept silent most of our way. We searched through the hallways, which seemed to stretch endlessly for miles... We entered rooms, such as a billiard room, a small kitchen, a lounge... But nothing. Not a soul was there. I checked my watch, and looked at Jen. I nodded to her. “Jen. It’s been an hour. We should try to retrace our steps...”
Moments later, we encountered a disastrous site. It was a puddle of dragging on through the door we entered, where a dripping sound was heard from the hall. Jen and I looked up, and saw a body hanging from the giant chandelier thread in the Center Hall of the mansion. It was Chris, who had been hanging, his lower body ripped off his upper half. dripped down... And a voice was heard, echoing through the Hall, singing... “The has been shed of the first... Next you all shall be dispersed...”
“Oh my God... CHRIS!” Jen screamed out. “No... Chris... Oh my God we are ALL gonna DIE!!”
“No. Stay calm, Jennifer. Where was Keira... I can only wonder how... What did this to him?”
Keira ran out from a door on the second floor, and ran to the steps screaming. “Chris!!! I never meant what I said! I’m... OH MY GOD! NO!!! He !”
“Keira... This was . No man can do this himself. What happened...?” I asked her continously. She remained in her frozen state of horror. Tears dripped from her eyes, staining her make-up. Jennifer kept a cool, collected face. She seemed really calm all of a sudden. The others hadn’t returned, and so far I could tell it could only get worse from here...

Chapter 2- The Story Unfolds

The times were harder. How could we expect to survive when one of our own was ALREADY ...? Keira seemed all too silent during those times. Michael and Katlyn weren’t back from their search yet, either. Only Jennifer, Keira, and I sat in that giant marble hall... Until the hour that the clock struck eight. The words we spoke echoes off those dark walls, the shadows we emitted grew taller as the sun set... And the doors opened. Immediatly scared, we hid in the closet under the stairs. It was three people.
“Anyone here...?” called a man. He was tall, brushed off, with a black overcoat and a white t under. He had a pair of sunglasses on, covering his hazel eyes, and his black hair glistened in the setting sun. His long black pants shown something from his pocket, a silver chain. He stepped forward again. “Anyone here?! Goddamnit, answer me!”
“Kyle... It’s useless.” called a . She was shorter than their group. A , with brown eyes and a beautiful sapphire necklace stepped up. She had a blue jacket over a white tanktop, and jeans on. Her long brown hair swooped down almost to her ankles, and she often found herself pushing it back. “Ugh... We are not making the right choice coming to this... Mansion. But I guess it is a nice place to stay, and the free rent is a bonus... Although this is no time for jokes, eh guys?”
“Kate... Chill. Hey Myra, you are ok about this as well, I am sure...?”
Myra was a young , seemingly 18 or 19, whereas we were all in our early twenties. I was 23. Myra swung her hair back, and looked at Kyle.
“Ky... I don’t care.” She had blue eyes, showing as beautiful as the sapphire around Kate’s neck. Her red shirt and black pants shown through, however, the fire burning in her eyes. I thought right from the beginning that her attitude would be one like Keira’s.
We decided to step out. Kyle and the others looked at us strangely. He saw me, and gasped. “Hey... I’m Char. We were all stranded here after the... Incident at Galliga. We have no choice. We must escape within this week. That is... If we live to see tomorrow...” I pointed up at Chris. Horrified, Kate closed her eyes and ran to the steps. Myra laughed, and Kyle had a disgusted look on his face.
“What the hell... How did this happen?”
“I... Left him. I ran backwards, and he continued on. Oh it’s all my fault!! I could’ve... I should’ve been there... Dammit! Chris!!! Please wake up... Please...” Keira responded and we looked towards her. She had tears in her eyes again.
“KEIRA! He’s . Understand it. It’s not your fault...” I tried to comfort her, but I wasn’t the best at that field of work. She went over towards Kate, and they talked on the steps. After two more hours, we got together. “Look. As much as I can say... I think Mike and Katlyn... Have been killed out there. Whatever did this to Chris hit them as well. Keira... Did you meet up with Michael or Katlyn?”
“No... I wish I would have. In fact, I’ll go search for them!!”
“Jennifer and I could...”
“No, Char, that is ok... I’ll do this myself...” She had that glare in her eye that she had when I met her, some hours before. She walked out, and Kyle and I finally talked face to face.
“Long time, eh Kyle...?”
“No reunions, Char. Making this clear... I don’t want to get involved with you. There’s no reason we should have met. I guess the hands of fate do have part in life. I forgot about you completely-- We were friends in grade school, but once high school came we became enemies through sports and competition. Then the gang wars and such...”
“This is a completely different thing, goddamnit! A gang war in high school is nothing compared to surviving in a town that has a virus in the air, and in a mansion where you never know what will happen next.”
“Well... As long as you’re here, we may as well work together. You know Char... This isn’t gonna be a walk in the park. You lost someone a day into this already...” As he said this, a scream echoed from the room across us. I ran in to see Katlyn surrounded by flames, being burned up. Michael and Keira ran in minutes later, and Michael jumped through the fire and threw Katlyn out. He came out as well, and as he did, he tripped in the flames. “MICHAEL!!!”
“Char... I’ll take this.”
“Kyle... Don’t do anything stupid.” He jumped in and dove for Michael, igniting his jacket. Michael got out safely, and Kyle walked out, not suffering any injury. His jacket incinerated in the flames. Suddenly, the fire disentigrated like it was just an illusion in our minds. Michael and Katlyn’s burns then dissolved as well. Katlyn was petrified in fear. We could only wonder what happened, and as we entered the Hall again, we looked up to the chandelier to see nothing of or the body of Chris. The carpet shown no state of stains, no evidence of his . Katlyn now asked where Chris was. I responded, “He’s gone. He was hung here, and his whole lower body was ripped off. But now... There’s nothing left. Like... We imagined it all... But there were flames... Kyle’s jacket is gone... And Chris...”
“But things DON’T just disappear... Right? Right?” Katlyn was shaking, not wanting to accept the bizarre truth that was in front of them. But she had to.
“Katlyn.” Kyle looked at her with a sort of flame through his eyes. “You have to learn to get over things like this, and accept them.”
“But... Chris is...”
“I don’t care what you want to think, , but we aren’t going to throw away our lives for some ditzy like you. Now accept the truth, or die trying to deny it.”
“Kyle!”
“Katlyn. Chris was my boyfriend, and I learned to accept that he’s gone.” Keira’s cold voice sent a chill down my spine. I turned away from her, and looked up the steps. Kate, Myra, and Jennifer sat there, talking, and trying to stay calm. Michael was holding his glasses, trying to clean them. I looked outside, and saw nothing. The three cars out front had disappeared as well. I was smart, though, and didn’t mention this. I didn’t want to scare the others. We had enough to deal with...
That night, we all slept in pairs, except Keira. She couldn’t sleep with anyone else, now that Chris had died. I stayed with Jen and Kate (I had slept on the floor), Kyle with Myra, Michael with Katyln, and Keira kept to herself. That night... Another of our number became a victim.
“OH MY GOD!”
“It’s Katlyn!” I yelled across the room. Michael was a mute, he couldn’t scream... I stood up, and ran across the hall. I grabbed the door’s handle, and twisted quickly. But the door remained closed. A lock shifted in the keyhole, and my eyes widened with . I tried to kick the door down, but it was no use. I could only sit and listen as the screams died down... Lower... And lower... Until they ended. The lock unclosed. Michael was unconcious, but... Katlyn had met a gruesome fate. Her lips had been cut off, her nostrils sown shut... And her eyes sown as well. Her body was slashed up- was spilled everywhere. I grimaced. Suddenly, Kyle ran in.
“Char... How did this happen!? I knew I couldn’t leave the right hall to you...”
“I was trying to get in, and... The door locked itself! Unless... You think... Michael can’t be the er... It went after him.”
“Char... Maybe that was staged.”
Kate and Jen ran in the room, and both uttered screams. Kate ran out of the room, clutching her stomach. Jen stared in horror at her former friend, Katlyn. Or what WAS Katlyn. Michael began to stir, and awoke.
“MICHAEL! Who did this!”
“Kyle! Force won’t help... He can’t talk!”
Suddenly, another scream tore through the silence. Keira lay on her bed, as she watched Myra writhe in pain on the ground. Myra yelled out loudly, but Keira sat on her bad, doing nothing...
“HELP ME!!! THE PAIN IS GROWING!!” Myra grabbed a knife nearby her, which she had gotten earlier from the kitchen, and without warning...

Chapter 3- The Toll Grows

Keira stared down upon Myra, and clutched her blanket tightly. She ducked under, and moments later, Kyle and Char got to the left hall where Myra and Keira were.
“Oh my God Kyle... Clear off. It is f*ckin clear off. This is... Disgusting. She must have been in real pain to take -”
“CHAR! Myra was... My friend... Oh my God... I can’t look at this, man. Please... Take me away. PLEASE... I can’t see her like this... Oh my God... Myra...” I never had seen Kyle like this before. It felt sort of weird... He had always been the most courageous person I knew. I held him by the shoulder and moved him out of Keira’s room. I had only wondered... Why hadn’t Keira tried to help? Petrified with fear...? I didn’t know. Keira had always sort of scared me though. Especially now... That evil grin was spread across her face- The one from the time I met her... She had spoken a strange message. About... !
“Keira... You know something.”
“What...? Look, I have less information than you do. Tell me something, what were YOU doing in this mansion when we got here!?”
“KEIRA!” I grabbed the blanket from her arms. She was holding a black pendant in her hands. I reached for it, and she pulled back quickly, laughing hysterically. Her eyes sort of rolled back into her head.
“Char... You want me? Come and get me...” I walked slowly towards her, and suddenly felt in some kind of peaceful bliss. I had tripped over Myra and hit my head on the bedside post... I remember feeling like everything had been solved, nothing to worry about... And then a pain like nothing ever before. Like a knife was stabbed through my forehead, digging in... And then...
A rush of relief came over me as I was swept back into reality. Kyle was holding a Beretta 9mm to the head of Keira. Keira had dropped the pendant. The color in her face had disappeared. She seemed to be half-alive. “Kyle... Why is there a--”
“Woman. If you ever... Ever...”
“Kyle. Gimme the gun. NOW!” I grabbed the gun and twisted it on my finger, ing it back. I aimed at Keira. “Now... What is wrong with you!? What is that Pony! pendant...?!”
“Char...? What do you... I don’t understand!” Clearly, I thought, she was telling the truth. She looked petrified, not the way she was a few moments ago. Then I remembered- The pendant. I looked down, and saw it shining on the ground. With quick aim, I fired a shot at the pendant and it shattered into a thousand pieces. This... Was a bad move.
Dust flew from inside the pendant and surrounded us. Immediatly the word supernatural formed in my mouth, but I was unable to speak. I looked around, and the mansion dissolved. My eyes forcibly closed. At their awakening, we were in total blackness. Kyle, Keira, Kate, Jennifer, Michael, and myself. The area soon shifted to the mansion hall. Or so we thought.
Immediatly it began to melt away, and flames grew from the ground. We were pushed together in a circle. I realized that I still had the Beretta in my left hand. I then felt arms around me. It was Jennifer.
“Help me through this...” she whispered to me. I didn’t have a repsonse... How could I help her, when I couldn’t help myself? I couldn’t help anyone... I was hopeless.
BANG!
A shot rang out, and the area around me shattered. Jennifer faded from me, and instead, a man with long white hair and a black coat stood in front of me. He faced me, with a dark look on his face. One word he said made me realize something was wrong. “Go,” he said.
I ran the opposite direction, and heard voices yelling “He’s getting away!” or “He’s escaping!” I just rushed forward, not knowing what the hell was wrong or where the hell to go. Turning so many corners, cutting through so many rooms... Eventually... I realized I had gotten lost in the labyrinth of a mansion.
“Kyle... Kate... Jennifer...”
“You forgot someone.”
I turned quickly, to see the man again. He was covered in scars on his chest, which the open jacket showed clearly. He smirked. Looking at his face closely, he had a dark look in his eyes. “Who are you? Who were they?”
“They... Are people out to kill any survivor. Galliga’s incident was a spread of an new-type virus. It contracts inside the body, and kills any living cell it finds. The hospital was holding large doses of it, because combining it with Morphine created a new cure for pain. Any pain... But someone, apparently an official form the hospital... Knew the virus was . And they ‘accidentally’ leaked it throughout town. Anyone in the radius of town is ... Except the ones in this mansion. This mansion... Back many years ago was used as a shelter. They have filters all over this place. The virus couldn’t spread through the air in here... It’s all cleaned up. The troops back there are from the United States Army. They want to cover this all up... Apparently, they don’t want the world knowing we have a virus capable of this destruction... It will be a little hard explaining the s of thousands... So the survivors are the only ones who know. You must escape. The air outside here is clean... You can get out with the other four... And go.”
“And Keira...?”
“No... She is...”
CRASH! The door next to us broke in, and three men with assault rifles held them towards me. The other man jumped forward. “Char. Take them and GO!”
I ran again out of the room, and held my Beretta forward. The next room I entered had only one way out- The way I came in. And there was no where else to go but back. I was trapped... And that man couldn’t possibly hold those guards off forever. I started calling frantically for the others. And I turned back and saw on the bed there... Keira.
“KEIRA!?!” Immediatly I saw it. The pendant. It glistened in her hands... I could only wonder how it got fixed. She had a dark look in her eyes... And she suddenly blinked. I lost feeling in my legs, and walked towards her. I was being pulled by some force. I sat down next to her.
“Char.... You are mine.”
“I’m no one’s... Banana!!” I pulled up my arm to shoot her, but my arm went limp. I dropped the gun, and fell onto the bed. I suddenly felt that peaceful feeling again, and...
“CHAR! Wake up!”
This time, it was the man I met before. I opened my eyes to discover I was with Keira... I jumped up quickly, and tried to pull myself together. The man was livid- His eyes stared horridly at Keira. I was confused... But I felt a rage building inside me. Keira held a vial in her hand of a dark green liquid, which she slowly injected into my arm.
“Char... Now you hold the virus. So I hope you feel the pain I’ve felt for so long, and suffer just as I have. It is now time. End it here.”
“What the f*ck have you done to me! WHAT THE F*CK!” I grabbed the gun and shot her five times. She lay limp on the bed. Her stare turned gray... And I realized what I had done. Keira was .

Chapter 4- Guilty Conscience

I had never felt so sick in my life. The man had a satisfied look in his eyes. I dropped the Beretta. Keira was - By my own hand. The pendant in her hand had dropped onto the floor. I grabbed it, and pegged it out the door from which I came in.
“How could I have killed her?”
“Char. It was for the best. You must understand that... She was possessed by that pendant, which contained the new chemical. The chemical that killed all of Galliga... C-Virus. That pendant had leaked out that chemical just enough to get into her weakly... And overtake her soul.”
“How do you know all this? WHO ARE YOU!?!”
“Hahaha... I am Keira’s brother, Xander. I gave her that pendant... And she filled it with that chemical. And said she was using it for the good of mankind. I noticed her changing... All human life leaving her. So I took a small dose myself. A dose just large enough to enhance my physical performance, but not ruin any vital functions.”
“You have the C-Virus formula injected into yourself?”
“Yes. Char... The army is all slain. But their main weapon is still in this mansion. You must find the others. Go. I must stay here... And attend to my sister...”
I nodded, picked up the Beretta and walked out of the room. I couldn’t believe I ed Keira. A sickness came over me, and I blacked out.
Kyle stood with the others in the group, calling Char’s name. Kyle sighed. “God... There’s no use. It’s futile. He’s ... We are all going to die.” This was the first time Kyle ever doubted himself. It seemed strange to him... But there could be no hope in a situation like this. Kate and Jen paced around the room. Mike stood still. Finally, the silence ended.
“You know... Char could be alive.” The whole group turned around. It was Xander, the man whom only Char had known.
“Who the f*ck are you...” Kyle held a S&W pistol at the ready. He seemed to always have a gun when needed... Maybe that long coat of his had been home to some weapons.
“I am Xander. Also... Keira’s brother.” Jennifer’s face lost color immediatly. Keira had been her friend- When she found out from Kyle that Keira had been the killer, she had practically lost it.
“K-K-Keira... Brother?” Jennifer was shaking. Kate tried to hold her, but she broke loose. “Keira... THE ER!?!?!”
She screamed loudly. Kyle held his gun up to Xander still, and spoke. “So.... Your name is Xander... The wanted convict? The man who unleashed the C-Virus into the city?”
“Hm... It’s not what you think, young one.”
“Young one...? Ha.”
“You see... I didn’t spread any virus. However, I have the anti-virus... There was a hospital in Galliga... Precisely center. And an official inside knew the devastating force of the C-Type virus... And so-”
“No. I didn’t know the force of any virus... There was never a virus as you speak of it... It was a virus I found during a study on a woman’s body, known as the Camox Virus... The C-Virus, for short. I found that the C-Virus was a virus that would take contact, and send a killer force to the body, completly deactivating it. The body doesn’t die... It mutates. After exactly... Five days.”
“WHO ARE YOU!?!?” Kyle screamed, turning the gun to him. Then he stopped. He stared in awe, and almost dropped the gun. The man who spoke... Was Michael.
“Kyle. You seem so surprised. Yes, you had the killer among you the entire time.”
“So, you were the one then... The one who framed me for this incident. I saw this coming...” Xander jumped forward at him. Michael jumped back and pulled a gun from his pocket, and fired seven rounds in Xander’s chest. Xander dropped to the ground, clutching his stomach.
“Xander... You were so easy... So were the rest of you. By the way, the city and this mansion will be shot up in flames in exactly two days... You have no escape. Nothing is left. I will gladly watch from the skies as this mansion burns with the rest of Galliga... Hahah...”
“The rain will spread... It will come... And kill you, Michael...” Xander dropped on this last breath, and was . Michael kicked him aside, and laughed.
“The virus has been cleared from the air! Plus, I have the anti-virus!! I can’t lose!” Kyle stood up, and grabbed Xander’s body.
“Neither can we.” He grabbed three vials from Xander’s pocket, and saw the label. ‘Anti-Virus.’ He threw a bottle to Kate, and one to Jennifer. He drank his down, and watched the look on Michael’s face dim down a bit.
“Well... You still cannot escape Galliga alive. Don’t expect any rescue, because the only one getting out of here is ME!”
He ran towards a door nearby, opened it, and fell back, hitting the floor hard. The three looked towards the door and saw...
“CHAR!?!”
“Pony! straight Kyle.” I stepped out from the doorway, and looked down at Michael. “I heard the whole thing. So it was this... This b*tch... who did this... I’m not a very nice guy when I’m . And I’m .” I punched him again, and he began to bleed from his nose.
“Char, good thing you are alive. We have to get out of this town. C’mon! The main hall’s two rooms away!”
“No, I have buisness to attend to.”
“Leave him. We need all the time we can get... C’mon, now!”
“Fine... He can survive then.”
Kyle led us to the hall. He kicked the door down, and we looked outside. The vehicles were gone, like I had saw before. But the worst of it was... We felt rain. And in moments... I collapsed.
“Goddamn... I don’t feel that well.” And I noticed my color changing a bit gray. “Guys, I need to go back. The rain... It... Is spreading the virus...”
“So Xander was right. The rain has come.” Kyle spoke. They walked back towards the mansion. Kyle twisted the knob, and in his horror, he realized... “It’s locked... Guys... He locked us out!”
“What!?!” I dropped to one knee, and thought that I might have just spoken my last words. I suddenly lost air, and began breathing heavily. Kyle walked back from the door, and Jen and Kate stood by me. Kyle ran forward and kicked the door with all the force he had, knocking it in. Rain pounded down upon us, and we hurried to another room. Michael was gone, as was Xander’s body. We didn’t know if it had disappeared or if Michael had taken it. Either way, we had no other way to get an anti-virus. “Guys... Follow me.”
I lead them to the room I killed Keira, and stared in horror as I saw all the stains on the bed. It brought back the sickening memory. And then I screamed. As I looked up, there was a gray bodied woman with red eyes staring back at me. Her arms had all over, and her fingers were much longer than normal, and her fingernails were sharp as nails. Her legs were long and bony. Her dress was a satin dress of blue color, but red splotches showed . Her face had brown hair, and red eyes staring right down at me. It seemed Keira HAD come back to life... Through the power of the C-Virus.
“No way... It can’t be possible...” I thought those words, but I couldn’t speak. I was in awe. I still had those memories fresh in my mind. It had only been three hours ago that I had shot Keira to . Now, it seemed she had been reborn.
“Char.... I told you... It’s in you, the virus. It was in me... And now its in you...”
I refused to believe her. I couldn’t believe that I would soon become like her, a sick mutation of human life. Or in other words, an empty shell. Kyle and the s were confused, except Kyle held together. He aimed the gun at her, and held his aim steady.
“So Keira... You infected Char? How did you get the virus in the first place...?”
“I am Keira no more... I prefer to be called Carrie. The C-Virus codename... I had the virus from a few years back... When I helped develop it. Michael, however, was a teammate of mine in that work. He took the pendant given to me by Xander and injected a dosage of C into it. Then, I became more induced each day. I leaked false information to my brother, about a virus that drained out life from people and left their bodies . It was called Ebola... It is now not around anymore, well... It is VERY uncommon. He believed it, and injected himself with it, weakening his body down. And yes, I infected Char.
“Not if I can help it.” I aimed my Beretta at her, and unloaded a whole clip into her. It seemed as a switch effect, because as my last bullet hit her, Kyle’s shots echoed through the room next. I checked my pocket, and realized I had only three bullets left. I had to make these shots count. “Bye bye, Keira.”
“Why didn’t she put up a fight...?”
“Who knows. For now, it can’t matter. We don’t have time to figure it out, we have to evacuate.”
I shot one bullet straight through her chest, and another straight through her forehead. This time, she was REALLY . And I didn’t feel the littlest bit sick.

Chapter 5- The Mansion Escape

Kyle and I told the s to wait there. We ran through the halls, and looked room after room for a sign of Michael. But we found nothing. It seemed futile. Michael had escaped.... But we never gave up. While the s slept, we searched for an escape route, and for Michael. But after many hours of our search, we heard the sound of freedom. Helicopter blades whirling outside told us Michael hadn’t escaped, and that if we reached that copter, we were out of here. “Kyle, get onto that copter. Tell the pi wait for three more survivors. Make sure that if you see Michael... Kill him.”
“Char... I’ll get the s, you-”
“NO! If I die, it won’t matter... Plus, I want to find Michael. Or at least try... We have a score to settle. Did Michael mention a time on the ing...?”
“No... He never did. I remember, though... It won’t shoot off until survivors get out. They’re expecting Michael. Too bad they won’t get him.”
“Alright. Kyle, good luck. If I don’t come by two hours... Just go.” I knew that I was infected, and if I died, it would be no loss. I ran through the halls, and ally made a wrong turn, and ended up in a room I never saw before. I then saw things I didn’t want to- The bodies of Chris, Myra, Katlyn, and Xander. I then got hit with an idea. I reached in Xander’s pocket, and found an anti-virus. I popped the cap, and just as I was about to drink it...
BANG!
A shot fired out, and knocked the last remaining anti-virus to the floor, spilling it onto the rug. I looked over, and saw Michael laughing.
“Char... I’ll never let you live. You have done too much, seen too much... I could never let you escape this mansion, and tell the world. This is way too much of a problem.”
“You I'm so kool!. I’ll escape. You may have cleared my last way of getting rid of the virus... But I can still stop you. If I die... I’ll see you in HELL!”
“What!?! No!” He tried to escape. Immediatly, my reflexes got the better of me, and grabbed my Beretta. I fired the final shot and watched as it tore through the heart of Michael, and listened to his dying scream. I watched him writhe in pain on the ground, and ran out.
After almost an hour, I found the room. Upon entering, I found Kate laying on her back with three bullet holes in her chest. Jen lay unconcious. I felt tears forming in my eyes, and I brushed them away. I held Kate in my arms for a few minutes, and set her down. I woke Jen up, and she told me... “That, that I'm so kool!! He killed Kate, and when he realized his gun was empty, he choked me until I was knocked out! Oh my God, thank God you’re here!”
“I’m happiest that you of all people are getting out of here with me... I thought we’d all make it though.”
“No time for long goodbyes, though... C’mon Char. Please... I don’t want to have survived for nothing.”
“There’s a chopper out front. C’mon. Kyle’s waiting... He’s making sure the pilot doesn’t leave without us.”
We ran from the room, and quickly ran through the mansion hallways. I could only be thankful that this was over... I still felt sick about losing that last virus, though. That was my last chance. Finally, we were glad to escape the mansion doors, and enter the beautiful sunlight. The pilot looked out at us, and waved his hand in motion to get in. We hurried aboard, and sat down. The chopper immediatly started getting ready to take off.
“Welcome aboard. I’m Danny, and I’ll be your pilot... We have to get the hell out of here. I was ready to go... Lucky I’m your pilot, huh? Heh... This looks like... OH I can fly!!” He then said something under his breath, but all I could make out was the word ‘Whidder’.
We then watched out the window as the s got fired down... And all I could think of was the others...
The chopper was far away from Galliga, California, when I felt safe. I couldn’t help but wonder about the virus. I had lost my last chance. “Kyle... Lemme borrow your handgun.”
I walked towards the back of the chopper, and entered the room behind the pilot’s compartment. Right there, I aimed the gun at my head.
“Char. I’d never let you fire.”
“Kyle... You scared the sh*t outta me. And why can’t I fire... There’s no chance for me. There’s no anti-virus left. I’m gonna die. The virus will suck the life out of me, kill all my cells, and I’ll just drop one day. I might as well do it now, when I’ll be expecting it.”
“No. You’ll live.” He pulled a vial from his pocket, and it read ‘Anti-Virus.’ It was half full. I smiled, and took it. “You only need half a dose... I only drank half. So that you could get some. Take it. And give me the gun...”
“Thanks Kyle... But what about this... Can we tell anyone? We’re supposed to be ... And plus, who will believe us... What can we do?”
“We will keep it to ourselves. No one else will ever have to experience this again...” He pulled another vial from his pocket, and it was colored yellow. I guessed it was the virus. He quickly opened the chopper window and threw it outward. He closed it. Danny yelled back at us.
“Yo! You tryin to kill us!?!”
We all laughed, except Danny. It felt like only seconds, but an hour later we landed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This is where it all truly began... Now, it’s time to get back to reality...

Chapter 6- The Real Phenomenon

“Aim... Fire!”
The zombie collapsed to the ground as a shell blasted through its head. I laughed as I watched the creature fall at my feet... The alleyway was finally safe. With a long sigh, I walked on. It had been about two or three hours since Danny and I had split up. I wondered if he was ok... Same with Jennifer-- She had left before the outbreak hit this side of town. It was kind of scary, really, how it seemed that the viral problems in town had followed me... From Galliga, California! The other side of the country... All that way-- Was this the work of the same people? However, to me it seemed impossible. Michael was , and that brought about the virus’ end. But then again, could Michael really have developed such a bioweapon as the C-Virus? It all seemed so... bizarre.
“Fire in the hole!”
I ducked down as I heard the words and the bounce off the wall nearby. I ran towards the source-- Any human was better to be with than being alone in this hellhole.
“Hey you, lend me a hand!”
He was a black man, wearing a black vest over a white t and jeans. The vest was full of stock s, ammunition for his 9mm, and some healing supplies. He began firing the Colt he was carrying down at a group of zombies about a block down. This was a high measure group-- No less than fourteen zombies. The cleared maybe six or seven, but the rest continued heading in the same direction, completely unfazed.
“Name’s Char.”
“Mark! But do you really think this is the right time, goddamnit!? You got a piece?”
“Yeah, I have a SPAS12!”
“Then shoot mothaf*****, shoot!”
I began running towards the zombies and blasting shells from my gun. It seemed like a rush of hours passed, while it took only seconds for them all to fall to the ground. Mark walked up to me and held his hand out.
“You is one crazy kid, you know that...? Man I swear I’da never gone up to them things... You got my respect, and that is Pony! hard to earn.”
“I see. Well, in that case, we can go through this place together. These things are hard to deal with, and I bet that there’s worse out there.”
What I meant was worse situations-- More zombies in one spot. I never would have expected different forms of the monsters. I wouldn’t have ever began to think that this virus was all this important, anyway. But with the destruction in this little amount of time... I was afraid what would have happened if not for the torching in Galliga.
“So you’s a white kid carryin’ a shotgun and givin up shots like that... Pony!. That’s nuts.”
“You still going on about my ? It comes pretty natural. I was in a situation somewhat like this, and I had a handgun. I’m probably better off carrying a Beretta 92FS... I know everything about them. Call it an instinct, or just really god practice.”
“I see. Well look, it’s time to get serious. I’m Mark Sears, a member of the Philly Police Department. We got word of this after a phone call about a cannibalistic attack. Five minutes later, calls came in from this area like wildfire! It is all one big mess... These things seem like they’re multiplyin! It started with one case... And has become what might be the greatest disaster of all time. No one’s safe around here. They might even have to lock off town... You understand the caliber of a disaster we’re dealing with!?”
“Lock off town... You mean they’re going to leave the rest of us survivors to die in here!? You can’t be right...”
“But I am. They hold too much power, and an army backs them... They are the Next-Generation company.... You see, a few years ago, there was an incident like this, one that the media covered up. Everyone believed it. I knew it was fake only because I happened to be working in the president’s guard that day... They came in, and were shot on the spot-- The ones who invented T.”
“T?”
“T-Virus. The weapon that started it all. You see, the virus that escaped here is called the C-Virus, a weapon much enhancing the values of T. T-Virus took effect creating zombies with basically no intelligence. C-Virus is made to have that function, but with each passing second, it begins to reform. The cells are reborn, and ressurected inside the mind. I’d say that for a lifetime of two weeks for these things, they could write a book. But the problem is... They have the thirst, the intent to kill... That is their prime purpose. It is all for the Next-Generation’s bioweapon research. But once a group of rebels got hands on it... It turned into a crisis. Or so I heard, anyway. The last bit of info I got was this: The group had seven men, and the seven were planning to scatter the virus... Meaning that seven areas would be under infection.”
“No... That can’t be true.”
“Yeah, it sucks doesn’t it?”
“Sounds like something straight out of a horror movie. I would never expect a reality like this... And you say they’ve got some cover-up!? I don’t understand how that is possible... Damnit.”
“Well, we can’t do anything except get out of here in time. So get your white Weee!!! ready to shoot and run...”
“Man... I can’t even laugh right now.”
“We’ll get through this town, just as long as the final exit isn’t sealed off. There’s one exit left that the people don’t know about. The sewer system leads through a building out south of here. We take the secret passage through the police precinct and get into the sewers... We’re home free.”
“Man, this is reality. I guess I have to realize and accept that. So let’s go, and no turning back.”
“Well, we might not have a choice. There’s one bioweapon monster that was mutated with massive amounts of the C-Virus. Codenamed Carrie, it is a giant monster that is so far invincible. The only invincible creature that has ever lived... With the virus splicing out any cells causing pain, weakness, tiredness... The parasite in the virus was built with the intelligence to know what cells to destroy, and what not too. Problem is, for some people they need those things to survive. But one person, Carrie, was able to transform fully. There was another guy named Xander Cross... He was said to have survived partial mutation.”
“Carrie... Carrie... I’ve heard of it.”
Slowly, my mind went into twists and turns through the past. ‘I am Keira no more... I prefer to be called Carrie.’ Those words suddenly went past me, but I stayed silent. I couldn’t bear to mention the horrific events of that mansion all over again.
“You sure it wasn’t just another horror movie?”
“Yeah, I’m pretty sure. Pretty sure.”

The town seemed to tower over everything else, but one man stood atop a high building. He laughed as he watched a group of about 15 men become fodder for a massive zombie group... With a swift grin on his face, he snapped his fingers and turned around. Screams echoed through the silent night... You could almost hear the silence, all but those screams and the occasional zombie.
Twenty hours had passed since this had began... And it was still ONLY the beginning. All seemed to be... At peace.

Chapter 7- The Police Department Doors

“You sure, Mark...? This place is huge.”
“Look, I know this town like it was my hometown, ok? Lemme navigate and I’ll save your Weee!!!. C’mon, open the door.”
I slowly twisted the knob, and the FCPD became visible. The hall was elegant, with a large statue in the middle. There were three different doors in that hall, or lobby area, and a front desk. I walked up to the desk and grabbed a gun that lay left there, with a stained note. It was short, to the point, and mentioned a monster that was impervious to bullets. I shoved it in my pocket without alarming Mark-- He would get all worked up about it.
“What are you doing, anyway...?”
“Oh... I, uh, found a gun. It has a name on the handle-- Josh Borden. He a member of this precinct?”
“Yeah, he’s a good friend of mine. Probly going to have to give him a bullet, now... Look, I just wanna warn you, kid.”
“Hey, don’t even call me a--”
“Kid, you better not be hesistant on that trigger finger. If you meet a friend or loved one... And their... You know. You better not pull out a stop on me, cuz I ain’t gonna deal with that. You get soft, you get shot too. I ain’t gonna Corn!, and I ain’t gonna die. So you better understand that.”
He dropped an empty clip from his gun, placed a new one in, and ed it back.
“Ready to roll...?”
“Yeah, I guess so.”
We slowly walked towards the first door, and went inside. There was two groups of zombies standing inside. Mark threw a into the cluster and watched as the explosion sent them all up in flames. He laughed as they fell.
“These ones are all in their first stages of development. They have no intelligence, whatsoever. The outbreak occured... Twenty hours ago. We got about two days to get out of here before they get any smarter, or so I’d guess.”
“You know so much about this virus...? Why?”
“When you work in the White House, you learn a lot that many others aren’t suppsoed to know. C’mon, let’s head through this room...”
The next room was a complete mess of papers, files, and chairs everywhere. Three desks were a mess, yet one seemed fine. A man was turned around in his chair behind that desk. An arm was the only visible sign, and in the hand was a coffee mug. Mark ran up.
“Simmons, thank God!”
The chair turned and the mug dropped with a smash. The creature in the chair lunged at Mark and took a giant chunk of flesh from his neck. Mark yelled out in pain and threw the zombie off, and proceeded to fire his handgun into the head. Mark collapsed into a corner, holding his wound, while the monster headed towards me. I pulled the SPAS from my back and looked around me. Then, pulling the trigger, I sent a giant shell through the zombie’s head, literally splashing everywhere and exploding inside the head.
“Mark! Goddamnit, you ok!?”
“Oh man... Simmons... My best comrade gave the virus to me. I guess... I guess it’s for the best. I’m gonna need to go before I get infected. I’ll try to get you as far as I can. Char...”
“Yeah?”
“At the first sign of infection... You know what to do. I don’t want to become one of those godforsaken creatures... Please, put me to rest at the first sign of change--”
“No, there’s a cure. We’re getting you that cure, goddamnit! I survived seven hours with that virus inside my body, and I got cured. You can get a sample of the cure!”
“No, no... The cure’s gone.”
“No, actually, I have it.”
The voice of Danny was heard through the doorway. His eyes were red, and he looked like he was going to be sick. The palest I ever had seen was the color of his skin, and his dilated pupils of red color were piercing through me. He wasn’t Danny any longer.
“What is wrong with you Danny...?!”
“Char... He’s got... The virus, he’s... Remember what I said about them being smart!? Fire, you son of a Banana!!”
I pulled the SPAS from my back and aimed out. Danny looked at me with surprise.
“I saved you from the depths of hell. This is your repayment...!? You plan to isolate me from this world with a shotgun? How pitiful. Too bad that I simply won’t allow it.”
“You what!?”
He ran at me with full speed and punched me in the jaw. I fell to the floor nearby Mark, and grabbed Borden’s handgun. I aimed quickly and shot Danny’s left leg out. He fell to his right knee, and I kicked him in the face, bending back and breaking his neck completely. I looked back at Mark, who was clutching his neck. With a turn back to Danny, I closed my eyes, aimed for his head, and...
Bang.

Chapter 8- Meeting the First C-Virus Creation

“Nice shot... Arrggh...”
It was only a few minutes after the shot that I was able to speak.
“Y-yeah. I guess so.”
“I’ll be... Fine man. Trust me, I ain’t gonna turn on you without telling you. I know what these... Things are like.”
“Chill Mark. You can barely talk... I’m leaving you here, where you’re safe. Meanwhile, I’ll search for any survivors. It seems like there have to be some--”
“Don’t forget, Char. These things are... Different. They can become smarter than ever normal humans. You must remember... The way to tell the difference between a human and a C-Virus carrier is... Their... Neck...”
He slouched over and fainted. I looked down at him and held my gun up. I’d have to shoot him later on-- I didn’t want to have to do it while he was a zombie, yet something stopped me. I couldn’t shoot him yet. He knew too much for just a cop...

“Yeah, this is Kyle. Do you copy? Do you copy!? Goddamnit, the radio’s not working. I’m not getting a signal. Chief, what should we do?”
The chief of police looked at Kyle with a frown.
“Think of something. We need backup, and fast. With only the small amount of rations and ammo we have, and our numbers dwindling by the second, we aren’t going to survive this hellhole...”
“Alright, I’m going to check in on the area over to the northwest.”
“Kyle... I may not have known you long, but you’re my best shot. If you go down out there, I fear for our safety... Oh, and take this. It’s a radio battery, just in case you need it. If you meet anything... Stronger than those zombies... Call in immediatly.”
“Chief, stay alive. I’m gonna find some ammunition, and some survivors... And hopefully, a friend.”

“Eat this!”
I fired a shell through the head of a zombie, decapitating it completely. I ran forward aggressively, holding my SPAS12 up tightly. I opened a door slowly and saw another office, deserted. I walked forward to grab the radio on a nearby desk, and to my surprise, it was beeping. I pressed the button.
“This is... Las Vegas... Chief McDonald... Copy... Copy...”
“Yeah!? What happened!?”
“M-monsters... Cannibalistic... Walking ! ARRRGHHH!”
“NO! NO DON’T DIE! WHAT HAPPENED!?!?”
I threw the radio against the wall in my anger, and looked down on the ground where it landed. A paper lay under the wreckage, and my curiousity took the better of me. I grabbed the page and skimmed my eyes over it.
‘This is the research we’ve uncovered over the Next-Generation branch of the U.S. They hold a... Secret weapon, besides these monsters. If anyone gets this-- They should make haste. There’s the crisis outside, and the monster still alive is one that is a walking warrior... You must understand the power of this monster-- It isn’t phased by normal ammunition. Please, you are warned... Sorry to you all... From Mark.’
“He... Never told me about a walking--”
Then window behind me shattered in a blast of roaring fury, but nothing compared to the creature that stepped through it. A giant human shaped monster, decked out in a black overcoat... The monster’s right eye was stitched shut, and the left was shot and white-pupiled. It roared out in fury and grabbed me by the neck, and tossed me across the room. I pulled my SPAS up, and fired. It... Laughed at me, before mearly smacking the shell from the air. I was astonished at the bad luck I was faced with... With the last bit of strength I had, I stumbled forward and charged at him. He stood still, and didn’t expect me to slide under him and flip out the wide gap he had left upon entrance. I sprinted at my fastest speed down the long hallway, and chose the first door I saw to enter.

“Damnit, I can’t find anyone... This is hopeless.”
“Or is it?! You can help me!”
Kyle spun around to see a woman crawling backwards away from a giant lizardlike creature. It had green scales all around it, and was sporting two giant and gruesome claws for hands. The face was one of white eyes, and a large mouth of many sharp fangs... Covered in .
“Got it... Stay calm, man, and don’t alert it to my presence.”
Kyle ran forward, rolled left, and pulled a handgun from his pocket in mid-roll. He fired four rounds into the lizard’s head, and grabbed the woman from danger.
“Get out of my way... I owe this guy a few rounds for the all over him. He’s killed some.”
Kyle placed a new clip into the handgun, ed it back and aimed forward... The lizard jumped forward, claws out, in a rapid speed... And Kyle quickly placed 12 rounds directly through the face, knocking it out of the air. Kyle blew the smoke from his gun’s barrel, and laughed.
“I’m Kyle, and I’ll be your savior tonight.”

Chapter 9- Another Story Behind The Incident...

“Cold. Cold it is, isn’t it...? I’ve hated winter all my life, and that won’t change. You listening, Maria? Galliga was never a place to be cold. The climate usually stayed above 50 all year round. But on the occasions that it got cold, I would stay inside. Oh Maria, you don’t know how I feel... The snow, it is... A poison to me. And now, now we are covered in it. You know, I’ve heard that if it snows in Galliga, bad things will happen.”
“Oh Johnny... You worry way too much. You’re such a California guy-- Always afraid of cool weather. Typical, but I guess I understand. Snow’s pretty cool, and when I was younger, I loved it... Free pass out of school back then. Now, it is a rarity. You are right about Galliga, but in Ohio, it snows a lot.”
“I could never live there.”
“You know... It’s October 24th. The day before my birthday! You could take me out if you’d like... Johnny... Don’t worry, we could go somewhere nice and warm.”

October 24th wasn’t only the day before Maria’s birthday, but the day before the collapse of Galliga. The day before the virus escaped. You see, Johnny Wyzler wasn’t just a young nobody who hated snow, and was superstitious... He was the man who knew the story the most. Let’s go back in time... And understand. This is the journal of Johnny Wyzler.

October 21st- Realization
The newest part of the job is the hardest. Discovery of a key factor in terms of biological weapons, usable for the Next-Gen company. I was assigned that job along with six others. It was all new to me then, that strange morning. It’s a good thing I catch on fast, otherwise the Carrie prototype would have become as effective as it is. I developed it all that day, the cold day in August. They all called me foolish, stupid, weakminded... I proved them all wrong, and made sure that they were my next test subjects. The boss, Xander Cross, had no care whatsoever to the fact that I was using these people as my soldiers for the Carrie Virus. He actually seemed to... Enjoy it. See their faces, their expressions... They weren’t there long enough to see the truth. It was over too fast-- They were products of my weapon before they could even realize.

October 22nd- Facing the Boss
A leak in sector 19 forced my unit to move to another lab complex... Somehow, I feel that it was intentional, for this unit’s walls are supposedly covered with biohazard-blocking material. It was not a big deal, but I couldn’t help but become a bit nervous.
Over in the new labs, I met a beautiful , named Maria. I immediatly fell in love, and her feelings towards me were mutual. I left work early that day, and didn’t do too much work on the Carrie Prototype... I heard from others that Mr. Cross wasn’t pleased, but I was too absorbed in my visions of Maria to care. She was too lovely, too perfect to even stop thinking about.
We were spending time together, kissing and such, when my phone rang. Xander, the boss, had called me in for an urgent message. I couldn’t tell him no, so I bid Maria a farewell and hurried out the door. As I arrived at the doorway to the labs, Xander grabbed me by the neck. I barely survived, for his grasp strangled the air from my lungs. He dropped me and cursed my foolishness, for someone had stolen seven of my eight prototypes for the Carrie Virus. He cursed me out and held a gun to my head, threatening my life if this Carrie Virus, the last remaining capsule, wasn’t perfect. I nodded with my last bits of strength and fell slowly unconcious. When I awoke, I was here, on the desk I’m writing this from. Strange, yet not too far from what I would’ve expected...

October 23rd- Carrie’s Finale
Xander was quite pleased the next morning when we met. He showed me a picture of a living in Galliga, his sister. Her name was Keira Cross, and she held a pendant that seemed to show the same traces that the Carrie Virus showed on our viral scanner. Xander brought her into the lab and knocked her unconcious, then instructed me to inject the contents of the pendant into her heart. The project failed, and Keira was diagnosed by the team of doctors in our lab. Xander didn’t even show any signs of regret, only more hatred towards me for my failure at making a bioweapon. I was beginning to fear for my well-being in this place, so I went home to Maria.
After about an hour’s rest, and late into the night, my phone rang again. Xander’s horrified voice came through, although within his horror I heard some... Other emotion. With a horror and almost pleasure in his voice, he said to me two words that made my heart sink. She’s alive.

October 24th- Sickness
I feel amazingly sick... I didn’t go to work today due to the snow, and because of a sickness I think is the flu... The pain in my head grows, and I’m quite angered that I can’t take her out for her birthday tomorrow. She... She is... The only care I have left. Yes, I love you Carrie... Soon we’ll be together forever... Forever.

PART III- Unknown Chapters...

“I’ll be your savior tonight.”
“Oh my God, I don’t know what I would’ve... I mean... I... I don’t believe how lucky I am to have seen you. You saved my life, and I’m... In your debt forever...”
“Look, we still have to survive this town. Can you use a piece? Oh yeah, and I’ll need to know your name, too.”
“I’m Alicia, and yeah, if you have a gun, I’ll take it. I’ve never shot one before, but I need some way to be able to protect myself. It’s too risky out there without a weapon... And with a gun, I can stand a chance against these guys... Thank you so much Kyle.”
“Don’t worry, Alicia. Here, this is a .45 caliber handgun, a Mark 23 SOCOM pistol. It’s got some heavy firepower, but a pretty strong recoil, so you have to watch out... I hope you’re at least somewhat strong, because that’s the best protection you can get from a handgun.”
“I can handle it. Now, where do we go to get the hell out of here?”
“Hmmm... I have to call the police chief, gimme a minute.”
He fished through his jacket and grabbed the radio. After dialing the frequency for the chief, he called in.
“Chief, it’s Kyle. How are you making out over there...?”
“Just fine, Kyle. We’ve secured Rhawn and the Boulevard, but you know how ly it is when an infected wakes up... I’ve lost three more to a surprise attack from Borden-- He just... Attacked. Kyle, you find any survivors?”
“Yeah, I met a named Alicia, and a new type of monster. It’s a giant lizard-like creature, with giant claws and sharp fangs as it’s first weapons. I’m not sure how I survived the attack, but I did. If we ever find a group of those things, I think we’ll be in trouble-- I had trouble with just one. Well chief, I’m on my way back to the squad. Stay well...”
“Wait a second Kyle... Oh my... KYLE! STAY CLEAR FROM THE AREA!”
“What!? Chief!?”
“KYLE... They... THEY’RE COMING ALIVE! STAY ALIVE KYLE, AND...”
He barely uttered his final words before the scream, in the lowest screeching whisper.
“Give them hell.”

The breathing of the ‘walking warrior’ was heard even from behind the doorway. I was standing inside a small closet, holding my SPAS at the door... If that door opened, I was ready to surprise the monster with a shell through its chest. The breathing slowly ceased, and I waited for at least another half hour before slowly opening the doorway. The desolate hallway view let me sigh with relief... I had escaped with my life, but with this new information, I had to ask Mark something... I had to know. And then... Everything hit me. I knew why he knew everything, and he was the one who told me. Now, to get the proof I needed... I’d need to see his neck.
