Setting:

During this time, fossil fuels (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fossil_fuels) became exhausted and the distribution of fuels became imbalanced. Humanity must rely on three large-scale solar power systems that are in the hands of the three major powers on the planet: The Union of Solar Energy and Free Nations (ユニオン in katakana; based on the United States Of America (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Of_America)), The Human Reform League (人類革新連盟 in kanji; comprised of China (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/China), Russia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russia) and India (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/India)) and Europe's (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Europe) Advanced European Union (based on the European Union (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Union)). Looks promising. I liked Seed and Destiny, but sometimes they were real train wrecks. In a good way, but still, train wrecks. I'm going into 00 with an open mind (do not let the mistakes of the past effect the future generations) and no real expections so I can fully enjoy it.

The last "trailer" was awesome, loved Setsuna in front of the "big Phoenix" Gundam and the animation looks good. I know GSD broke my heart (and Dice-chan's heart at the same time) but I have good hopes for this one.

I agree Destiny was pure fail, and as Maelle-sensei said, it broke our hearts by butchering most characters, and making Kira "hax" Yamato immortal and flawless.

However, I still like Kira despite his perfection and plotkai. Maybe I have too many fond memories of the original Seed Kira who I loved.

Hopefully Setsuna will be a worthy hero, Shinn certainly failed to be anything more than a tool. :cry :cry

I really liked the opening episode. The animation was beautiful and I love the character designs. I also like the fact that since it's not too far in the future from present day, the technology isn't so advanced to have tons of spaceships and space battles. So as Eurys said, it's not too flashy, and it looks like most of the confict and battles are going to occur on Earth.

The first ep looked like a good setup for things to get started. It was rather confusing, if you try to look at the whole picture from the get go, but if you kept if simple, it all worked quite nicely.

I know Fate Stay/Night had German spells. I love the Engrish though, its just the funniest thing to listen to, they have such difficulty getting their Japanese tongues around the English language.

The guy, Allelujah Haptism! What the hell is that! Its like hallelujah, which is so not a name, its meant to mean "praise the lord" or something like that. Then haptism is baptism, being dunked in water for religious reasons. So "praise the lord dunked in water for religious reasons" as a name is so insanely stupid ><! Does anyone else get annoyed when seeing how lame and meaningless that name is?

They aren't even objects or something, like you could call someone Cup or Paperclip, but to call them by an interjection and an act. Might as well call him Yay Running.

I know that we are only six episodes into the show but I actually find the Gundam Meisters (terrible name) to be rather bland especially Setsuna, maybe I'm supposed to feel this way, I don't know. I'm sorry if this next statement offends anyone but I hate the Tieria guy, I have no problems with having effeminate looking guys, but I do have a problem with putting a stern tightass character type in a freakin pink sweater vest, I mean there had to be some other character model out there that they could have used, I cringe when I see because I don't think it represents his character. Lockon is the only meister that makes me excited to see him in action, I do wonder what some of these creators were thinking in regards to names, I mean Allelujah Haptism? Lockon Stratos for the sniper character, and why does Setsuna have to add the F. to his name everytime he says it, I dont use my middle initial when I introduce myself, so why does he? I hope maybe this is explained because it just seems unnecessary, it doesn't downgrades the show but it kinda of irks me whenever I hear it.

I actually like the other pilots more, especially that guy Graham who pilots the customized Flag mobile suit. I like the context of the show right now but I am worried that it will become a show where the secondary characters seem to always outshine the main characters in terms of awesomeness. Overall I feel that 6 episodes in the potential for a great gundam is still there as long as they don't start giving god like modes to any of the characters like in Seed.

oh c'mon, dude, Meister sounds much, much, much better than the other versions of the word... and besides, Gundam Master would sound extremely lame, IMO. :D

I somewhat agree, but methinks Lockon is win and that Setsuna is..."meh". Allelujah is "okay" and I don't like Tieria at all.... But IMO the only interesting character outside the pilots would be Graham and the "Scarface" (dunno his name).

I think the "F" is just for the "Kewl" effect... which doesn't seem to appeal to you that much but I find it ok.

What bothers me is that sometimes the art is a little dissapointing (the characters I mean). And methinks that so far, too much political talk and not enough fighting... Characters, storyline and stuff are important, but for about 25 minutes of a mecha anime I'd personally like to see more than 2-3 minutes of mecha action. >__>;

I love Gundam in general, but I'm especially enjoying Gundam 00. Since I am a serial 4chan lurker, I know a lot of future plot elements from JP spoilers and I have to say I'm really looking forward to the next arc of episodes.

My fave characters so far are Tieria, Sumeragi and Setsuna, with Lockon and Graham as close seconds. Tieria... <3 <3 <3

The designs of the new Throne Gundams are also hot as hell. I love Virtue and Exia's mech designs. Kyrios and Dynames are kind of o__O; to me but they're cool too.

I got to say my fav chars are Ali , Graham, Allelujah, Sumeragi , and Wang Lui Mei, but i generally like all the chars in gundam so far.

Here is the ep preview summaries for the next coming chs:Ep15 – 4 current CB got themselves into some tough situation and getting frustrated.
Ep16 – the UN representative guy whatever his name is… couldn’t stand it anymore so he started using the other 3 CB, which are the gundam thrones.
Ep17 – Miss Sumi asked those 3 to come onto their ship to have a meeting cause she is confused about their existence.
Ep18 – Trinity thinks the 4 are too passive and the 4 disagree with trinity’s actions, and Liumei starts an investigation on the trinity.

nena is officely the girl i most hate for her massacuring the levy family.
and i really think its cool they actually using real countries (is ORB japan or what?) and real conflicts but it make me happy they didnt attacked my own country and in this show i really love the non gundam units, they have a good feel and i love to see them smash gundams around.

I always hated that pink gundam as well, terrible idea by the writers, it's just like how every girl in shonen series somehow always seems to face off against other girls.

Overall I am beginning to really like this Gundam, I like the fact that a lot of the other pilots are actually in some ways superior to our Gundam pilots, but they are just overpowered. The only thing that I don't like is that Setsuna and the other Gundam pilots still haven't gotten me to actually like them, overall there aren't many characters that I really like, Graham though is awesome, but he'll probably die before this season ends. Good series which I will certainly follow until the end.

i watched the latest episode, 23, and i actually found myself cheering when one of the gundams was destroyed (and its about time!) the 3 superpowers made an alliance so its seems to me that the celestial beings done their part and can die now.
i actually like that CB arent really lovable, in the end they are kinda terrorists so why should any1 love them? ill be very happy if more gundams would be shot down as the series progress.

It's weird, this is one of those shows where I find myself rooting for the "enemy" time after time, I even root for the Ali al-Sashes guy. I'm certainly always rooting for the superpowers. I think the fact that these other pilots are so much better than the Gundam pilots but they just are overpowered gets to me. For instance Graham would absolutely destroy any of the Gundam if he had a Mobile Suit that match theirs. Overall I think I would appreciate some more engaging main characters, but I'm still liking the series overall.

Those videos are a great example of how Gundam is more exciting when it doesn't focus on overpowered units with hax powers destroying everything in their path. When Graham took out that throne, I actually stood up and gasp, just because of how cool he seemed, completely destroying a gundam with a flag fighter, which I actually find to be the coolest of the mobile suits.

I'm just glad this Gundam hasn't turned into a teenage drama like Seed did, hopefully Saji doesn't pull us into some sort of emo trap, or becomes a Shinn like character, I don't think he will based on how the writers seem to want to focus on politics and action instead of dramatics.

i really love the gn-x units i am really annoyed that most of them are destroyed by episode 23 with only few gundams destroyed. their circular formation against the thornes in africa was simply majestic.

as for Ali, i hate him, the bastad killed saji sister and i still dont understand why, not to mention he is the most weird mercenery ever, why any1 trust him? he was the leader of a terrorist org that used children who killed their parents! i wonder if he is dead or not...i guess ill know in the next episode.

He's a good villain, he's someone that you can hate as a human being, but still be very entertained by his style. He's has a nice cocky attitude that is backed up by a lot of skill. I still don't know if I'm going to like Corner or Ribbons or Libbons or however it's spelled.

Official info for season 2 of Gundam 00 just started to leak out. Note: Source pics weren't the most legible so these are subject to correction. Thanks to 2ch posters, who also puzzled out what they could.

Characters:
Setsuna F. Seiei - 21-years-old. Lived as a boy soldier in his native Kurdish and became a Gundam Meister with Celestial Being. Engaged in one-on-one combat with Graham in a final battle. Went missing. 4 years after, what does he think of as he looks at the world without conflict the Earth Sphere Federation ushered in?

Lockon Stratos - 29-years-old. Expert marksman and Gundam Meister affiliated with Celestial Being. 4 years ago, he and his bitter enemy Saachez shot each other simultaneously and (*unreadable portion*) This Lockon (*unreadable*) heads to the battlefield together with his partner Haro and, as a Gundam Meister, pilots the Keldim Gundam.

Allelujah Haptism - 24-years-old.

Tieria Erde - Age unknown. Seriously injured in the decisive final battle in which he flew the Gundam Nadleeh but he was rescued by an organization and his life saved. Afterwards, he did his best to rebuild Celestial Being. Previously, he had thought of Veda as an absolute being but now he looks for the meaning of his personal struggle.

Mecha (definitely iffy on the names here):
GN-0000 00 Gundam - New generation Gundam developed as a successor unit to the Gundam Exia. A formidable mecha equipped with 2 GN Drives on its shoulders, it boasts astounding GN particle emission and its performance overwhelms that of all other mobile suits. Pilot: Setsuna F. Seiei

Arios Gundam

Selavii Gundam - A heavy armament model piloted by Tieria Erde that largely carries over features of the Gundam Virtue. Furthermore, it was developed with the intent of strengthening offense and while the 2 shoulder-equipped GN cannons are simple in form, their firepower far exceeds the Virtue's.

Info from Kouryaku No Yakata's Newtype summaries:

- The second season will revolve around an independent security enforcement organization within the Federation called "Arrows" that suppresses anti-Federation elements.

- Setsuna will take on a leadership role.

- Most people aren't aware of the severe oppression of Arrows due to the Federation's complete control of information.

- Lockon died and isn't coming back.

- The show will air in MBS' Sunday 5 pm timeslot starting in October.

A new Gundam 00 commercial aired today and it’s got a lot of juicy bits - much more than the first commercial. Among other things, it looks like Wang Liu Mei grew up (her new haircut makes her look kind of evil), Saji’s going to be getting a bigger piece of the action, Louise is going to become a pilot, Allelujah is restrained insane-asylum style, and the Ptolemaios is back (or at least a variation of it).

Yeah they introduced him in episode 8 or 9 i don't remember, I only remember it was and the cemetery and the brother was behind the tree or something. And yeah they should have let a different character pilot the new suit.
