Such a sweet episode...I think its really nice that they managed to fit that one chapter into just one episode, so that it ended with her saying goodbye...

AND they managed to do it without 6 minutes of "last episode recap", which I thought they'd HAVE to do ^^; I'm glad they got around it...

Is it just me or was it really sad when Inoue grabbed Ichigo's hand and the music kicked in?

Man, I love Orihime and all, but...this episode was SO slow! I also don't see why they had to add all these other little scenes in, but...whatever.

I thought the episode was beautiful, artistically and emotionally. And Orihime never looked so good.

Studio Pierrot really outdid themselves with this episode. *bows to SP*

For dramatic effect.

Its great that it ended with her saying goodbye IMO. Maybe it was slow, but it was nice, because it was trying to be a rather emotional goodbye...I personally think it achieved it.

(shame there wasn't an Arrankaru Daihyaka in that link XD)

it was a good ep..but they did throw extra crap in it lol
but overall the flashbacks where good and made the ep decent from one manga chapter =]

It's not the first time; even I know this (Renji the star and the stray dog and Ikkaku's flashback got the same treatment).
I wonder why they decided to go with one episode centered around a chapter that bored so many people in the Japanese fandom XD

loved the ep :nuts the quality was above par and details in the animation were very well done compared to recent ones imo. kudos to studio pierrot for that:D
the extra scenes too i think were a good buildup in setting up the feeling of sadness and finality that comes with the last scene in the episode... heck, it made me :cry a little *sigh*:D

that was an amazing episode..

it captured the emotion perfectly, the climax and everything..

The ep was ok, everything was captured nicely....and not to mention that they made the same large nose :eek: I thought that they'll spare us this but I guess not. I couldn't stop laughing at the scene, I know that to some people it's dramatic and all but for me...it was funny. :rotflmao

Episode startet out weak with a few stuff i disliked, gradually the episode got better.
For the pace it's clearly one of the best episodes ever made into the anime. Had the dark colors i like and the animation was optimal.
If only they could get rid of the filler characters or better have this kind or better animation and pace for the rest of the show, Bleach anime would return to beeing a high point of the week.

I'm glad with this 1 ep = 1 chap. I hope it continues otherwise we'll be subjected to more strange fillers.

Right now manga is 55 chapters ahead. That's more than a year's worth of episodes.

And I agree. This episode was stunning and it nicely appeased the Orihime fans who were all "WTF what about Tatsuki!?" when 237 came out. This answered that. She DID go to her, just didn't say farewell.

Lol. That was just random luck. :D Any episode can be extended with filler and plenty have. I just meant only using the chapter material and it being less then 2. It's only happened 3 times ever, not including episode 1. And two of those times were filler pakced flashbacks, so actually only once ever. No surprise there is more filler again here.

I love how this episode had filler material, but not filler material that affects the plot or anything, they need to do this more so they don't use up 3 chapters an episode again

Nah, please not. It's okay here and there, but you can't make Bleach eps with only 1 chapter content. Bleach has the least dialogues of all Shounens. 1 Chap are 5 phrases. 2xtimes Kurosaki-kun from Inoue and the other 3 are random comments like "Kuso" or "Kisama"

I don't mean just 1 chapter an episode, but it seems like the anime uses up so many chapters an episode and tends to leave a few small details out.

I just feel that if its important enough to be put in the manga it should be in the anime and not get rushed past or skipped.

There are certainly plenty of instances where they could have went more into detail during certain scenes and not made it feel dragged out. All in all though, most of these mix type episodes turn out pretty good. I think they should this more often, but not toooo much like Gintoki said. I don't think we are even close to that point.

I was kinda annoyed at the use of filler parts, but I can understand it was needed for the entire ep to be complete. REALLY emotional Ep, and done really well. Can't wait for the next.

I really liked it. The animation was really well done, they've definitely put the best animators for it. I even liked the pace, it was needed to set up the emotional impact that is important to the coming arc.

I kinda like the small talk between isshin and rukia, definitely a small filler but still interesting

She bumps into him after washing dishes, she's surprised when he decides to talk to her in semi serious tone and Isshin asks how his son is doing, he says something about him being in a fight with some guys at school (this is where i love the fact he's so oblivious when he knows the truth) Rukia say's its her fault he got into that , he says that he's glad Rukia is alright, and tells her to stay warm or something while going out at night...

anyways, the thing about tatsuki, they didnt show her goin to her in the manga, but this makes her seem more concernd for her then the manga..interesting to see the little fillers in there

I wondered how they were going to drag out one chapter in one episode, and now I know! XDD

The animation blew me away, hands down. Not one single person looked bad/messed up at all in this episode, and though it was slow paced, it was appropriate for the episode^^

I just started the DB download. I look forward to it, it sounds good.

I'm sure KT requested to the animators that this episode get special attention:love:love:love

great episode. good use of filler too, and I'm always in favor of only tearing through one chapter of manga in an ep. my only complaint was that it didn't hit me nearly as hard emotionally as the manga did in this chapter, but i guess that's because i knew what was coming this time around

^ I kind of liked the nonsequitur dialogue in the previews, though. But upping the tension makes sense - especially with the cogs turning as they are now.

@ Vaizado - That screen, and the final shot with married!Ikkaku! are both so full of win. :D

I was expecting this ep to be poignant, but it was more tragic and depressing than I thought. I'd have given 'Hime a hug if I could...

They are showing "previews" for the next bleach movie instead, for the time being at least. The next ep previews should be back soon. I'm going to take a wild guess at about ep 143. :cool:

Anime in general just has that ability to do that, when manga can not, especially when it's done superbly, like this episode.

Nice use of filler in this ep. All of it felt right on. Nice use of preview episode material also. I would not mind more of either if it cuts down on chapter usage, as long as it remains good.

Speaking of remaining good, lets hope the animation doesn't decide to take a nose dive in the upcoming episodes.

I am still wishing Cosmo Town is bleach's ending. :D

This episode is really good. I mean, really, really good. And this comes from a someone who's more often than not peeved in one way or another with the anime. (Hey, there's a reason I compiled that Manga-Anime Difference list in the first place.)

The colours are IMO more beautiful than any episode ever, and the art looks as if Kubo himself drew it. Glad they pull in the A team of animators this week. The filler bits doesn't distract from the mood; their presence is enough to supplement and decorate canon without adding anything OOC. There are some moments that I can't take as seriously as in the manga like the tears on Ichigo's face scene, but that's the fault of capslock_bleach on livejournal.

Matsuoka Yuki is love in this episode. I normally think her voice is too high to be Orihime, at times too childish, but she's good here. If she wants to send an episode for seiyuu award consideration, this is the one she has to send. And speaking of seiyuu, Namikawa Daisuke. Is. Hot. If I were Orihime, "yes" would certainly be the word because I'd've lost all other vocabulary.:wtf

The part when Isshin comes out is rather creepy-amusing if you disregard what the characters are saying. It looks like he's hitting on Rukia. XD (Yuzu: "Rukia-chan, I made you omelette, please be our mommy!")

Now bring on next episode with Renji's hand on Rukia's shoulder and Tatsuki's fist on Ichigo's face.
