HERE ARE THE RULES FOR THE FC: PLEASE READ THEM AND BEHAVE ACCORDINGLY

*If you do not like a pairing DO NOT post in that pairing FC. If you read the fanclub and want to discuss something that was said then sort it out via PM or elsewhere, do NOT go into that fanclub and start a war. Anyone posting in a pairing fanclub that isn't a fan will almost automatically recieve a ban.

*You can discuss other pairings but when others discuss your pairing negatively and you don't like it sort it out through pm, if you break the above rule to start a flame war it's an instant ban.

*Neg reps to rival pairing fc posts over such things won't be tolerated. I consider this being in an FC of a pairing you don't like therefore breaking a rule.

*I'd suggest just totally not reading the fc of the pairing you don't like but I know that is never gonna happen. You all wanna be able to talk about other pairings so much well fine but just be prepared for others to do it about your favourite pairing also. These rules were changed as per YOUR wishes so don't come complaining to me when you decide you don't like the change.

Ch27: Ichigo and Rukia at Don Kanonji. Ichigo noting Rukia having gentle side to her. First time access to Ichigo's thoughts of Rukia.
Ch33: Ichigo, Rukia and friends were brought to the principal's office for showing up on National TV. Rukia got them out of trouble, Ichigo and Rukia walking next to each other and in Ichigo fidgeting about the possibility of rumours being close to Rukia.
Ch34: Ichigo getting nervous when he feels rumours spread about him and Rukia. XD (Refer Chapter 7, Ichigo told Mizuiro that he doesn't care what other people thinks of him, but this chapter he became inconsistent and anxious about the rumours. XD) Slight Ichigo --> Rukia.

Volume 6:
Ch52: Rukia is running away, and remembers the lunch she had with the girls. Slight Rukia --> Ichigo.

Volume 7:
Ch53: Ichigo worries, and find her with Renji and Byakuya.
Ch54: Ichigo-Renji first fight. Renji explaining how Rukia protected him by going out. ^^
Ch55: Rukia understanding Ichigo's reaction, and still wanting him safe, helps him out. He freaks out, and is about to defeat Renji when Byakuya helps his VC.
Ch56: Rukia wanting to be by Ichigo's side, who is deeply injured. Ending up helping him and saving him. Is taken away, leaving Ichigo in despair.
Ch57: Ichigo's despair (not wanting to live anymore) and resolution to go and save Rukia, to become stronger for her.
Ch58: Ichigo's sad when he understands that no one reminds of Rukia, and left pondering when he realises that the world still continue to live without her.

Volume 9:
Ch79: feel the life coming back to Rukia when Renji told her about Ichigo barging in. ^^

Volume 10:
Ch81: Ichigo's talking with Ganjuu about Rukia, slight Ichigo --> Rukia.

Volume 11:
Ch94: pure IchiRuki goodness, brought by Hanatarou and Ichigo reminding Rukia.
Ch95: Ichigo and Renji second fight ^^ Ichigo saying that he doesn't care about his opponents, and he'll save Rukia.

Volume 12:
Ch105: Ganjuu insist on going to save Rukia, because that's what Ichigo wants the most.
Ch106: Chad explains that Ichigo went all out for Rukia, just to save her
Ch110: Ichigo's resolve to fight and save Rukia saved him against Zaraki (Zangetsu bringing him into his world).

Oh, yes. Shad0w had said that she is reading lotsa fanfiction to ease her 'manga lacks Rukia' pain, and that KT must do something really special for IchiRuki. Personally, I agree. That's what people have been saying, shouting and echoing for the past 100 in [V3] :o. I'm glad that i managed to get a first page post, so I can write this in caps and hopefully, people will see my and other people's anguish (?) at not having Rukia around, the last time seeing her being half-dead andnot seeing Ichigo and Rukia together.

We want Kuchiki Rukia! We want IchiRuki!

Um... yeah. It's sad, isn't it? -_-.

I don't know what Kubo will give IchiRuki fans. But from previous reunions he hasn't disappointed me yet. I don't see why he would do it now. But seriously, I want Ichigo to suffer. I wish he would see Rukia in that condition but cannot do anything about it. I'm mean like that.

In honour of v4 of the FC, I'm going to make an epic quote train about some posts I missed while I was reading up on the latest Final Fantasy XI wiki fundraising scandal. (*.____.*)

#1Also, I have my own pet theory about Rukia, and that is, I think she's a member of the royal family. Yeah I know we don't have proof, and I'm just guessing. But when I heard about the existence of a spirit king and the royal family, I automatically associated Rukia. I don't know why. But Kubo has been seriously keeping a lot of secret concerning her away from the readers for quite awhile now, and it definitely peak my curiosity. I want to know more about her and it looks to me that there's more to her than what we are shown now.
#2I think Isshin was a royal guard, not a previous captain like some people think. Although, it would be interesting if he was the 5th division captain prior to Aizen's takeover. I don't know about Ichigo being the spirit king, but I certainly don't mind if that's true. He already have his own 'harem' of girls, so why not? LOL, XD ...My gut feeling is telling me that the vizard along with Ichigo, plus the others, are being groom to take over in protecting the royal family and/or the spirit king against Aizen. Is Urahara the one who made the vizard what they are now - half shinigami & half hollow? I wouldn't be shock if he was the one responsible since we saw that he did it to Ichigo.
#3Me too! However, I thought the anime said Rukia and her sister died in the real world...so that kind of threw an obstacle in my theory unless it was all a lie told by Hisana to protect Rukia. I'm very curious about Rukia's last name before she was adoped by Byakuya. >_>
#4And I suspected more when I learned about the royal family too (and added the fact that rukia has that sense of nobility even as a child. i think it was pointed out by renji.) Come to think of it, when was the hougyouku implanted in her body? (I don't know if this was already answered in the manga cuz I haven't fully read it too but one thing for sure, the hougyoku was already in her body when she came to the real world, right? cuz aizen said in whatever-chapter-i-dont-remember: "But when we found out that the hougyoku was in you, you were already sent to the real world.") What was her life right before Hisana left her? Surely she won't remember it as a baby... anyway...

You all are going to be approaching my level of suspicion pretty soon. That's so awesome.
#1: Those were pretty much my exact thoughts when I heard about the "Oh BTW SS has a king lol". Which of our main characters has a unknown backstory, ambiguous name and mysterious origin? Every other main character we know about, to a greater extent. It would make sense if the reason Rukia's backstory and assorted other aspects are kept under wraps specifically because it would ruin the future plot. If it has nothing to do with the story, why hide it?

#2: Hu hu hu, I like this. :3 I thought Isshin was a member or the leader of the Royal Guard, and that Urahara was behind the creation of the Vizored we know now, but I never thought that perhaps they'd be grooming them to become Royal Guard v. 2. That's an interesting thought. Also I had fun thinking about the implications of Isshin being a ex-member of the Royal Guard setting up his son to bump into Rukia-- because, let's be honest-- if Isshin has been a shinigami all along, he knew Rukia was there the whole time. He not only played dumb but was practically complicit. He set Rukia and Ichigo up to meet with the attack on his house. There's a funny kind of irony in a former Guardsman setting up his kid to protect what should be his charge-- and even worse, cutting a deal with a shady businessman like Urahara to give his kid the power to protect. *X-Files theme*

#3: In short-- Hisana is full of beans. >_>;; What she told Byakuya was impossible to do. Namely, "My sister and I died in the human world and we were sent together to Rukongai." ...which is total bullpuckey. The first part of SS arc and SOULs pretty much all but proved that even if two people die in the same place and the same time, at the most they'll be sent to the same district, but people don't arrive in SS together, ever. Look at Shibata, his friend, all the people in Rukongai...Hisana lied her butt off, and Byakuya didn't press her for more. Hence the 'That's what she told me'. If Hisana had any idea how SS really worked she never would have come up with a cover story as lame as that. Also 'Hisana' is probably an alias. Also Hisana's insistance on Byakuya finding Rukia and 'protecting her with his power' always struck me as a little odd-- she was serious about it. Why the emphasis on the protection, unless Hisana had something to fear for her sister? I always found it interesting that in Rukia's only chapter cover page to date, 'Kuchiki' is written in the standard 'shingami' font, but 'Rukia' gets its own sparkly font.

#4: Yeah, Rukia already had the Hougyoku in her when she went to the human world and met Ichigo. The fact that Renji doesn't comment on 'Hay that time Rukia went missing' and that Rukia herself doesn't remember getting the Hougyoku leads many to believe she got it when she was very small. And yes, Renji's comment on how 'refined' she was as a kid made me sneeze too. >_>;; Also worth noting is that while Rukia had the Hougyoku in her possession, the seal on it never degraded-- however, now in Aizen's possession it's degrading rapidly. COWINKIDINK?!

Whatever all these things turn out to be, I'd say it's pretty safe to assume that Ichigo and Rukia have been thrown together by design, and not by chance. Where it goes from there, we'll have to wait on Kubo's incredibly slow pacing to find out.

Mich, auch. Camilla, I'm practically surviving on essays for concrete IchiRuki faith-givers (if that even makes sense). Fanfiction's fair good, but it can't compare, nuh-uh, to the stuff you, Ileenka, debbiechan and Syn, plus others, churn out. They're wonderful, of course. I'll be keeping my eyes wide for the link when it's out, Camilla. It would help a lot if you font the link as Arial Black, font size 5. :)
Then I / everybody else won't miss it.



Some have already discussed about the 'Will Hime use her powers to bring people back to life' issue, and that if she were to do so, it would be a real plot killer. But honestly, I wouldn't mind if:

1) Rukia dies.
(No, of course I DON'T want her to do, read the next line)
2)Ichigo arrives, and sees her dead.
(And then we will see lotsa IchiRuki ANGST, and Ichigo will carry her in his lap and hopefully, declare his love for her)
3)Hime arrives, takes one look at the scene, finally understadn enough to back down, brings Rukia back to life, and they all return to the Real World/ Soul Society.
4)However, halfway, Gin(It has to be this guy) appears, talks to them, and lets them off, not before scaring them to bits.



From there, the plot would continue, and we would still be able to have our IchiRuki Love-Fest, and Orihime fans would get to see her in action. There. 3 hollows down with one Getsuga Tenshou. :)

Anyway, I re-read Camilla's first post, the one with the spoiler. Now, my suspicions about Hisana have been raised. Besides what that had been said, has anyone wondered why is it that Rukia doesn't remember her sister? Was she still a baby then? If she was, how is it that Rukia practically inherited Hisana's 'lock of hair ':), with the poofy hairstyle and all?


I've been thinking, also, that if Hisana had not died, or if Rukia had been found when she was very young, Renji would most probably never have been in the picture, and Ichigo, also. :( If Hisana hadn't died, Rukia would have been well taken care off, and perhaps brought up as a spoiled little Kuchiki princess. That would also give Byakuya more time to love and trust her as his little sister, and he could have let her be a seated officer, then they probably wouldn't have let her gone to the real world alone, or at all.


This would lead up to her not meeting Ichigo! Oh dear.


So you see now? What a large part Hisana plays in the story?

Back on IchiRuki. Given the amount of fanfictions and AMVs, I was thinking of making some rec stuff (by adding it beside - rec standing for recommanded). So you'll have to propose what you prefer in AMVs/fics. Only thing is, I'll check it out and if I think something doesn't deserve a rec, then I'll ignore it (so chose wisely XD I'll accept most stuff, just to say, but I think that some of the stuff in the first post definitely don't deserve a rec tag).

Also, given that the last contest was most fics-centered, I was thinking about making a contest more graphics & fanarts centered. I'll just add some theme and you'll have to work around them for a fixed date. What do you think of this?

She said you have to go to Ikebukuro, you can reach there by using JR Yamanote Line (a train) to Ikebukuro station. The shop names are K-book, Mandarake and animate. Animate is a place that sell merchandises and K-book and Mandarake are shops that sell second-handed doujinshi. She warned that they are lot of yaoi doujins but IchiRuki is popular too. So you should not have problem finding IchiRuki doujins. She also said that you can go crazy shopping for IchiRuki since there are lot of stuff for this pairing. I believe her since she sent me IchiRuki sticker once :p

Thank you, Annie. I'll be around the Mitaka area, I think, and there's a train station there. I'll go recce on where those train stations you've mentioned are, though I've got a feeling that I won't be able to go to all those wonderful, wonderful IchiRuki stores, 'cause I'll be in Tokyo for only two days, and my cousins would probably want to go to Disneyland, and I want to watch the Bleach movie, too.

Sometimes, it isn't the best being at my age, 'cause I can't go around by myself without people worrying. :( If I do manage to get anything, however, I shall post pictures here.

I think Hisana's story made no sense too. It had more holes than Swiss cheese. How Rukia and her ended up together, even how they were separated. I mean Kenpachi and Yachiru were in a worse district than them, and if they were together it's weird that she would just leave the child like that.

But Kubo's been way stingy with his info. Especially as it concerns Rukia's past - which makes one believe that it has to be a major deal.

Ichigo's and Rukia's meeting does seem orchestrated, but they themselves were responsible for what happened. Both of them made very specific decisions that I don't think even Urahara could have predicted. I think he just took advantage of a choice opportunity.

And if no one orchestrated the events, then it would just be Fate. An inevitable conclusion to a meeting of those particular souls. They just happened to be pulled into a much bigger story that was unfolding (Aizen's whole plan and the Karakura daddies + Urahara)

But it all makes for great speculation until Kubo gives us more *heehee*

I agree with alot of what has been said so far. I think Hisana has alot of secrets and her desperation in finding a sister that most would think would be dead in her position yet she knew she was alive. Reguardless if it was out of guilt. Fate tho as it shows brought her to the Gotei 13 and straight to Byakuya. I always wondered what his thoughts were when he first saw her and yet all that time between adopting her (and btw on side note what prompt the old commander to agree to adopting her, was it an easy decision because it was requested by Byakuya or did he had to persuade him?) and after Ichigo rescues her from the death penalty ...her nii sama finnnnnalllllly tells her about Hisana's requests??? >_< ehh idk thats just me thinkin...

Anyhow on another note, Isshin reallly intrigues me, weither or not he and Urahara push the two to be together with the hopes* that his son becomes aquainted with how to fight more backs up the reasons behind his "morning wake up calls for Ichigo" and i agree that it didnt really matter if it was fate or orchestrated, the decisions the two made was their own along the way. Isshin to me, had alot of trust in his son to take care of himself and probably knew he needed this as much as him for all the suffering he endured from the lost of his mother. And following in on his foot steps after all "He is his father's son" that and if Isshin had any idea how Rukia is, he trusts her with all his heart to look after his son and has that much confidence with the two of them. (His acting skills of being oblivious is wonderful.) i always thought what and who in the right mind of all manga does that and thats wat i loved and initially drew me into Bleach because it was so out there for a parent to treat a son like that lol...and now we know why.

Of all the characters i admit that Urahara, as carefree and silly as he is, he is the most mysterious, i get the feeling as much as what is going on right now he always brings up something or rather someone asks him about something at a particular time to explain and shed light on what is happening but only when it is "needed" yet at the same time it seems he enjoys witholding information for his own benefit or maybe he doesnt think people are ready to hear what he knows. Eh..

Re Ichigo and Rukia meeting, I’ll play it safe and go for it being part accident, part set-up by Urahara. Then again, I tend to believe that either he or Aizen are behind pretty much everything, and cannot understand why most of the cast of Bleach don’t live their lives in a state of constant paranoia. *shrugs* The way I see it, Urahara, more or less orchestrated the disaster that was Rukia’s mission (for obvious Hogyouku related reasons) but that Ichigo and Rukia’s meeting and transfer of powers weren’t part of his plan. Especially not the power transferral part, since having an unknown substitute shinigami running around Karakura kind of killed any chances of making Rukia just disappear quietly while on mission. I kind of like the thought that their pair-dynamic threw a spanner in evil mastermind!Urahara’s works, even if he did have a back-up plan.

Concerning Hisana, maybe I’m just naïve, but I didn’t find her story all that unreasonable. Souls that die together end up standing behind one another in that great queue in the sky don’t they? Assuming they died together, and as Rukia wasn’t exactly old enough to stand, Hisana probably carried her which meant they got one Rukongai ticket for two. Kind of like a free bus pass for under-two year olds. But hey, I’m all for there being more to it than that and Hisana lying through her pretty teeth. Even on her death bed and to her loving husband no less. Oh the angst. Definitely want to know how Rukia survived after being abandoned though.

Sorry, but I have to confess that I’m not so keen on one of the gang being a member of the Royal Family. Partly because I’m not entirely convinced that the King is an actual person, but mostly because that’d be a step too far into shoujo-land for me. I’d be getting flashbacks to Sailor Moon. Which I could live with if Ichigo were the Princess Royal Heir as that would make Rukia Tuxedo Mask. And if we got full sparkly transformations for Chad, Ishida and Renji. Hey, if Szayel can do it…

I agree with you in the most part of this theory however I believe that Rukia's power tranfer to Ichigo was part of Urahara's plan all along. I think this was planned by Ishinn and Urahara since I doubt Ishinn will let his son and daugthers get killed by a hollow in his own house if he wasn't sure Ichigo will get shinigami powers from Rukia and defeat the hollow and on top of that Urahara already have that special Gigai ready for Rukia so it seems more like he was waiting for this to happen (those 2 are hiding something about Ichigo and Rukia I know)

also another theory of mine is that I think that the spirit king has something to do with Ichigo it might not make sense but I am curious about why Hollow Ichigo is trying so hard to become king of Ichigo's inner world and stealing all of his powers, he might know something about Ichigo's true powers or who truelly Ichigo is and this is something that bugs me a little but with the recent events with the spirit king and the royal family is just to much to be ignore and more theories comes to mind as well.

So in the last chapter Nell protects Ichigo correct saying something along the lines "its is to return the favor". Now who does that sound like? Well Ichigo himself. Kubo loves to use parallals, similar plot elements, similar situations, similar interactions. I think most of us understand that, so when i saw this line i thought about the scene with Ganji when he is asking about Ichigo's motivation in saving rukia. Ichigo being the hopeless romantic he is say "I own her". I want you all to pay special attention to Nell's interaction with Ichigo in the coming chapter, especially after this fight. Because it could be foreshadowing for Ichigo is going (at least eventually) act with Rukia.

Oh good, I'm not the only one? Having an actual heretofore unseen king waiting in the wings just seems very...convenient to me. Especially after the way they dropped the subject of the king without telling us anything about him. And he has to have some kind of more important job to do--clearly he doesn't issue decrees of law for Seireitei, as the Central 46 did that. So what does he do? I keep wondering if he's more like...a personification or force. Time will tell.

In any case, I would like to know why Urahara chose Rukia to hide the hogyoku inside her--and I want to know when it happened! If it was before he left Soul Society, she lived as a child for a looooong time. Several decades I think. He left at least a hundred years ago and 50 years with the Kuchiki + something less than 6 at academy + 10 years growing with Renji still leaves more years than it would take to the age she appeared in Renji's flashback. If he did it via the trick gigai in Karakura...how exactly did Aizen reason it out that she had it? Questions, questions.

One of the things I liked about the end of the SS arc is that Rukia was a convenient patsy in the whole conspiracy--it really had very little to do with her, personally. That's why I hope she doesn't have some kind of mysterious connection to the royal family or whatnot, either. Rukia is a special person, to be sure, but I like the idea of her specialness being something that comes from within herself, not because of her background.

I don't think Hisana's story as relayed by Byakuya has any particular holes in it, but it's also a very vague and abbreviated story. Possibly there would be holes if we got to hear more detail of what she told him (if she gave him details) or maybe we'd get some questions answered. I wouldn't be surprised if it's left to us fans to fill in the blanks, though--unless Rukia does turn out to have some special secret in her background, Hisana's story, while interesting, is not one that needs to be told the way, say, Isshin's story needs to be told.

Totally seconded, on the convenience point. However, we can't fault Kubo for the limitations of the manga medium - he's got to leave himself enough space to add plot twists in later while maintaining some sort of rough overall direction. He had to give Aizen a better goal than just "I will come back and own everybody in Soul Society" (since Aizen was pretty near that point already, having already killed Room 46 and defeated a fellow captain effortlessly with a single kidou), but the goal also had to be something that wouldn't potentially clash with established canon, and it's a lot easier not to contradict yourself when you don't fill in many details. The sketchier the better!

I agree - If Rukia is somehow related to the king, then Kubo's got a tremendous amount of explaining to do (why would royalty end up stranded in Rukongai?), on top of the things we're all itching to know now anyway (Isshin, Ryuuken, Urahara...). I don't object to him leaving it sort of murky - I think it's more believable than coming up with a bunch of "lucky coincidences" to try and explain. :)

Well Aizen did imply that Urahara put the Hougyoku in Rukia before he was exiled from Soul Society. If you say it was put in with the gigai then that just raises a whole bunch of unnecessary questions and just doesn't make sense when looking at what Aizen said.

Aizen: "He attempted to destroy the Hougyoku. But in the end, he couldn't find a way to destroy which he, himself, had created. So he was forced to choose another method. That was to place a protective barrier around the Hougyoku, itself, and hide it buried deep within a soul. You understand now, don't you? The hiding place he chose then...was you, Kuchiki Rukia."

Then when Aizen is about to awake Wonderwice.

Aizen: "It's likely even Urahara Kisuke doesn't know given that he sealed it immediately after it's creation, and never released it even once."

If this doesn't convince then here's even more evidence.

Aizen: "But when I found that out, it was after you had already gone missing in the living world."

Aizen: "Do you understand? He didn't lend you his assistance...he was trying to completely conceal the location of the Hougyoku by turning you into a human."

Aizen pretty much found out it was in Rukia through Urahara's files/records. How would Aizen know this if Urahara decided to only do this once he saw Rukia lying in the streets of the real world? And Aizen even said he had a hunch that Urahara was using that special gigai and that he was trying to completely conceal the location of the Hougyoku by turning you into a human. He doesn't say that Urahara tried to put the Hougyoku in Rukia through the special gigai. So the conclusion is that the Hougyoku was put it her before Urahara was exiled.

I hope that answered at least that question.

Okay, everyone's squeezing their brain to know Kubo's plot :D

Bleach is a web of schemy plot after plot revelation. You see, only one character show up and it's as if the whole story is going again to another direction. Geez, I'm guessing now that whoever will see Rukia in her dying will open again for a new revelation.

The revelation of Ichigo's father being a shinigami and his connection to Urahara and Ishida's dad makes a mess outta my brain. It seems these old geezars has a long way history of connections. If they have this connection a long time ago, then Isshin would've known his son's fate at least - that he will meet the vessel of Hougyoku. But yet, Kubo only revealed Isshin's identity after the gang of arrancar went to Earth. Perhaps, they are just on standby mode until the real threat comes.

I think many had already said about Rukia's past. But still those theory are just theory until Kubo give us the real deal. Anyway, it's fun reading those posts. :)

And like many authors, Kubo had already set the ending of Bleach a long time ago.

In what way time line wise? If you mean in how they age then yes, it is weird. Like how Yachiru is way older than she looks and yet she still looks and acts like a child. Or like how Hitsugaya looks like a young kid and yet acts like an adult and is a genius.

But time line wise in which events occurred make sense. Urahara was banned a hundred years ago or so. Rukia is at least 150 years old according to her. So she would be alive before Urahara was exiled. It all comes together.

We know they age weirdly, but we've never seen a character age very slowly and then very quickly and just stop--that's what would've had to have happened for Rukia to have been given the hogyoku as a baby (or a young age, in any case) in Rukongai. At least thirty years as a kid, and then shooting to maturity in another ten years. I just find that really odd and not that consistent with the limited info KT's given us about aging in Soul Society. Honestly, I figure it is likely that KT just didn't think about the math in that way. But I keep wanting to try and make it make sense, grrr.

Though I gotta say, the 150 years old thing is a peeve with me--I take that line as more Rukia showing off how much older and more mature she is than this silly punk who's sassing her. ;) It's not like she even know for sure how old Ichigo was at that point, so it doesn't really work as a completely concrete point of reference.

Well she knew he was at least a older looking teenager, maybe 15-18. Close enough I think for her to say that. She's probably lived many decades in the Rukongai. Then we know that she knew Kaien for at least 50 years/her time of training. And she has probably lived more decades after until current time. So I'd say 150 is a believable age. I think Kubo wanted to make it look like an exaggeration even though what she was saying was true.

I could be wrong. But I'll go with what I got for now.

Just to be clear, the math I'm using is (counting backwards from the Soul Society arc)
Approximately 50 years as a Kuchiki +
(Not quite this much, but we'll round up) 6 years in the academy +
10 years growing up from when she met Renji to when they decided to become shinigami =
~66 years. These are the only concrete dates we have. If Urahara put the hogyoku in her before he left Soul Society, that means we have to add another 34 years to her age, and the only place those years could fit is pre-Renji and the other Rukongai boys. Which would mean she spent 34 years growing from a baby to a pre-teen, then grew to maturity in ten years, speeding up the rate of her growth. It's different from Hitsugaya and Yachiru apparently just aging very slowly. So you see why I have trouble making the logic of Urahara putting the hogyoku in her while in Soul Society work for me?

I see. Though couldn't you add on years after Kaien's death and not just pre-Renji. But who knows. All I know is that it makes more sense that Urahara put it in before he was exiled. Other wise you become even more confused if you try the other way.

We really can't--we know for sure Rukia was taken from the academy and adopted around 50 years ago. So however long she knew Kaien, it was part of those fifty years. So any extra years have to be pre-Renji.

Yeah, logistically, it does make more sense for Urahara to have put to hogyoku in before he fled to the living world. It just brings another set of logic problems with it. Maybe one of these days I'll be able to mentally justify an explanation beyond "KT, he dun do so good with the maths."

I can't say that I really care how old Rukia is. Her demeanor, behavior, and mindset is that of a teenager. So I think that speaks louder than her actual age--whatever it may be.

I think you're missing a piece of information to say that there is a plothole there; it's when Urahara created the Hougyoku; because he probably didn't create it right before being exiled.
As for growing up suddenly, I'd say it's because of Kubo's art, mainly; if you look at her in her flashback with Kaien in ch268, she looks much more younger than what she was when she told Renji 'let's become shinigamis'. So my guess is that she was still really young-looking when she entered the Sereitei. Renji, on the other hand, matured faster than Rukia.
As for how old she is; I say we can easily bet on 110 years old, at least. She seems to age quite slowly, like Hitsugaya (my theory being that the aging in SS is tied with... the reiatsu). It is also possible that the Hougyoku had some after-effects like slowling her aging.
Compared to Ichigo, sure, she is much older; but in SS, it's not exactly what counts. She's considered as a teen in SS, pretty much like Ichigo is a teen in the real world. So when she says 'I'm ten times older than you', we can guess that it's mainly because he pissed her off and she wanted to kick his ass XD
I guess that Ichigo would probably age very slowly in SS too XD all in all, I still think that his destiny is to end up in SS and that SS will change under his influence (I mean, even more than now). But that's probably something that won't be told in Bleach :p
