Okay, since the new version isn't up yet, I'll just post here in the meantime XD

I too am curious about the meaning of Rukia's name. Kubo has been quite secretive about it since Bleach started. It has to be pretty important somehow for him not to reveal anything about it, especially her real family name. We know Kuchiki isn't her and Hisana's original last name. They were only given the 'Kuchiki' last name because Hisana married Byakuya and Rukia was adopted. I think I remembered from way back that there was an interview, where Kubo was asked about the meaning of Rukia's name or something relating to her name, and he was kinda hesitant to answer the question, but instead say it's a secret or something like that. For all we know, Rukia might not be her real name, since we know Hisana left her when she was a baby, and during Byakuya's flashback, Hisana never call Rukia by her name. She refers to her as 'sister.'

Haha, very funny :p...Yellow rose can also mean 'friendship' as well. I just noticed it during episode 144, and it reminded me of what you guys were talking about. It could also mean that Chad will support Ichigo and Rukia being together, who knows. Or it can be something that is done by the animators that's signaling IchiRuki, and they so happen to paste it on chad's shirt, since it would work for his style.

I think we're all interested in Rukia's name. I found many different meanings for the "yellow rose" in Japanese culture.

But none that were especially common place. I don't think the yellow rose had any shipping meaning - what I associated with it's appearance in the ED is that it's this overcast day, and Yuzu is in the garden which is blooming beautifully, and there is one especially bright coloured rose. The colour of sunshine, the colour of Hope, and she finds her brother. Or rather, Ichigo comes home.

I love Rukia to bits and know the animators do too, but I think the rose being Rukia is a bit of a stretch.

Personally, though, I've always been puzzled by Ichigo's Quincy-crossed comforter, which has been spread out on his bed since Day 1. If these little symbols are supposed to signs of KT's approval regarding pairings, I think we are in more trouble now.

I don't think the yellow rose means that the animators are saying "Yes, this yellow flower is suppose to represent Rukia." Afterall, not everyone who sees a yellow rose will right away associate it to Rukia. In the ED, the yellow rose is the only one among the rose bushes that look so vivid. It stands out among the rest of the colored roses. If the animators are indeed implying that the yellow rose = Rukia, then perhaps it's their way of saying that like the yellow rose, Rukia stands out among the other characters in Bleach, or if you want to look at it in a shipping way, she stands out as being the most important among the people in Ichigo's life :p

You know there are many kind of flowers in the world with different colors but in this ending the animators have chosen one that could resembles Rukia's name from all those others, the fact that flower was the most beautiful and the one of the kind in that garden and and the last person in Ichigo's dream before he wakes up, Hmm I am not quite sure but there is something fishy about this yellow rose is to much to be a considence imo, a spoiler perhaps? not quite sure but one thing is for sure and is that we know the animators just like Kubo himself loves to use symbols and others things to represent the characters in Bleach especially for Rukia and Ichigo so is not really surprising at all.

More like Chad supports Ichigo and Rukia just being friends. That's the kind of greedy giant he is, after all. Remember that tattoo he has, "Amore et Morte" (Love and Death)? How could Chad join love and death better than pursuing a "Death" Reaper? Or how about those hollow-based powers he has? Seems to me like Chad wants a certain "Death" Reaper (Rukia) to come after him, and I don't like it.

I'd always been puzzled by people bringing up those stupid Quincy crosses, and I found out why today. They don't exist in the manga. So, Quincy-cross comforter =/= canon. In fact, neither of this yellow rose stuff is, either. I can't see how Kubo could have intended Rukia to mean "Lucia" since practically none of the characters have Romanized names (except Chad. Coincidence? Of course not), and there's no flower symbolism for Rukia in the manga.

Which is what makes this Rad stuff so frightening. How can that threat be so real when there's no basis for it?!

I feel so dirty and pwned, I checked all the scenes where I saw that stupid Quincy cross comforter and lo and behold... they are not clear in the manga, and therefore possibly does not exist. Damn it, have I visually internalized all the scenes from the anime?!

The only "Rukia" I could find was always the scientific name of a bird lol, but I never searched in japanese so...
