Good start, bad ending
Black cat
Night Head Genesis
Haruhi

Bad start good ending
Can't really think now, usually if it sucked in the first few eps, I'll dump the show

^^ Wth? I think Haruhi had a bad start. The first episode made a lot of people switch off half way. Its very confusing and the episodes being out of order was hard to deal with at first. The last five eps are pure gold though. From the Yuki fight onwards people just constantly praised the series.

One Piece had a bad start. It hasnt ended yet but its going really strong being pretty much the most popular long running anime in Jappyland right now.

what was bad about the ending of samurai7 *yells*

FMA anime ending was lacklustre compared to how it started out.
Black cat started nicely following the manga and then wtf...jesus they butchered that =p

It's just his opinion and you do not have to agree so let's leave it at that ok :)

I agree that Death Note stared great and ended pretty bad. At first it was like jeez best thing ever but it went down hill around the middle IMO.

What about animes, build over good mangas, but sucked from the begining of the anime?

If this count then "Ginga Densetsu Weed" It's just to far from the Greatness of GNG(it's preedecesor(sp?))

Haruhi, and Lucky Star. Both had "eh..." first episodes. Like Haruhi was like, WTF is going on, and Lucky Star was like "ok, stop talking about food now, boring" But they got a lot better. Especially Lucky Star.

Last Exile was great all the way up to the ending. I hear that they were forced to end it fast because it wasn't renewed for another season, but damn did it crash and burn with that ending.

Gungrave has a pretty boring first episode. That episode really doesn't give you a good idea of how great the series is.

Good Start Bad End

Bakumatsu Kikansetsu Irohanihoheto

It was a really interesting anime . it was historical as the name suggest and fantasy based . Till about episode 12 things were clear but after ep 12 plot got complicated and many new character were introduced . Also the historical element added to the confusion

Good start terrible ending: Getbackers

I wish it didn't get canceled because the ending was so abrupt and inconclusive...it didn't answer any of the questions the viewer got during the show and was a totally disappointing way to end such a good show

wOOt yeah, had the same thing, stupid food, and I was confused by the cuteness of the song like o.O;; WHAT? and then it ended and they started to talk about... food :S but it got really good after that...

Good Start Bad Ending ....

Ayakashi Ayashi : I had this on my pc for 5 months I started watching it around ep 20 I saw the first episode and well it was extremely confusing . I watched ep 2 was confused more .That way it stayed on my pc for close to 5 months . Though I was downloading ep on weekly basis I couldn’t bring myself to watch it

One day I was really bored so out of desperation I watched ep 3 and I started understanding and enjoying the show . For the nest 48 hours I watched next 17 episodes

Its a really good shonen show stereotypical but enjoyable . Ayagami you have to understand that first and you will enjoy the show

SaiKano had a really bad start. Slow moving story, not enough info, confusing WTF is goin on. But once it got going, you got accustom to the feel of the show as it picked up. The ending was simply great. Will never forget it.

Death Note was amazing at the start but then sucked after "he" died.

Pastel was also pretty good but its kinda just dragging right now.

Good Start bad ending

Chrno Crusade ANIME - it was great at the beggining because it was so close to the manga, but then it diverged and petered off the horrible ending where all of except one of the main protagonists die and the main enemy is immortal

Tomodachi69

Good to Bad:
Neon Genesis Evangelion (televised version) - The budget cut really took a toll on those last few episodes.
Hellsing - Followed the manga pretty well then went downhill.
Getbackers - See above. I was nice to see Ban/Akabane again, though. The new designs for the new Infinite Fortress characters and story? Meh. Would have been sweet if the manga storyline was followed instead of going back to Infinite Fortress.

Bad to Good:
Can't think of any.

btw, why is d.gray on the list? It's still running, so... :/

Cause its only supposed to be 52 episodes :P how is a good ending going to come from such short notice

Tomodachi69
07-10-2007, 11:05 PM
lol, that's true. I guess they're totally gonna scrap the whole Edo arc and have Cross appear randomly and then end the series. Is it really 52 though? I mean, they're just starting to get back to the manga plot and all. Oh well, time will tell.

Good to Bad
Naruto - Not Shippuden. The pre-timeskip anime was good until fillers. Fillers to the end lol

I totally agree, Chrno Crusade got bad after the second dvd and the ending was like you said, inuhanyou, horrible... it was really disppointing.

Also, Good -----> Bad
was Rurouni Kenshin.... I loved the 2nd arc because is followed the manga to a tee, but it was just butchered in the 3rd arc......if only they waited for the manga and didn't do the latest craze of fillers =_= It was also disappointing :(

Same with the Naruto fillers, like Tomodachi69 said, the ones before shippuden....they basically made you cry with boredom waiting for the shippuden arc...:(

I'd say Shadow Skill and Samurai7 had good starts, but bad endings.

In Shadow Skill, the beginning was good and I thought it was a really good anime overall. The problem is that the ending was rushed and felt odd, and left many plotholes in the process. Very dissapointing since it could've been MUCH better than that (still a good anime though). Should've have more episodes IMO

Samurai7 was good, but again, I felt the ending was somewhat rushed and it left me kinda empty in the end o_O.

edit : as I read the post above me, I felt the same way about RK. The first arc was alright, the second one was really good and the third arc (fillers...) was amazingly CRAPPY. Kenshin was getting simply pwned again and again so much that it was ridiculous. the filler characters were uninteresting and the storyline pretty much made absolutely no sense. I didn't even watch it till the end >__>;

Geta Boshi
07-12-2007, 03:46 AM
Yeah I even feel that about Samurai 7 the ending and the deaths feel rushed up. I know it was inspired by Akiro Kurosawa'a movie, so was sticking to the original storyline. But I did feel the series being rushed up

Tomodachi69
07-16-2007, 01:24 AM
good to bad
Rurouni Kenshin
I agree that the last arc (coughfillercough) of RK was terrible. Another Hiten Mitsurugi master with some lightning technique, some Euro warriors, and warring Feng Sui clans that kicked Kenshin's A so hard, I can't believe I actually watched it. But at least the OVAs took care of the Enishi arc, even though it was only Ken, Kaoru, and Enishi. If only the anime did the enishi arc... oh well.

ALL SPOILERS BELOW !

Good to bad:

Witch Hunter Robin .. the ending was really open, and it didnt tell anything about the two main characters. wethere they were alive of dead.

Samurai X .. I didnt like what happened to Kenshin.

Neon Genesis Evagelion 2nd Movie .. I liked how Rei Ayanami's role was played, but i didnt like how the last scene in the ending went. I wana know what happens to Asuka and Shinji.

Fruit Basket .. SOOO nothing like the manga !! It shows as if they are not gonna do anything about the curse !! even tho they were going on and on about how it was ruining their lives. and they didnt even show the REST of the characters !! :(

Samurai Shamploo .. so they jst go their seperate way ???!!! after all that drama and fighting between them ??! soo not cool >_>

Dragon Ball GT .. WHERE did Goku go ??!

I actually didn't mind the ending of Samurai Champloo. :D It was kinda the same as the ending to Bebop. But they all live. It's like their little adventure is now over and they all go on with their lives. Very realistic ending. Especially for the times.

@gothic lolita - most of those series's arent badly presented at all, just left open to interpretation .-.

Velius
07-16-2007, 02:01 AM
Witch Hunter Robin was horrible. The beginning was decent. Then after episode 5 it all just went down hill. Fruit Baskets is the same way, but the majority of it was just. It was the ending that was horribly planned. GT was the Shounen overkill to finish off the sereis. There wasn't much thought going into it and there didn't need to be. lol.

@Velius: i prefer the endings that satisfy my soul XD ... lol and i kinda agree with you in some of the stuff you said above. *nods*

@Inuhanyou: i stated in my post that its from GOOD to BAD. all of the stuff i said were jst ones with really "wtf" endings. jst something i didnt expect to happen. thats all

07-16-2007, 02:24 AM
LOL satisfies your soul? Like which anime series? FMA?

eh, I like Samurai Champloo and Cowboy Bebop as well..I mean, they were done by the same people, basically. XD At least with Cowboy Bebop, the thing with Vicious made more sense.

My Hime had a horrible ending. Dear god. Even the bad guys ended up happy ever after. >.<

07-16-2007, 02:38 AM
As much as like LOVE mai hime, I have to agree on the cheezyness of the ending. It could have took the uber emo way and left everyone dead, but just with the way the series was, I don't think they were even thinking about that as a possibility. So yes, everyone lives happily ever after, but I think the best of the series was the story. Can't wait for that sequel!

Good start => Bad ending
Gundam Seed Destiny : the beginning was okay ; the second half was... let's say not okay ; the final episodes and the final battle were too rushed
Tenkū no Escaflowne : one of the worst anime ending I know disappointed by the way the romance ended
My Hime : for the same reason as aznxenocide, a "too happy ending"
Fullmetal Alchemist : the film didn't end how I wanted it to end (but at least it gives a correct ending to the anime

Bad start => Good ending
RahXephon : I didn't understand the first episodes at all but after the first three episodes, it was great

Edit : You're right Beee, I went too far with Escaflowne. It's just that the anime gave a lot of importance to romance (and I'm usually very interested in romance in animes and manga) so the ending didn't satisfy me at all. Anyway, you're right and I apologize to all the Escaflowne fans I may have offended :D

-Death Note in the good Beginning --> bad ending.

-there's the Rurouni Kenshin manga in which the beginning was alright but a little boring, the middle part that was awesome, and the end that was... not so good i thought (didn't like how Enishi was overpowered...I found that very annoying)

Good start => Bad ending
Gundam Seed Destiny : the beginning was okay ; the second half was... let's say not okay ; the final episodes and the final battle were too rushed
Tenkū no Escaflowne : one of the worst anime ending I know

for GSD I agree totally.. but for Esca I wouldn't go that far o_o the ending was bad and left me empty but 'worst ever' is going a little far imo

This probably doesn't count- the manga Ichigo 100% had a good start with a bad ending.

YuYu Hakusho- The start was average but the ending was excellent (In my opinion)

OMG BIG O. How could I forget about that show! That was the biggest WTF ending ever. ahahahaha. The memories are flooding back from watching it on AS. That ending was just like, huh... what... wait... she was... or she is.... wait... where is everyone.... -head explodes-

Inuhanyou
07-17-2007, 05:24 PM
lol yea i know right, everyone just kinda...dissapeared..and the city was a big stadium or something, and even then, they didnt show what was outside of it and what the heck happend 40 years ago? I doubt even the writers figured that one out

Velius
07-19-2007, 08:34 PM
Writers!? Ha! More like monkey playing darts with endings on the wall.

"Ok this one it is. And the whole world disappears and so does everyone, throw in a plot twist with Angel and that's it. We have our ending!"

Really, could it have been any more random and fulfilling. That being said, anyone know about the second season? :)
