Just got back from all you can eat Hotpot ( aka Steamboat, aka Shabu-Shabu ), and all I can say is this :
1. NEVER EVER ask for spicy soup base!!! As of right now, I don't know where my tongue is, probably left it back at the restaurant >.<!
2. NEVER order more than you can handle! Yes it's all you can eat, but if you don't finish what you ordered, they're gonna charge you for the leftovers ... so you end up stuffing yourself till your stomach burst T_T

Now excuse me while I go find my tongue .... maybe my stomach too >.<!

Oh Food my absolute favorite thing to talk about!!! I love good. I had chicken quesidillas for breakfast with V8 fusion strawberry banana (favorite juice its just so good. I also like the blueberry pomegranate one), who can say no to a full serving of fruits and veggies in a 8 oz glass.

Depending on the kind of 'diet' you go on- it can be healthy.. I went on one called the 'lemon diet'. It's not really a diet (well, okay it is somewhat)- but it cleans your body of the antibotics that are bad for you and---- a lot of other stuff that is too gross for me to mention. Look it up online- you'll be surprised! And, don't listen to a few people that say "It doesn't work!" (yeah right, probably cheated by eating three slices of pie while you were on it- or did it for a day)... *Cough* But, I'm serious, it's a good one--- especailly if you're REALLY unheathly- it helps you clean your body a lot/enough--- depending on how long you go on it that is.... Anyway, I haven't tried an new foods---- and it seems that I can't.... Any suggestions for me?

Hrm..there aren't many all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ places in the Bay area. What I notice popping up more is Soon Tofu houses. Which is where i go to eat most of the time.

As for filipino restaurants we have two really good ones around the area Lucky Chances which is like the filipino denny's (really good food though) the longanisa there is to die for and the halo halo there isn't bad either.

And Gerrys Grill (which i believe to be a chain) has really good pork barbeque and crispy pata. i also adore their crab fried rice....gosh now I'm hungry

I love Top Chef too, but i learned how to replace my cravings with working out ^^ once you see some results its addicting XD

I have a good rice pudding recipe for anyone interested.

* 1 cup sugar
* 1.5 liters Milk
* 2 table spoons coconut shreds (this part optional)
* 1 cinnamon stick
* 3 thin orange peels, 3 thin lemon peels - make sure that you only get the skin and not the white part, about 4 cm long.
* 1 table spoon butter
* cinnamon powder

Directions:

* Cook 1 cup rice separately, once it is done take it off the heat, let it stand until it drys. (1 cup rice to 2 cups water, cover and bring to boil, then turn down heat to low and let it simmer for about 20 minutes.)
* In another pot boil the milk, once boiled remove it from the heat, add the coconut shreds, cover it and let it stand for 5 minutes. Then drain the milk through a sieve to remove the coconut shreds, clean the pot if necessary, return the milk to the pot and then add the rice, the sugar, the butter and the cinnamon stick. On medium to low heat you must let it reduce until it starts getting creamy, once it starts to get creamy add the orange and lemon peels. When it is nice and creamy you are done, just remove all the peels and the cinnamon stick then pour it into a bowl or individual bowls and let it stand for a while to cool down and thicken a bit. Then you can sprinkle the cinnamon powder on top.

Chocolate Thunder From Down Under is awesome...it's a hot pecan ( I think it's pecans....) brownie with vanilla ice cream on top. On the ice cream is qhipped cream, hot chocolate, and chocolate shavings. It is the best brownie desert ever. And it's enough to feed all of us lol. Well plus we are mostly full by the time we are done with dinner. My mom always reminds us "Make sure you save room for desert! We can just take the leftovers home." =P

fermented food is famous in my place too. there are fermented shrimp, fish, jellyfish, and other type of sea foods and vegetables (like kimchi for the koreans). ppl simply season those raw foods and keep them in a jar for a period of time, so yea, the enzymes and bacteria will do their thing. i dont eat those tho, they taste weird, but lots of ppl are addicted to fermented food. it serve as appetizers to some ppl too XP

oh, and i had dhal, fried anchovies and rice for lunch (i dun think anybody is familiar with that XD) yum yum ^^

@speed; yup, dhal is yummy. fried anchovies are those small fish (smaller tahn ur pinky[in case you have no idea on what it is XP]) and they are fried with cooking oil just like that, since they have already been dried and seasoned with salt.

I already told Speedy that those deep-fried anchovy things are usually eaten with peanuts in a dish called 'nasi lemak' - coconut-flavoured rice with fried egg, fried chicken, fried fish and peanuts, some chili paste and veggies (if you're lucky). :D

i think i saw that on a show like that (or was it a show called taboo?) they have a food called stinky heads which are tuna heads buried for 3 weeks in a shallow hole in the ground, the lady who made it said its the most tasty thing ever (well she is willing to risk her life for it) she tried to give some to non Eskimos friends of her and by looking at their face it was clear they didn't liked it.

as for the poisoned fish, how persistent can you be to find out if a fish is poisoned at this part or another? most likely tested on prisoners but still, that is one determined chef.

My mother's side is from the south, so I never get tired of simple, comforting southern cuisine. :smug I also enjoy Thai and Italian food.

A good friend convinced me to go to an Ethiopian restaurant a while back. I was a bit reluctant at first because I heard they typically eat with their hands. Luckily, she explained to me that they use some sort of spongy bread. And all the food is usually on a single platter. The people their kind of ripped us off because they offered us some sort of water from some mountain or far away country, and charged us for it. But I enjoyed the food, nonetheless. :o

Anyway, does anyone happen to watch Ace of Cakes or any of the professional cake/food competitions on the Food Network? I love how much detail they put into something so tasty. And the competitions can be quite eye catching. :uhuh

fried eel is tasty too, and mix vegies with young baby corn.

And the sauce the chicken unions + paprika makes

My mother's side is from the south, so I never get tired of simple, comforting southern cuisine. I also enjoy Thai and Italian food.

i like thai food as well especially pandan leaf chicken, kangkung belacan and a dessert, not sure how to spell it but the bottom part is wrapped with pandan leaf, on top is a creamy white layer and bottom is a crunchy refreshing watercrest pudding(?) :wha

I would love to try every kind of food there is. T_T

For dinner, I went to the Japanese place near my school and had katsu don which is strips of pork with egg and some sauce with the rice at the bottom. It was pretty good.

I like some Thai food, but in general, I don't like spicy food all that much. D:

@lilium~ yeah, the one i posted looks a bit weird. it's suppose to look all 'pudding-ly' (..hm, i dunno what word to use to describe it..) and soft and 'jiggly' :P

@Maia~ katsu don sounds yummylicious ;D and thai food is mostly spicy in nature, but you can always cook it yourself and make it less spicy.

I'm crazy for Crumpy,which is similar to Nutella, at the moment...the chocolatey goodness..mmm..

Aside from that, I'd say that I'm craving for Dole Pineapple Orange Juice, Pritong Manok fried chicken, Sizzling Beef Tenderloin, Apple Pie, and I'm craving for some soft tacos..

I can't cook actually, but about mixing and trying new kind of foods, i'm the best around. :D
So far, the craziest mix i've ever done was a sandwich with cheese, pumpkin pulp, salame, white chocolate and some migled nuts. :D
