I have only been to Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Brunei, Hawaii and Dubai ... currently trying to decide on a new travel destination ^^
I'd love to visit Japan, Korea, China, Cambodia and Australia someday ... actually .... I wish I have money to travel the whole world :p
So, any places you have been to that you would recommend people to travel to?

I recommend Syracuse, NY.
LOL, Great rec, Llama. For people who love Orange men, that's the place to go. XD
My rec is San Diego, California. Absolutely has the best weather year round, IMO. And of-course, Las Vegas, just for when you feel like wanting to lose money and have fun while doing it.
Places I want to go, definitely, Japan, England, Italy and possibly Australia as I have a cousin who lives there who keeps inviting. But it's the travel time that's keeping me from making the trek so it will be a while before that happens.

Beaches are <3 :p
Hope to be able to go to the beach more often this summer since half my friends have cars now haha:p
Living in South Eastern Australia, we have the coldest friggen beaches >< water coming from Antarctica haha so you freeze as soon as you touch it. They're still nice though.

I've been all around Australia...except for Tasmania, and i've heard of the beautiful scenery from there...So i'd really like to go to Tasmania.
I remember when i went to Melbourne, i was like... 8. I saw a tram and i was like "WOOW! A TRAM!" xD 'Cause we don't have trams in Sydney except for in the city.
I went on a tour all around China earlier this year, so blardy cold on the Great Wall of China... I'm proud to say that i ROLLED down the Great Wall, don't see that every day do you? My brother pushed me over and i just went rolling down this steep part of the wall... Luckily, they weren't stairs. xP
There are many places i want to go i can't possibly list them all... Though, the two main ones are Japan and all around Europe, especially Italy.

Tasmania is pretty nice, I can't remember much about it though, last time I went was 1995. I'll be going again at the end of the year in November sometime too.

and let me know if any of you drop by Japan, I may recommend some nice places for you. I did travel a lot all over Japan except Hokkaido. What I heard about it was that they have the most delicious and quality food in Japan.

Ever travelled to another country and wanted to share the stories about it? Here's your chance. Please let us know: which country you have visited, as a tourist / student / working holiday, what inspired you to visit that country, and a general overview of your experience.
...
I've recently visited Siem Reap, Cambodia. It was a guided 4-day tour with my parents, and we wanted to visit mainly to see the Angkor temples (which applied to be one of the 7 wonders of the world, but lost out to China's Great Wall.)
Siem Reap is a developing country, heavily reliant on the tourist dollar to build basic infrastructure like paved roads. In its history, it has been ravaged by various invading countries, land mines, and the brutal regime of Pol Pot.
The main attraction of Siem Reap are the Angkor temples, build 1,000 years ago and heavily steeped in Buddhist and Hindu lore. Angkor Wat is one of the more famous temples. Ta Phrom is another, known as the 'Tomb Raider temple'. Remember the scenes where the huge trees are growing on a ruined building? Yep, that's it. Even close-up, the trees look fake, the bark looks shiny. Our guide tells us that the trees are hollow inside, that's how the temple isn't crushed by the jungle.
There's alot of history in the Angkor temples, and you have to be physically there to see it. Guide books don't really do them justice. The Angkor temple complex is huge, and 4 days isn't really enough to see all of them. Bring lots of comfortable clothing (sleeved shirts, as bared shoulders are seen as disrespect to the deities) and walking shoes - there's alot of climbing and uneven surfaces around. Bring anti-mosquito repellents too... the amount of stagnant pools are alarming, and there is a real danger of dengue fever.
The local currency is Riel, however the US$ is eagerly accepted. Most of the local people are polite, but watch out for the highly persistant touts. Our local tour guide welcomes the visitors, but is regretful of the resources wasted to accommodate the tourists.
In addition, I shall never forget the sight of several Chinese tourists clambering up the narrow temple steps in 4-inch stiletto heels. *sigh*
All in all, I did enjoy the visit to Cambodia.

Merged Uni's thread with Jaw's thread since they're the same thing. Remember to search:p
Hmm lets see......
I've been to Europe and New Zealand most notably.
My most memorable place in Europe was probably Venice. I loved Venice XD. We went on a tour, there was a whole island for a carpark so I called it carpark island XD.
Then we took a boat to the main island of Venice. Was really cool, all the buildings are hundreds of years old and it looks really nice. So many pigeons at St. Marks square! All the streets are all quaint and nice ^_^ little bridges over the canals and all. Went into this Venetian glass factory, this guy made a glass horse.
He had a blob of glass on this metal rod and he had a pair of pliars which he just pinched parts of the glass, pulled out a leg, bent it, clamped it all into shape, snipped the mane of the horse with his pliars and it was just amazing how quick he did it XD.
Then we went on a Gondola ride through the canals, that was pretty cool, what Venice is known best for XD. I remember walking around there and there were postcards with all the male genitalia from all the old statues haha with the Italian word for them too:p.
Took another boat to another nearby island for lunch, it was one of those lost in time moments since everything there seemed preserved for hundreds of years. Small island community, I bet they hated tourists haha ><. I remember at the restaurant I had a steak well done and gah, way too WELL done x3 was a rock haha.

New Zealand I remember much better since it wasn't 7 years ago. Was only 2 years ago XD.
The most memorable part was seeing the Franz Joseph Glacier. That was super awesome. Parked at the carpark and walked all along the valley that it had carved out when it advanced during the ice ages and all. We got to walk right up to the glacier, which looks nice from a distance but you can see at the front of it, that its covered in all this grey dirt and dust. Further back is all the nice shiny clean blue ice XD. We got to see this massive chunk of ice fall off the glacier which made a huge splash in the river of meltaway ice below it.
