If i were to names the Espada releases thread

This is a thread where if you were at a stand point of Tite Kubo and had to create names for all the Espada releases. Heres my list as follows.

Spanish translation- (bestia del hierro)

Romanji- kuitsukuse GlotonerÃ*a (devour, gluttony) Kubo hit this release on the mark and i wouldn't have changed his release name nor command for this one. Its been kept the same.Szayel Aporro

Though i have come up with a name for his release, i do infact believe that Nnoitra does not have a release state.Ulquiorra

zanpakutō name- 暗いオオカミ English translation- dark wolf
Spanish translation- lobo oscuro
romanji- wameki koe no kurayami no ookami (howl, dark wolf)
I do believe that Ulquiorra's release has something to do with a dog or wolf from his appearence.Halibel

I have alittle hard time to see how Ulquiorra's mask can be related to a wolf though, mainly dur to the horn.

Though for personallity a wolf is a good referance.


I'd say his look resemble more of that of either a Deepwater creature, Insect or something Anchient.


Wouldn't supprise me either if Ulq turned out to be a Centipilar spc when looking at the "sections" of his mask around the neck

sounds cool and all, but i don't the majority of the espada to have animal releases. the captains zanpaktou are so unique. giving them all animal-like qualities almost feels like a copp out(sp?)

yea Ulquiorra's release will definitely be an interesting one. I'm curious to see what it is. I think it might refer to a dog as well because he's very loyal in nature, Aizen inparticular. I like the idea of a deep water creature though or even some sort of insect, but i'm hoping for his release to be more beast like then anything.

If all the remaining Espada are Adjuchas, then yeah, they'll have forms that resemble animals, or weird messed up stuff (Szayel).

But if they were Vast Lord, especially starting from Ulquiorra, they are going to have a humanoid type release. So I'd consider maybe having an addition write up for the Espada you think could be Vast Lord and what their releases could be.

I never took in that aspect, but it is quite possible that Espada 1-4 are Vasto Lordes. If so then there releases would be more complex and not directly having releases reference to animals. Ill come up with new releases for the 1-4. I do not think that Aizen has arrancarized any vasto lordes yet. For the simple fact that Kubo hasn't shown us that power gap yet. Let me explain, what i mean is that kubo has never shown a VL's ability's in battle. So to make them into arrancar then have them fight doesn't make sense just yet. Since VL are already stronger than captains, you have to show just how big a power gap comes from going from VL to Espada.

It seems the releases of the higher numbers look more human like as they progress. It wouldn't suprise me if the release of the higher numbers doesn't change their appearances that much.

Old-man Espada's release command could be "fade". I kind of like that command for him.

I agree wholeheartedly that Kubo can't afford to have another "grimmjaw release" fiasco. He did fairly okay with Szayel's release. So lets just hope the streak continues.

Im kinda predicting that Nnoitras zanpaktos name wud be Envidia(Spanish for Envy) and the release command wud be "intoxicate" or "poison" seeing his snake like theme/appearance and the manifestation of envy is a snake.(also he seems 2 be jealous of Ulqi)

good point, but in regards to the Espada releases being all female. I think that only pertains Szayel since his is Lewdness Queen. Grimmjaws is Pantera which means "panther king". Pantera is simply the spanish way of saying it, its more of a term of status then a female name. Same pertains to Glotoneria which means gluttony.

Hum, I'm not sure that the zanpakutous are necessarily female, it's just that Spanish is a gendered language and that 'panther' and 'gluttony' happen to be female nouns.

Actually, would the arrancars' zanpakutou even have a personnification? A shinigami's zanpakutou seems to manifest itself in order to teach its wielder how to use it, but since the arrancars release unseals their power by directly affecting their body, I don't really see the need for the sword's spirit to drag the arrancar into an inner world and give them the low-down. Unless they have to go and fight their inner shinigami :rolleyes:

Yea i always wondered about an Arrancar's zanpakutō. I wondered if there was a spirit within the zanpakutō much like shinigami's have. I'm not to sure. Well my take on it is that a arrancar's zanpakutō is simply a arrancars hollow form sealed into a zanpakutō. This would give the reason why when they release they gain back some of there hollow form. What upset me the most is that when Grimmjaw released, he looked nothing like his old hollow form when he was an Adjucas. His Adjucas form looked awesome.
