I think I'm the only lasermouse hater in the world O.o I just can't work with such a ... thing. Besides, I luv my Fujitsu-Siemens trackball mouse <3

Anyway, my comp could be considered as old. Two months ago I had to replace my RAM and I discovered it was a SDR one O.o What a shame. I'm glad the computer can worl with DDR too.

Intel(R)
Celeron(R) CPU 2.00 GHz
1,99 GHz 512 DDR RAM
37 GB Hard drive [yeah, mock at me ._.]

Anyway, I'm okay with this stuff for now... still I wish to buy myself a moveable hard with 250 GB or so.

3.25gb is around the limit with 32bit windows to use all 4 you will need 64bit windows. Putting in 4 could cause stablility issues and just 2-3 gigs in you will prob see an improvement. Now if you were encoding a dvd per say it may use more but for most tasks it won't. Even in vista unless you get the 64 bit version you wont use 4 gigs. Now it comes in handy when you are running 2 operating systems though :)

I own a crappy desktop and a crappy laptop but the desktop comes first

HP Pavillion 514x Tower
Windows XP Home edition
2.0 GHZ Intel Celeron Processor
256 MB of Ram
256 MB ATI Radeon 9250 Graphics Card
DVD Burner and a DVD Reader
6 USB Ports

It was a fairly good computer when I first got it...but now its dying due to years of mess-ups (Had to restore it 4 times due to hard drive failure) and I have owned this computer for about 5 years. (Replaced the hard drive on it...3 times)

Compaq Presario Laptop
Windows Vista Basic (It sucks...badly)
AMD 1.8 GHZ Sempron Processor
512 MB DDR RAM
256 MB nVidia PureVideo Graphics Card
CD writer/DVD Reader
15.4 inch LCD Screen

Other than the crappy OS that it has...I have no problems with using it...except that it overheats from time to time...so I'm forced to use an external fan on it >.<

320 GB of Hard Drive Space
256 MB of RAM
DVD Reader/CD Burner Combo (I don't have any extra DVD burners on me)
8 USB Ports

Since I have built this computer myself (started from a clean OS install) I installed everything that I needed for it to run smoothly (Virus protection software, Spyware and Malware Protection and etc etc)

So this new puppy runs circles around my Vista Laptop XD

HP Pavilion dv6700.

Had it for 3 months. Been working perfectly except some game incompatibility issues due to Vista.

Some incompatibly issues with certain games on Vista can be fixed with a patch from the game's website. You just have to look for it. I found a patch for my old Sims PC game using this method ^-^

Update to my old HP computer

HP Pavillion 514x Desktop
2.0 GHZ Intel Celeron Processor
16x Read/write DVD Burner and 52x Read/write DVD reader/CD writer combo
3 1/2 Floppy Disk Drive
6 USB Ports
ATI Radeon 9250 Graphics card with 256 of shared Video Memory
1 GB DDR RAM <----Upgraded
PCI Wireless Card <----New hardware
RealTek Audio Card (stereo sound)

Old computer...I know. But it still has some life in it. The additional RAM that I added was a good investment. This computer has never let me down. Ever!

If you're aiming to edit pics and video with your PC, I suggest that you get a better dual-core processor with a more higher clock speed. A clockspeed range of 2.2-2.6 GHZ would be enough to provide you with lagless speed when editing video :lmao

Apple computers may have good specs but the OS is shitty and you can barely play any games. If you want a super-expensive computer only for graphic design and browsing then get a Mac.

Dante86
10-18-2008, 06:08 PM
Apple owns the brand of Mac, Aizen :XD

The Mac Pro Line of desktops are the best available out of the box for consumers. :lmao

Though some people don't like Mac's OS Leopard so they build their own supercomputer. :XD

I believe that Vista will never amount to what XP has accomplished, because Windows is currently working on a new OS that looks way more promising than Vista. New Windows Project is codenamed Windows 7 aka Vienna.

It will be using the kernel from Windows Server 2008. (Known to be a very good and reliable OS)

Aizen
10-19-2008, 09:12 AM
Why did you assume I did not know that?

As I said, Macs are good for total starters (who want to experience the internet), graphic designers or music producing. (well, until some point)
If you want to play the latest games or run the latest applications then there's a big chance that they are only available for Windows.
Don't get me wrong, Mac's specifications are top notch and its simplicity attracts a lot of buyers, but it really has no big advantage over Windows. So, as I said, no one really needs a Mac unless they want to spend some big money on a good-looking and classy computer with a browser.

Dante86
