lol I HAVE NOW! XD it was in the town where she kiled the first hollow, she used the same technique in killing it as she does in her shikai, but it didn't look like it was released because it was still a normal sealed zapaktou at the time.

I wonder if it was really the same technique since she was not using her shikai (her zanpakuto isn't white).
I think it was rather some special effect used to show the hollow disappearing.
I would also be surprised if it was really her shikai's power since it happened in the first episode, which is way too soon since her shikai appeared in the manga around chapter 200. But since it's Kubo we're talking about, who knows ? Perhaps he already had defined what Rukia's shikai was going to be (after all, Shinji appeared on the cover of the first chapter) but I seriously doubt it. Moreover, it only appears in the anime so it's probably not canon.
At least it gave me a good reason to rewatch episode 1 so thank you Ralphyundertudy.

Negative. I just checked the first volume and there is never a sash on Rukia's zanpaku before she transfers her power to Ichigo.

That whole shikai looking thing is anime only. And therefore not canon :/

Yeah... I just looked at the first episode and I have no idea where you are seeing the ribbon.

she doesn't use the same move at all.

she starts out with a simple side slash, and then finishes it with a vertical strike.

The stance she takes for her shikai's attack is completely different, the one she takes is... a pose.

are you confusing the speedlines/background for an ice pillar?
