View Full Version : do arrancar have a zanpakto after they're born? o__O
soooooooooooooooooooo i was just rereading some old manga chapters, to be more precise, the birth of wonderweiss... and i figured out heyyy~~ where is his zanpakto!? =XXXX the only thing we see is a halfnaked wonderweiss o___O;;;;
it's actually weird, because obviously he's born in his 'sealed' state, and since arrancar seal their powers in a sword it basically means that he should've been born with a sword =XXX or so i think.... U___U;;; what do you think? plothole perhaps? =XXX
Wow, good eye, twsl.
I don't think it's a plothole though. There are a number of possibilities for why we didn't see wonderweiss with a sword. I think they would be similar enough to shinigami that they have to create their sword, and once they do they can go into a released state.
ahh lolll~~ ^____^;;; so arrancar have to go through that process as well huh? =D =D hehe that sounds quite cool actually ^_^;; instead of meeting the "inner hollow" in the inner world, meeting up with the "inner shinigami" ahahahha that's what you meant right? =D pretty neat, stupid i didn't think about that xD xD thanks for pointing out~ ^_^;

It is a good question. This could explain why Nell is unnumbered and considered a failed arrancar. She has not achieved the ability to use her released state. I wonder though. Would a vastorode who is unable to achieve their unsealed state be numbered? It might be possible that an adjuucha arrancar in their released form would be more powerful than the weaker variety of sealed vastorode.

i think the arrancar do have zanpakto when they go through their shinigamification. maybe it just didn't show wonderwice's zanpakto for some reason...not exactly a plot hole, it just was not there.
plus the arrancar zanpakto arn't like shinigami zanpakto. shinigami zanpakto represent their inner soul and have those inner souls in their zanpakto. arrancar zanpakto are just the original forms of themselves sealed up (no inner souls involved).
well this is just my theory, it wouldn't seem that weird if this wasn't the case though. perhaps they do have to gain the zanpakto even after being sealed up.
The physical zanpakuto is not the important one, because if it's broken it can be recreated by one's power. Meaning the real zanpakuto resides within his owner soul.
The zanpakuto concept, and the ability of sealing their own powers, are an inheritance of their "shinigamification" for the Arrancars, so it's not different for them.
I'd say that Wonderweiss, at the time, did not yet materialize his zanpakuto.
(Maybe he has done it, just a moment later)
Yeah, something similar to Ichigo in his Inner World during the first time.. but without all the crumbling of surrounding things (because normally there isn't a time limit).

i don't think that arrancar have inner worlds and stuff. their zanpakto aren't like shingami ones. arrancar zanpakto don't have spirits cos they just seal up the hollows true form. you could say their zanpaktoo are hollow aswell in a way.
and when a zanpakto breaks it regenerates cos the zanpakto is alive. the spirit heals itself like people heal up when damaged.
plus i thiink all arrancar have zanpakto if powerful enough when o through shinigamification. weaker ones don't get zanpakto i think. like ice ringer and demora and probably nell.
I also doubt arrancar have a inner world.
I think that all arrancar have the ability to have zanpakuto, but only certain ones choose to use one, which kind of explains why arrancar like demora didn't have one, and yet grand fisher did. Power doesn't determine it.
It would nice to see Kubo touch upon this topic.
ahhh yeah! you're right about demora and iceringer, but didn't uryuu explain that as an arrancar they were failures because their body looked more hollowish compared to the rest or smth? o_O maybe that's the reason they didn't have a zanpakto ;xxxx dunno U___U;;;

Uryuu explained it like that (and it may have been true for Demoura), but IceRinger immediately chastised him for it, saying that he intentionally chose to be in that form.
The "Inner World" is just a representation of an abstract concept.
It doesn't really exist.
For Ichigo, what we see, is just his SOUL.
His own self in that world is part of his soul, Zangetsu is part of his soul, Shirosaki is part of his soul, all that whole reversed skycrapers world is just part of his soul. He doesn't have "external spirits" implanted inside something called "inner world". There's only his soul and its different aspects.
So, everyone have an inner world, because everyone has a soul.. and still that thing doesn't really exist. As I say, it's just a representation for something abstract. We are shown what's happening "inside" him, when there's an internal conflict.
If we are ever going to see the inner world of an arrancar, I bet we'll see an inner shinigami personification.. because arrancars have shinigami powers in their soul, as vaizards have hollows. Their "Horse", for their hollow-self "King".. if you know what I mean ;)
Iceringer and Demora were arrancar-failures (ones of the percentage that didn't gain human form after shinigamification), that's why they were still mostly hollow in appearence, and doesn't have a shinigami zanpakuto.
Nell, most probably, can materialize one if she really want.
By inner world I meant that they could talk to their sword's spirit in their soul. I don't think their swords have a spirit (shinigami or anything else) to it.
Even though they may have been failures, I still think that an all arrancar (failed or not) have the potential to use a sword.
I think it works a little like shinigami. They're given a asauchi (sorry don't know how to spell it) and they slowly infuse their spirit powers in it. So I think that's why they don't have a zanpakuto when they're born.
And for nell, well my guess is that she was deemed as a failure because she didn't have much power or will to fight... but I think that she's one of those hollows who removed their masks by themselves (the non-hougyoku way) because I don't think it would make sense to arrankarize a relatively weak hollow like her.
