Lets say you won a big price in some kind of Tv-game and this game had a rule of 40% of the money going to Charity of the winners choice.
So where would you send the money?

I'll donate it to various not-for-profit or non-profit charities:
1) Helping pets and other animals around humans (egs. Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Guide Dog Association)
2) Fighting somekind of sickness or handicap (egs. Heart Foundation etc.)

I'd send it to fund the West Memphis 3's legal support (see sig). I don't trust a lot of charities and there is proof that many scam the people donating and the people that are meant to get the money. I know that the people running the "Free the West Memphis Three" campaign are decent and would never do this and it is something I feel very passionate about.

I suppose my first choice would be "To safe an envioument" mainly rainforests and Coralreaves. Since most of the other stuff can be correctet in time, but if we lose these... The chance of getting it back is slim to none in a future not thousind of years away.
The Second choice would be preeserving historical buildings, mainly the very old ones, corse there will never be anything like em.
I voted for Starving children in another country, because I find it terrible to see children starving in TV (I´ve never been in a third world country). Children are mankind´s future and you collect so many memories/ impressions in your childhood, so that you´re marked with it your whole life. Starvation is a very threatening condition; you´re alive, but you´ve not the necessary nutrients to stay healthy and lead a happy life; you always feel hunger and it depresses you and worsens your whole physical/ phsychic conditions. You seem to live everyday on the verge of death and especially children suffer so much.

Sickness charitys because i know of a lot that have helped my family through relatives that have died of some sickness or another so i support what they do.
I picked saving the enviroment.
The first reason is that if the enviroment falls apart it won't matter how much we help others, we'd all die (this sounds really depressing).
My next reason is because if we helped the enviroment the the results (cleaner water, more food, less costs for cleaning polution) could help start/save the other choices on this poll. It could start a chain reaction to save the world:eek:.

I picked Other...I think firsty money should be spent on education, because what's the point of having a healthy, comfortable child/adult if they can't appreciate their well being and are only satisfied temporarily? (I know that sounds crass, but it's like stabilizing a child soldier...education is a very important step in the nurturing and development of those in poverty and political turmoil)
I agree with what rain said about the enviroment, it makes a lot of sense.
This is actually not an easy decision to make ^^;
After a long debate with myself, I feel that finding a cure for certain illness is still priority ... ie. Cancer!!! I'd like to save the environment, I'd like to preserve historical buildings, I'd like to help all that is in need!!! However, if I myself is sick, and condition will only worsen without a cure, I cannot help anyone. We're forgetting that we must first take care of ourselves in order to be fit to take care of others/things.

but what if i usually donate to most of the choices? =/ i donate omce-three times a month but i usually donate differently...mostly for poor people so i guess to the poor people =//
This is hard to pick, it would be easier if this were multiple choice.
I still like my choice of saving the enviroment, just because i like nature (and the rain)

Definitely illnesses and disease, either in research or to hospitals who treat them. My family has been affected by diseases before (especially cancer and diabetes) so we've donated a lot to those concerns especially.
BTW this thread isn't a debate, so moving it to Social. ;)

I voted for "Starving children in another country", well I'm doing that now since I support a child through World Vision. Though one can always do more.

I am all about saving the animals and the environment so I voted: helping an endangered species...I love animals so that's the most common charity for me to donate to.
"To safe an envioument"
Hands down. I'm a tree glomper hugger, always have been.
No one has voted for helping the handicapped:eek:
Axie- I'm guess i'm a tree-hugger also (I picked enviroment too)

They all are very important to me, but the one that takes the cake for me is helping our own poor. I think our gov should take care of our own country first before trying to save the world. Like the old saying goes (I actually heard this from a Hardees commercial) "Instead of making alot of things good...we should first make one thing perfect!"

I'm most concerned with poverty in Africa so I'd say send it to the starving children there.

I think I would send the money to the ones that our government would be the least required to help with. That to me would probably be helping pets and feeding children in other countries. Not to difficult to choose if I had too. The money would go the children.
