A good friend requested for a Shunsui x Nanao fic for his birthday and I'm about to hit my panic button because of writer's block. So here's some stuff I wanted to ask that might help me out...

1) Do you honestly think Shunsui picked Nanao to be his vice-captain, or was she assigned to him? If she was assigned to him, why in the world do you think she even agreed?

2) Since I haven't read too many fics, would anyone like to give their recs and why they like that particular story? My favorite fic writer for this pairing is incandescens, but maybe there's someone else out there who's slipped by my radar.

Any help would be appreciated! :) I offer a round of sake to whoever replies! :flirt

I can't believe I don't belong to this club. There was a time back there when I was trying not to join too many clubs but wth, I love this pairing. I second incandescens as a great shunsui and nanao AND bleach ff writer period.

There's really not much out there beyond a few short fics and drabbles. I've only written two (that I can remember). I suspect this flashback with the Nanao-lookalike is going to spur speculation and fanfic galore, though! I know that incandescens already has one on the burner!

OMG I have to join this FC! I just spent like a whole day while I was sick reading incandescence fics and I already liked the pairing - but now! whoa!

What I like about them is that although Nanao is very business like and gets the job done, she can't help but fall for the charming and rakish Shunsui. And as far as Shunsui goes... pink kimono, knows how to use a sword and a sake cup, long hair, charming... I think we can call that a no-brainer(plus he not a teenager so I don't feel like a pedo for fangirling him). I'm so happy he's in the flash backs!

In this first panel from -102, Lisa's the one behind the window checking on Shunsui's actions. In the latter one, Shunsui's the one checking on Nanao's actions. Notice how they take place by the same type of window.

Now, I know one's from the manga and one's just an omake, but still. Kubo drew both of them, and we all know Kubo's famous for his little parallelisms. This may be just a ridiculous coincidence of design, but it still made me smile. Possibly it may make some other Lisa-Shunsui-Nanao shipper out there smile, too.

But then I reread the manga actually paying attention to their parts, and I just fell in love with their interactions :love I love Nanao's loyalty and Shunsui's protectiveness, how their relationship has existed for all of her life, how she always smacks him but who knows what they do in private, how they understand each other so perfectly and their more-than-obvious chemistry. Also, I love them both individually, so together they're double win :amuse
