It's kinda sad how there aren't really that many fanworks out there for this paring... guess because it's kinda ambigous atm.

Well it's hard to notice. Him messing with Rukia could be considered a one off thing, since it seems he likes to mess with everybody. In the English version of the manga they don't really communicate his slight regret at having to kill her when Aizen orders him too. Things only really get solidified when you discover he messed with the passage ways so Rukia would meet up with Aaroneiro. They haven't even got that far in the anime yet. I work hard to point it out though. ;)

I know! That really irritated me, but at least they left the bridge scene intact in the animé (guess they thought "dear" was the closest endearment they could use- it does add a creepy feeling of closeness between the two)

Jebba- sorry I didn't get this up earlier. I completely missed that post for some reason. This is the song "Sekai wa Sude ni Azamuki no ue ni " or "The World Already Exists upon Deceit" - his image song (that corresponds with his manga epigraph- as KT writes the lyrics).

This translation is from AnimeLyrics.com so it's probably not 100% accurate... but the wonderful thing about our beloved Canon!Crack is that it doesn't have to be accurate to still be full of creepy and awesome.

I love... LOVE... :love this song. To me, it's very, very GinRuki, more so than other meanings (namely Matusmoto, Aizen and Hitsugaya). I still can't see the evidence of Matsumoto and Gin being anything other than friendship (not that I'm trying to bash their relationship- I personally believe that it was friendship, but was unfortunately never able to become something more), and especially given this song. Notice the lines---

In the Japanese song, the phrase is "sayonara, gomen wa" indicating a long-term parting (likely forever). Gin left not intending to see her again (:cry), and the footprints he left in the snow never existed to him (he just vanished out of her life- leaving nothing behind). It was only during their encounters at the Execution Site and the 3rd division barracks that he understood that he had hurt her, and apologized. Also----

Methinks KT's planning a double cross. It was an alarm bell at their meeting, not the closing (final) bell (can you smell the foreshadowing? It smells like awesome plot!!!!:D). He'll help Aizen, but it will cost him dearly, he'll play Aizen's little game, but Aizen might not like how it turns out.

But mostly, I think the song shows the strange (cracktastical :fangirl) extent of the GinRuki relationship- that history that KT has kept in the back of readers' minds until the resolution- where everything will be explained. Let's look at the Rukia lines----

The second part is a stanza and a half devoted entirely to her! His asking if she was afraid is a play on their encounter on the bridge, the sadistic reverse of her encounter with Ichigo.... and thus proof that IchiRukiGin is the OTP of doom! :love

It's nowhere near as condescending as his earlier "I'm here to help you" comment. It's very revealing about his motivations with Rukia, he wants her to tell him that she needs him- because if she doesn't, she'll die, and not just a regular death, she'll be completely destroyed ("in meaning and image"). Gin wants acknowledgement from her about them (thus the use of the term inclination).

He'll save her, but it will cost her (what it what makes this pairing so WTF- Gin will save Rukia, give her the ability to live again- but what will she have to pay in return?! There's the rub- that's what's driving this whole cracky relationship- because the answer is what has been driving Gin to persue her for so long, and what has made Rukia fear him for so long (God, this relationship is so freaking :wtf).

This is probably a lot more shipp-y than most interpretations, as I said before, I'm just calling it as I see it. :fangirl

You know I've always had this feeling that Gin wasn't loyal to Aizen. Now whether he's really good or bad, who knows? About the Matsu thing, I too don't see the evidence that they're more than friends (not bashing it of course) I remember when Hyiceme & I were discussing GinRuki & we were talking about this. Isn't there another song of his that kind of proves this too? Something about how she was too late or something along those lines? --Don't quote me on that though.

I love the whole, he will save her, but it will cost her! It's so GinRuki's relationship I think! And at first it seems like he is just torturing her, but at the same time helping her in his own way. Like on the bridge, she had accepted death & he gave her will to live again. Ichigo and Rukia were designed after one another - Rukia came first, and Ichigo was finished after her- he was going to have black hair in the pilot- but then Ichigo was given orange hair to contrast with Rukia better. They are opposites- black and white, sun and moon.

If you recall the SS arc, Rukia and Ichigo reunited on a bridge in one of the series' most romantic moments. It was very, very dramatic- as evidenced by KT's style of "illustrating the air"- when he draws only the characters (for effect).

Gin and Rukia had their reunion on a bridge too. The same bridge to be precise. Both men promised to save her, but in the end, Gin revealed that he was just joking with her. This is true! I find speculating on Gin & Ruki the most fun & interesting out of alot of the other pairings! It's the most interesting pairing & so unlike alot of pairings out there.

See, the only true problem I have with it lies in it's fandom.

It's really exhausting trying to look for stuff, because so much of it is hentai or moe/rape.

I don't mind the hentai, but I do have a HUGE problem with the latter. I love Rukia, and I would never want to see her put through that. :cry

My time is currently being spent working on this AMV, my own novel, and a GinRuki (xHisana, sort of ) fic. So it's kinda slow coming.... with school and all. :oops

I agree AFF. Not only is it hard to find stuff for them, the stuff that is there is pretty hardcore stuff. And I also don't mind the hentai stuff, I just don't think Gin is that sadistic. I don't like Ruki being hurt either :cry
