Facial wise...it's way too far. But the haircut is the resemblance.

This is one of the greater fantasy animes out there, if not a bit old. Byakun is correct, the music is amazing. Kanno did a superb job with the music. The opening and ending songs are memorable. I still listen to them sometimes.

I can't believe this is Maaya Sakamoto's debut role as a va - she did a fantastic job as Hitomi.

The characters are interesting too and complicated, especially Allen and Folken with their dark pasts. Dilandau is one of the most memorable antagonists just for the huge twist in the end. Van and Hitomi get the job done as hero and heroine.

I would describe it as a classic so I'll join :love :love

I know, Allen was awesome but Folken = God-level. I didn't really like Dilandau very much though.

Van is one of my favorite characters :inlove and escaflowne is an amazing anime..i hope if they'll make a new season but it's hopeless to dream about it now:<

Joinage, I loved Escaflowne. I watched my tapes so much that they're no longer readable xD

Van and Folken were LOVE.

The fans always wanted a sequel to this serie (OAVs, movie or serie), but so long after, I doubt there will be any. The movie has been quite a disappointement here. >___>'

I heard the movie was quite disappointing too... o__o;; (that's why I never watched it xD)

DVD exists though (but they cost an arm... I'll give you that <__<) anyways welcome to ze FC :D

Yeah but when I watched it, it was nearly 10 years ago LOL. We had the serie coming out on tapes pretty fast here in France. And I loved them a lot x______x

The only thing that I disliked was their noses haha so... long XD They became shorter after a while (or I got used to them lol XD).

France seems to be very high on anime... which is quite awesome =D btw what language was the tape in?? Japanese? English? French?

It was in Japanese subtitled in French. Although we also had the dubs coming in French because it was also airing on a channel at that time, so they would need the dubs. :) I never like dubs anyway, I always watch in JP subbed XD
