Does Gin look better with red or pale blue eyes? And why?

I prefer him with red eyes. He's already so pale, the red eyes really make you really pay attention to him and his intense gaze. Pale blue eyes makes him look really creepy and washed out.

Do you think Gin is ultimately a good guy, bad guy, or neutral? And why?

I still believe that he's neutral-good.

IMHO, Gin's very intelligent and his actions are almost for his own benefits. He's a survivor, and he's always made the most of whatever situation he's in, and I think that he's following Aizen to the top, only to backstab him later.

I still find it very interesting that Gin still doesn't address Aizen respectfully and get away with it.

@ Nocturne - I think Gin's the boss too, lounging around HM and messing around with underlings... *gets bricked by Spacecat*

@ Geta Boshi - that really sounds like what Gin would do, actually. Could have given GJ the idea to use the little cube against Ulq. Then feign ignorance and go "oh my, I didn't expect that he'd actually do so, tsk tsk..."

As much as i'm hoping that he's good, i think he's evil. Though i like his personality in the manga more, because he doesn't look so evil and vicious in the manga as in the anime.

Gin is, by D&D rules, neutral evil. All he does, he does it because he gains something of it; and he's ready to embrace the darkest paths to obtain what he seeks.
He's a bad guy, and proud of it.
This also applies for Aizen.

hmm uni why would I brick you for that? I've said the same idea on numerous occassions in fact once i got flamed for saying I think it at BF. It all goes back to the way Aizen and Gin talk to each other on equal terms...I've had that convo with u a million times @_@

Yeah Gin and Aizen have a weird relationship; I'd like to know more because it could tell a lot on both characters and on how they arrived where they are now.
As for Gin being the boss; I don't think so. But I think he's pretty much Aizen's equal, or nearly.

Gin doesn't really strike me as the organised type, i mean I picture his room with clothes all over the floor and stuff so maybe Aizen is just better at running the show plus he has charm and can gain someones respect/trust easier whereas one look at Gin and you would already have doubts ahaha it's why I love him xD

@ Gintoki. Good question. The Captain robe looks nicer, IMHO. Had more contrast, had the diamond / stripe pattern on the hem, and it's instantly recognisable as 'he's da boss'.

Gin's arrancar robe is more... hmm... slimming? And it's white upon pale skin & hair.

The characters that look really good in Arrancar robes are: Ulq and GJ. :cool:

Lol yeah but the captains robes made them look fat sometimes xD Especially aizen :o Gin would look cool in anything I reckon. I have a post card of him wearing a suit that is really cool.

Something that has been bothering me since the beginning. There seem to be 2 translations of His Shinsou. One being Deathspear, the other being Divine Spear. I know that Shin can mean both, Death and God, but has there been a confirmation from Kubo's side, like SOULS?

XD For me, it's two rings of large crossed (in an X-like shaped) glowing blades of reiryoku. The inner ring is around him, it's made of five crosses, and acts as his defense. The outer ring if really large and consists of ten crosses, which are his offense. He controls the ten outer crosses, which can slit into individual blades and move to his command. They can strike down anything they hit. (that's 20 blades of bankai level power o-o)

That's just the 1st Tierade. His Bankai has seven different levels. (in my mind XD) And in case someone can get past his outer ring, his inner protects him, and once they're inside, the outer rings will probably kill them anyway.

In his 3rd Tierade, the outer ring has split, five and five, to form an X-like pattern, with Gin and his inner ring in the middle. With this, he uses an attack called 'Divine Judgment of the God Spear' in which all the blades seperate, (except for the inner ring) and shoot off in the mass beserk folly of strikes that spans a pretty good distance. There's so many attacks going on at once that if you are in the range of the Judgment, you WILL most likely DIE.

However, the only back drop to the Judgment is that Gin is left with only his inner ring and no means of attack, but...

Oh Crap O_o I wrote a lot...Oops >< Uh...yeah...I'll stop before I go into the other Tierades...the only important ones though are the 1st, 3rd, 5th, and 7th...I'll tell ya' that...but...it would take me two pages to describe them all >< So, I'll stop with my foolish rambling on how I believe Gin's bankai owns all >>

If you think about it also seeing how comparison / names are turning into reality ( jaguar ) I wouldn’t be surprised if Gin's Zanpakuto materialization may be a snake not a snake like we know a snake with wings . Bizarre well the difference between a snake and dragon is limbs in mythology

I wonder if we'll ever see his Bankai. I mean the interesting thing about Bleach is to know that all Captains have Bankai (k, nearly all), but they haven't shown it yet. I doubt all unseen Bankais will be as spectacular as we await them to be.

Rukia's been ignored for many many manga chapters. Do you think Gin's gone to get her? (Gin had manipulated the corridors to have Rukia meet Aarroniro, so am not sure if he'd predicted the outcome.)

There is a slight confusion here he manipulated all the corridors . Entire team Ichi is in Espada Palace not just Rukia alone Ichigo Ishida from Tres Cefres

Hmm maybe bad phrasing. Yes he was messing around with the corridor controls, however he seemed particularly interested with Rukia vs Arroniro. The only other 'emotional' fight in HM arc (so far) was GJ vs Ichigo, and honestly I cannot be sure that GJ was manipulated by the corridors (he actively looked for Ichigo).

Eh... there's nothing to really imply that Gin was controlling everyone's movements if I recall correctly. In 264 it looks like he is just controlling one long hallway. Besides, he looked very uninterested in the whole invasion ordeal until he saw Rukia on the camera. I don't think he really cares where everyone else is going.

I think the artist was trying to show Gin's...eccentricity? I don't know how to interpret it really. The most I get out of this is that Gin is no stranger to death. The skeleton in shinigami clothes could be the days in which he was a "good" shinigami. Now that part of him is dead, maybe? The cuff and chain could symbolize the sense of "being tied to" or imprisonment, anything like that. Like he cannot break free, no matter how hard he tries. Did something happen in Gin's past that causes him to run away? I certainly don't know. Gin in arrancar-style robes could be symbolized as the present, and the skeleton in shinigami clothes could be the past. His past. Like I said, I think he might be running away from something. (Shinigami duties, "friends"?, Rangiku maybe, because they definately knew each other...?)

This ties in with Gin's personality; he's definately more than meets the eye. It's like whenever you see him, you wonder; "What is that man really thinking about? What's going on in that head of his? What's he planning?" Automatically you think of him as manipulative and sinister behind that twisted smile of his. But you're not really sure. He keeps people guessing about the true him, and even the people who are closely tied with him, like Rangiku, aren't sure of his motives.

Ahh, Gin's such a great character. You know he is cunning but he always pretends to not know anything. So deceptive. I view him as much as, if not more of a bad person than Aizen. Gin knows that he does bad things, acknowledges it, yet still does it. Because he likes it. He makes you wonder about his thinking, but again, you're not sure if you really want to know.

How can you look at his face and not be suspicious? I love the dual nature of Gin ;)

Anyway, I think this thing is long enough...gah, going on a tangent here! :p But seriously, I could on and on and on and on and on- *gets shot* X_X

Hmmm my interpretation is so much more simplistic than yours, therefore I asked for other opinions. :D Don't throw pies at me for the following crappy explanation...

The skeleton and the Arrancar uniform: Gin threw away his Shinigami 'present and future' for a future serving with Aizen.

Him lying atop the skeleton: looks like a Ying-Yang symbolisation here. The shinigami side is dead (history). However he looks as if he really regrets killing the shinigami side of him (speculation: Matsumoto?).

Cuff and chain: he's in so deep with Aizen that it's difficult to break free. It's possible to break free though... he seems to be tied by only a wrist (rather than entwined in chains).

Well he had his panel time during the SS arc, where he was handled as the Evil Mastermind. But compared to other characters, and the amazing overall number of Bleach chars he didn't place that bad.

Nearly all SS characters didn't even appear since the Arrancar arc, and Gin got his little Cameos here and there, though i don't like his secretary position atm, where he's just cleaning Aizens seat all the day and making hime some coffee. He was more interesting when he was more individual and suspicious.

Not only is he a Comedian, but also a very polite character. He isn't refering to any Captain with their name but just with their rank "Oh Rokuban Taichou", "Nanana, Jyuuban Taichou-san", while everyone else is downgrading him. Toushi and Ken-chan are just calling him "Ichimaru" without his Captain Title, and Rangiku and Aizen are going with Gin. Even Rukia called him Gin, only to be lectured by him on the bridge.

He's calling Tousen even "Tousen-san". I mean Hello? He's your subordinate. You better call him Kaname when i read your next conversation with him.

And jumping straight in: I dunno Gintoki, quite a few people seem to have trusted Gin despite his creepy persona. For one thing, he was made a captain (that could've been Aizen pulling strings, but even so) and for another, going by the Colour Bleach omakes, he seems to have been popular with his subordinates.

Ahh yeah the Mobile phone story, of course how could i forget about that. Ok I'll change my statement to: everybody besides 2-3 people (rangiku, kira and aizen) disliked him. So everybody who wasn't close with him thought of him as a creepy and suspicious person, and that's what Kubo intended. So I think it's safe to say he was one of the top3 captains with the least image among the gotei 13.

It is kind of odd that Ran doesn't find him so creepy as most girls e.g Hina and Rukia but then again she did grow up with him. It's really hard to tell if he is evil or just damn weird lol

When did Hinamori find him creepy? She was startled when he appeared behind her so suddenly, but she didn't seem to find him creepy or unlikeable in any way until after Hitsugaya's warnings + finding Aizen pinned to the wall.

I dunno, I just don't think people in SS were all that creeped out by Gin. Byakuya and Zaraki were short with him, but it didn't really seem to be all that personal (Byakuya's a priss with everyone and Zaraki has little interest in those who won't fight him) and the very fact that Ruka being scared of him was so highlighted makes me think that hers was an unusual reaction (if every single woman in SS was afraid of Gin, we would probably have heard about it during Rukia's monologue).

Well it doesn't surprise me he seems mostly liked even if at first I had always thought he wasn't. The more I think of it the more people seemed to like him than didn't. And Aizen obviously has a thing for him xD

But I still don't have the opninion that he's a liked character. Accepted yes, but liked hmmm. He has a creepy aura surrounding him so people don't trust him. However if you're close enough to him you learn that he's more kind than you think. But to get so close to Gin to understand him, that's the real obstacle.
