Yes, I was so disappointed that Aaro was not Kaien. Kubo is so evil, he betrayed us. T^T Chapter 267 is a major heartbreaker. But Chapter 268 is total love.

I hope we can see more of Kaien in future, through Rukia's flashbacks.

So... this isn't really fanart, so I don't know what you'd want with it, but I did a manga coloring of Kaien from chapter 268. It's the one that I used in my avatar over @BF. Anyway, sorry for the plain white background-- I left it like that because it made it easier to cut him out for icon making purposes... that and I'm just lazy :p. Maybe someday I'll add something if I'm bored.

I doubt Kaien will really come back, but man, it'd be tremendously interesting if he did. I'd love to see the reactions of Ukitake, Kuukaku and Ganju, as well as Kaien's own reactions to the changes that have occurred in his absence...along with his reaction to his doppelganger. I was SO hopeful he would meet Ichigo when he first showed his face in Las Noches. Well, once I got over the "WTF?!?!!?!" enough to form words.

I was wondering...I'm working on this fic--well, it's not exactly a fic. It's like a prose-adaptation-kinda of the KaiRuki flashback she was having back in SS, with her "heart"-slash-"don't die alone"-flashback incorporated in there before the Hollow-drama bit.
...the whole story of which will likely culminate with giving a little intro to the verrry beginning of when she first runs into Arroniero & he unmasks himself. (If I work it right, that is. Otherwise, I might just do a zoom-out back to the present time--that is, the night before Rukia's execution where she was dreaming.)

I say "kinda-"prose-adaptation since, being a fan-work, I've rearranged a liiittle dialogue so it's not ripping off Kubo, any scanslators, any fansubbers, or Viz. Also, I've worked in a few of my own sorts of perspectives on certain matters, and included a few more chara's thoughts/feelings where I wanted to or felt necessary.

Anyone think I should put it up here, at least for feedback mebbeh? I haven't posted it anywhere yet like fanfic.net or anything (partly 'cause I'm not even wholly sure it can be deemed a fanfic)...Suggestions?

i think within the 9 year gap from chap -105 and -104 kaien became a vice captain(hopefully).

cos kaien is a vice captain in that new ds game, while urahara is still there, but shinij is not. so the events of the game should be after shiniji left, but b4 urahara left. which seems to be just 1 year difference.
